PRIMA I TEST, POI LE GARE
Giro di boa per l’Italian F.4 Championship powered by Abarth con il quarto dei sette appuntamenti stagionali. Teatro del confronto è la pista del Mugello, su cui, proprio nei giorni precedenti la gara, si è svolta una sessione di test ufficiali. Le classifiche, naturalmente, sono apertissime, specie quella dei rookie che, dopo tre gare disputate, ha già visto alternarsi al comando tre diversi piloti. Attualmente i leader delle classifiche sono: Siebert nella graduatoria assoluta, Maini tra i Rookie, Fabienne Wohlwend nel Woman Trophy e Jenzer Motorsport tra i team.
FIRST THE PRACTICE SESSIONS, THEN THE RACES
The fourth of seven seasonal appointments marked the halfway point of the Italian F.4 Championship powered by Abarth. The scene of the competition was the Mugello circuit, which hosted an official practice session on the days before the race. Obviously, the standings were wide open, especially the rookie standings, which had already seen three different leaders in as many races. The leaders in the standings were: Siebert in the overall standings, Maini among the rookies, Fabienne Wohlwend in the Woman Trophy and Jenzer Motorsport in the manufacturers’ championship.

AL MUGELLO REGNA L’EQUILIBRIO
La prima sessione di qualifiche del quarto round di campionato vede 20 piloti racchiusi in un secondo. Nella seconda sessione, i primi tre sono distanziati di soli 29 millesimi. In entrambi i casi, però, il più veloce è Juan Correa, del Prema Power Team, che si guadagna le pole di Gara 1 e Gara 2.
Correa si conferma il migliore anche in Gara 1, corsa costantemente al primo posto nonostante la pressione del suo compagno Schumacher. Più staccati gli altri, con il brasiliano Raucci, della Diegi Motorsport, terzo a quasi 13 secondi, dopo una rimonta dalla quinta piazza.
Molto movimentata Gara 2: allo start un incidente coinvolge 4 piloti e costringe i commissari a esporre la bandiera rossa. Al nuovo via, Correa e Schumacher scattano ancora in testa, ma in un tentativo di sorpasso i due si toccano ed escono di scena. Ad approfittarne è Raucci, che si invola verso la vittoria. Secondo chiude l’italiano della Bhaitech Diego Bertonelli, partito sesto, davanti all’estone Juri Vips, del Prema Power Team.
Gara 3 parte con i primi 10 posti in griglia invertiti rispetto all’arrivo di Gara 2. Dalla pole scatta Shlom, della RB Racing, subito attaccato da Siebert del Jenzer Motorsport. Alle loro spalle si piazza Vips e i tre tagliano il traguardo in quest’ordine. Dietro, lo spettacolo è assicurato da Schumacher: partito 29°, chiude 11° facendo segnare anche il giro veloce.
Con questa vittoria Siebert mantiene il comando della classifica generale. Tra i Rookie, invece, cambia ancora il leader, con Cunati che si riprende la testa della classifica ai danni di Maini.
EQUILIBRIUM REIGNS AT MUGELLO
The first qualifying session of the fourth championship round saw 20 drivers within a second of each other. In the second session, the first three were separated by just 29 thousandths of a second. However, in both cases the fastest was Juan Correa, driving for the Prema Power Team, who earnt pole position for Race 1 and Race 2.
Correa confirmed his dominance in Race 1, which he led from the front throughout despite pressure from his partner Schumacher. The others were further off the pace, with the Brazil’s Raucci, driving for Diegi Motorsport, almost 13 seconds behind in third, having climbed up from fifth.
Race 2 proved very eventful: an accident right at the start involved four drivers and forced the race officials to put out the red flag. At the re-start, Correa and Schumacher flew back into the lead, but during an overtaking manoeuvre they manage to collide, ending their participation in the race. It was Raucci who managed to take advantage, racing away to victory. Italy’s Diego Bertonelli, driving for Bhaitech, finished second having started in sixth, ahead of Estonia’s Juri Vips, driving for the Prema Power Team.
Race 3 started with the top 10 places on the grid in reverse order compared to the order of arrival in Race 2. Schlom, driving for RB Racing, started in pole position and was immediately attacked by Siebert, driving for Jenzer Motorsport. Vips followed behind and the three crossed the finish line in that order. Behind them, Schumacher guaranteed the entertainment, climbing from 29th position to finish in 11th and also posting the fastest lap.
The win saw Siebert retain his lead in the overall standings. However, the leader in the rookie standings changed yet again, with Cunati taking over from Maini.

SI CHIAMA ITALIAN, SI LEGGE “INTERNATIONAL”
Il nome completo del campionato è Italian F.4 Championship powered by Abarth, ma di esclusivamente italiano ci sono giusto le piste, i telai e i motori delle monoposto, l’organizzazione e il promoter del campionato, che è WSK. I piloti vengono invece da tutto il mondo e, nonostante “giochino fuori casa”, dimostrano di non avere nulla da temere. Se si prende la classifica assoluta piloti dopo la metà del campionato (il Mugello è il quarto appuntamento di sette), sono infatti ben 9 le nazioni rappresentate ai primi dieci posti. Questo l’ordine: Argentina, Germania, Messico, Venezuela, Olanda, Brasile, Cina, Stati Uniti d’America, Estonia. Molto internazionale è anche la classifica riservata ai debuttanti, il Rookie Trophy: al Mugello comanda un italiano, seguito da un indiano, un estone, un altro italiano e un americano.

IT’S SPELT “ITALIAN”, BUT IT READS “INTERNATIONAL”
The full name of the championship is the Italian F.4 Championship powered by Abarth, but the only things that are exclusively Italian are the circuits, the chassis and the engines of the single-seaters, the organisation and the promoter of the championship, called WSK. The drivers come from all around the world and, despite “playing away from home”, show that they have nothing to fear. A look at the overall standings halfway through the championship (Mugello is the fourth round of seven) shows that 9 nations are represented in the top ten, in the following order: Argentina, Germany, Mexico, Venezuela, the Netherlands, Brazil China, United States and Estonia. The standings in the Rookie Trophy also have a very international flavour: an Italian is in the lead at Mugello, followed by an Indian, an Estonian, another Italian and an American.
