WELCOME WORDS GOOD afternoon and welcome to all our supporters and the players, management and supporters of Stevenage Ladies to Manadon Football hub.
I am going to extend our warm welcome to Stevenage to the South West of England in what I believe is our first ever meeting between the two sides. We hope you have had a safe and pleasant journey down to Plymouth and have a safe journey back home.
I am expecting a tough quarter-final tie in the National League Plate from our National League South-East opponents. Stevenage have enjoyed some great results lately, notably beating Watford Under-23s in their County Cup game, so I am confident we are in for a tough game and we need to be at our best to get a result
I am writing my programme notes in the aftermath of getting to another Devon Women’s Senior cup final by beating Buckland Athletic Ladies. It was a great result, but the most important part of the result was the way we were positive in possession and in the manner we controlled the game for long periods. Well done to our ladies. The game was moved to the Marjon University Campus, our training base, as the original game at Buckland was postponed on Sunday. We will now Play Exeter City in the County Final on May 15.
I would like to take this opportunity in thanking all the spectators who came to watch our ladies play and it was also nice to see the men’s first-team assistant-manager Steven Schumacher in the crowd as well - I hope he went away pleased. It is great to see the first-team taking an interest in the Ladies and their football, as some players have come down to Manadon to watch the ladies earlier in the season.
Well done to the men’s first-team in getting some great results of late and pushing into the play-offs. It is great to see both senior teams at the football club doing so well and pushing football in the City in the right direction. Long may this continue and come on all you supporters, please come and watch the Ladies at Manadon - you won’t be disappointed. Our ladies need you also. Please get behind the team and give them all your support you can in the future. I hope you all enjoy the game. Come on you Greens!

STEVENAGE
STEVENAGE Boro Ladies were founded in 2001 and renamed in 2014, coming under the umbrella of Stevenage FC and dropped the Boro in line with their parent-club Stevenage FC to become Stevenage Ladies, changing to the Stevenage FC Women banner this season. Over the years, the Ladies have grown from strength to strength and in 2009 managed to create a reserve set-up to help bring young players into adult football and through into the first-team. In their relative short history, both teams have been very successful, winning leagues and gaining promotions, as well as winning League Cups, the County Cup and finishing runners-up. Currently, the first-team have just made the County Cup Final for the sixth season in a row, winning the trophy three times in the past five years and hoping to make it number four in March. Stevenage Boro Ladies were founded in 2001 and renamed in 2014 coming under the umbrella of Stevenage FC. In the Summer of 2019, Stevenage Ladies became Stevenage FC Women as the Stevenage FC Foundation Department took the reins of the day to day running of the Club in-order to further support the aspirations of the women’s side and to bring the Foundation’s female football pathway closer together.

Head of Foundation, Joe Goude said: “We’re delighted to be bringing the women’s side into the Foundation and providing governance, marketing and logistical support for them to not only consolidate their position in the FA Women’s National League South East Division but to push the team forward and strive for promotion to the FA Women’s National League Southern Premier Division. “The move strengthens the Foundation’s vision of providing opportunities for people to realise their potential and alongside our

opments, Dani Toyn said: “We are proud to be making the change to Stevenage FC Women from ‘Ladies’ and feel that along with the new crest announcement coming soon it is the perfect time to rebrand the women’s team and really kick on. “We’ve made the change based on player feedback and to be in line with the FA’s broader structure where both the ‘WSL’ and the ‘WNL’ leagues are named ‘Women’s’. “We wanted to reflect a modern view on language and equality and feel that dropping ‘Ladies’ helps us do this”.
