EDITOR’S NOTE Hey fellow Key Clubbers! It’s been awhile since my last newsletter, and I apologize for the delay. Even though we’re all well into the middle of the school year, Key Club is still operating as efficiently as ever. Thank you all for your participation and, as always, happy reading ~ Yours Sincerely, Katherine Yang 2015-2016 Editor

PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE Hello everyone! I hope everyone had a great winter break! Now that January has passed, let’s look back and reflect on all the things our Key Club has accomplished! We successfully had Coffeehouse, a fun-filled night, where audience members enjoyed snacks, drinks, and performances. We’ve also started our CareOne program, where, twice a month, members go visit the elderly and spent some time with them, whether it’s making crafts together, or playing bingo. Right now, as a club, we’re preparing for elections--if you’re interested in an officer position, please see the handbook that our editor, Katherine, has kindly published – and please do not hesitate to ask us any questions! J

Yours in Caring and Service, Yang Fu PHS Key Club President '15-'16

COFFEEHOUSE The PHS Key Club’s 2016 Coffeehouse took place on January 8th from 6 to 9 pm. For three hours, both members and non-members of Key Club displayed their varying talents, from singing to dancing to dramatic readings. Refreshments were served alongside the performances, which were all big hits with the audience. A big thanks to everyone who participated, including performers, decorators, prep staff, and servers!

CAREONE Visiting CareOne is definitely an experience that I recommend to all Key Clubbers! During my visit, our Key Club group ran a crafts activity for the elderly. We helped set up the tables and paint, and assisted the elderly in painting their own wood crafts, such as flowers or bird houses. It was such a joy seeing the delight and joy that stemmed from crafts time. Not only did the elderly love painting and expressing their artistic side, the general members also got to hear many life stories, which were all inspiring and interesting. It was so rewarding and fun interacting with the workers, caregivers, and people of CareOne, especially as you see how the skills we sometimes take for granted become such a huge blessing to these people. If any Key Clubbers are interested in the next CareOne visit, please sign up when we announce the visit dates to the club! And, as always, if there are questions about this service opportunity, please feel free to ask the officers or myself! — GUEST SPEAKER Yang Fu, President

UPCOMING ELECTIONS!!! Attention all freshmen, sophomores, and juniors! As the service year is almost over, we will be holding elections soon. Applications for running officers are due February 12 and the elections themselves will take place on Wednesday, February 15 in Cafeteria 2. Be there or be square! If you have any questions, please ask any officer or refer to the newsletter pertaining to elections J Good luck to all!
