WELCOME WORDS WE would like to welcome the players, management and officials of West Bromwich Abion to Manadon for this semi-final of the National League Plate competition. We would also like to extend our welcome to their supports and hope you all enjoy your short stay in Plymouth. To my knowledge, this is the first meeting of the two clubs, who are plying their trade at the same level but in opposite divisions, our visitors from the Northern League and us from the Southern League. I was delighted to have got a home draw as our recent run of away games has been bordering on ridiculous. The amount of miles my Ladies have put in this season already is probably more than most in our level of football. I was also delighted that we stayed away from the teams in our southern division as it is nice to guage ourselves against a northern league team. I am very honoured to take PALFC into a national semi-final as the opportunities do not come around that often. So we will be doing our very best to make it a day to remember and who knows what will happen after 90 minutes, or maybe even be 120 minutes? I know our visitors, as holders of the cup, will be applying the same message. Looking back, our league performances have been inconsistent in recent games so the break form the league campaign is welcomed and all our focus will be on today’s cup match.
I really do not like to pick out too many individual players and singing their achievements, but I have to mention Libby Lawton, who, one day after her 16th birthday, made her senior debut. I am sure you will all agree this young lady has a bright future ahead of herself and, if she keeps working hard and applies the right attitude, then who knows what lies ahead of her? I hope you all enjoy the game. Come on You Greens!

TODAY’S VISITORS:
WBA WOMEN
TODAY’S opposition were formed in 1989 as West Bromwich Albion Women’s FC, and they currently occupy 10th position in the Women’s National League Northern Premier Division – the sister league to the Southern Premier Division, which Argyle Ladies currently sit in fourth position. Albion regained their place in the Northern Premier Division in spectacular style, having won the Division One Midlands title by a landslide last season – winning 19 of their 20 league fixtures, with a cumulative goal difference of +82. Albion’s local rivals, the Wolves Women, finished six points behind them in second place. Having initially struggled to hit the heights of last season on their return to the Northern Premier Division, West Brom have evidenced some impressive recent form, which has lifted them out of immediate danger in league action, while also progressing to the final of their county competition, as well as today’s semi-final. A 4-1 away win at Bolton Wanderers in the quarter-final capped a five-game unbeaten run heading into this after-
