a message from the mayor Dear citizens, Many of you took advantage of our programming this summer, whether you were practicing water sports or joining in day camp activities. You enjoyed our new skate park and you had fun at events with sheep in the park. Thank you. Your presence was greatly appreciated at concerts, at our many outdoor events, and at the Lumina exhibition. I want to say a word about the remarkable work carried out by our outdoor pool associations. Throughout the summer, they make a key contribution to the liveliness of our neighbourhoods. Working with the Association of Lakeshore Pools, these volunteers also organized close to a hundred swimming, diving, water polo, and synchronized swimming competitions, all in a spirit of participation and good sportsmanship. john belvedere mayor
Recruiting for the 2020 Youth Advisory Board is underway and will continue until September 13. Already, our first cohort has been involved in several projects, including the inauguration of the skate park, Canada Day celebrations, and the Lumina exhibition. I want to thank participants for their commitment to the City, to our activities, and to the young people of Pointe-Claire. The City of Pointe-Claire is proud to present this new edition of Leisure Pointe-Claire, providing full information about our cultural and sports activities and the fall’s upcoming events. Exciting new initiatives include the Library Getaway festival, focusing on Scotland, and a community repair café to help you give new life to objects and appliances that are not working properly. We hope the information on our activities in this program, and in Culture Pointe-Claire, will give you a lively and enjoyable fall in Pointe-Claire. Happy autumn to one and all! John Belvedere Mayor
