The five artists featured in this exhibition drew inspiration from textile techniques and patterns, which they transpose to other mediums and materials to bring fabric out of its traditional domestic world and imbue it with the social concerns we face today. Whether they tackle social issues, cultural characteristics, or feminism, the artists create the threads of their stories of the present from knowledge of the past.

Lumina explores light from a perspective of sensory and cognitive destabilization. This exhibition invites visitors to walk down several new paths of exploration, whether in the form of optical phenomena or singular narratives, and even experiments that delve into the realm of the imagination.

In conjunction with the Threads exhibition, artist Shelley Miller will be in residence in the Project Room with Taking Space (see p. 6 for details). Artists: Myriam Dion, Surabhi Ghosh, Diane Meyer, Shelley Miller and Sarah Thibault Curators: Manel Benchabane and Céline Le Merlus
