a m e s s a g e f r o m t h e m ay o r SOMETHING NEW FOR EVERYONE THIS SUMMER! Dear residents, The City of Pointe-Claire is proud to present the new edition of Leisure Pointe-Claire, which contains information about this summer’s cultural and sports activities and special events. Among the new features are the Lumina cultural project and the new skatepark. From July 7 to August 14, the Stewart Hall Art Gallery invites you to explore light in various forms and themes with the Lumina exhibition. This special program includes an art exhibition featuring artists from Canada and around the world, an exhibition tailored to children combining art and science, and plenty of art workshops and shows for the whole family. john belvedere mayor

The launch of Lumina will take place on July 7 during the Picnic Vernissage at Stewart Park, next to the Cultural Centre, with a wide variety of activities for the whole family. The Youth Advisory Board will also host a festive evening organized for 14- to 21-year-olds at the Art Gallery, featuring a DJ. This will be an opportunity for young residents to chat, have fun, and discover or rediscover the Art Gallery! A mural inspired by the Lumina project will also be created this summer at the new skatepark in collaboration with teens and the Youth Advisory Board. All young artists, amateurs, and sports enthusiasts are invited to participate. A few weeks earlier, the inauguration of the skatepark will take place on Saturday, June 15 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., also in collaboration with the Youth Advisory Board. To mark the occasion, there will be a demonstration by professionals and a beginners’ workshop. The new 12,000-square foot park was designed to appeal to skateboarders of all levels, from amateurs to experts, and can also accommodate bicycles, BMX bikes, scooters, and even wheelchairs. Learn more about our activities in this program and in Culture Pointe-Claire to enjoy summer in Pointe-Claire. Have a great summer! John Belvedere Mayor
