Leadership: Raised funds for a new track fund; a new sign for Carson Elementary; and curriculum for teachers. I believe in results-oriented goals and action items to meet the bottom line with healthy budgets and quick resolution.
Ingenuity: Ideas to reinvigorate by internal and external programs for tutoring, art, and school spirit.
The COVID crisis will take persistence in the areas of education, mental health, and schedule for administrators, teachers, and parents with kids to get back to normal. I know many staff and kids from work and PTA, which has built trust and care with primary and secondary students. If elected I will listen to all parties, weighing how to best move forward but keeping the basics of education in the forefront. My viewpoint is kids learn best in an environment where they feel confident and supported with tools to succeed. It has been said it takes a village but this next year will take a strong community. Please vote for Nichole Weber on August 3rd!

Statement: My wife, Carrie Wong, and I have been part of the Puyallup community for 20 years. We raised three sons here -- two Puyallup School District graduates and one a member of the class of 2024. I have been advocating for public education most of their lives, building consensus on controversial issues. My proposals are parts of legislation that received bipartisan support from legislators in Olympia before being signed into law.
I want to strengthen traditions of bipartisanship and leadership on the Puyallup School Board. I want to connect our community, from North Hill to South Hill, with our schools ensuring each student has equitable access to opportunities they need to achieve their potential.
The reopening of school buildings is only one part of the path forward for our District. Listening to and acting on ideas from students, parents, and teachers will be crucial to rebuilding our culture of excellence.
My priorities include better informing our community about District programs and progress and ensuring our leadership is responsive and accountable. My promise is to be an advocate for our entire community - helping educators nurture the talents of each student, respecting the rights of each parent, and celebrating our diversity.

Statement: As a mom, I am a passionate advocate for my children, not a career politician. Over the years I have noticed a growing disconnect between legislators and parents on matters of education and parental rights.
Last year I fought for truth, trust and transparency during the battle over Sex Ed and I want to honor my commitment to those three ideals as a parent representative on the University Place School Board. It is my goal to bridge the growing divide between parents and the educational goals of Olympia, which are increasingly turning away from reading, writing and math, and advocate on behalf of parents whose voices are no longer being heard.
I am a firm believer in local control and respecting individual family values. As a multicultural woman, I offer a unique perspective from the middle of the aisle, which is where we need to meet to get work done. The University Place School district is one of the most desirable in the South Sound due to its high educational goals and strong community. Despite incoming legislation from Olympia, I want to ensure that we stay committed to those goals and the community we love.
