WELCOME Welcome and hello from the Pride Glasgow Team, Since Glasgow last played home to a Pride Event there has been a number of changes both in Lesbian, Gay, Bi-Sexual and Trans equality but also Pride Scotia (Glasgow) has also seen changes to it we’ve changed our name to create an event that is reconisable to Glasgow . To ensure the event has a presence in the city of Glasgow we’ve secured George Square for the pride event on August 30th. Pride in Glasgow has always been Free and this year is no different the march, rally and main event is free to attend and tickets to the Pride closing party on August 31st are reasonably priced. This year’s event see us say goodbye to being enclosed with an open air stage on George Square where live acts like Brenda Edwards, Uniting Nations, Billiam and 80’s legend Hazel Dean will take to the stage. We hope you enjoy the day

Pride Glasgow Team xx

Official sponsor WELCOME We all know how important it is to be seen. Seen as a united community, seen on the streets, seen to be getting things done. At QS we’re proud of our partnership with Pride Glasgow, to be seen as the Official Sponsor and in return provide the opportunity for Pride Glasgow to be seen by Scotland. Over the pride weekend you’ll see us in the Parade, in George Square and at the Finale party. In the future you’ll see us continue to support the community, it’s venues and events across the country. After all, seeing is believing. Happy Pride, Glasgow. Andrew Clarke QS Magazine

STAYING SAFE We want you to enjoy Pride Glasgow as much as possible, so here are a few tips on how to enjoy your day.... CLOTHING Bring suitable clothing for Glasgow’s unpredictable weather. Don’t forget your suncream. Despite the rumors, the sun in Scotland can burn! ALCOHOL AND DRUGS The festival is open to all age groups, please insure that you bring proof of age if you are lucky enough to look under the age of 21! Please do not bring your own bottles to the festival. Bottles may be confiscated by security upon entry! Glagow city council operates a zero tolerance to alcohol consumption in non licenced areas i.e no drinking in the street. Don’t overdo the alcohol and make sure you drink plenty of fluid throughout the day to keep yourself hydrated. Pride Glasgow shows no tolerance to illegal drugs - and if found on your person, the police will be called.

SAFETY IN GENERAL Strathclyde police officers are well trained to deal with homophobic incidents. Don’t feel scared to report any harassment or abuse. Please report any trouble to the police or seek assistance from any member of the Pride Glasgow team. RESPECT George Square is in the heart of the city and Pride Glasgow would like to take this opportunity to thank the city council for giving us the chance to celebrate our diversity in this fab location. Pride Glasgow ask that everyone is silent while marching by the cenataph (the war memorial outside city chambers) we will take this time to remember the LGBT people who fought and died in the war.
