Welcome
Welcome to Prosper ISD! As Superintendent of Schools, I am overjoyed that you have chosen our district to begin or continue your child’s educational journey. In Prosper ISD, we are committed to working collaboratively with your family to provide an outstanding educational experience. Our motto is We are Prosper. We are ONE! Prosper ISD is one of the fastest growing school districts in the nation. However, we all work together to provide the best education for all students regardless of the campus they call home. Future teachers, construction workers, architects, doctors, cosmetologists, lawyers, mechanics, astronauts, welders, soldiers, and political leaders will come from the halls of our campuses. What makes Prosper ISD great is that we do not need to look to the future to see this leadership in our students. Every day, we see our students leading in the classroom, in their community, and in extra-curricular and co-curricular activities. In addition to the robust educational, leadership, and extracurricular opportunities for your children, Prosper ISD offers families many opportunities to get involved. We are committed to building community, deepening collaboration, and continuing to communicate as we connect with you. Families are critical to the success of every child. Engage with your campus by joining: • Campus PTO’s • Watch DOGS (Dads of Great Students) • Prosper Education Foundation • Booster clubs at the secondary level • Campus and classroom support and service If you see me out and about, please stop me and say hello! Best wishes for a great school year! Sincerely, Dr. Holly Ferguson Superintendent of Schools 5

Prosper Independent School District
Welcome I’ve been where you are right now. I vividly recall the combined feelings of excitement and anxiousness as my family arrived in Prosper ISD. While confident we were in the right place, being the new family ‘on the block’ came with a sense of uncertainty. It didn’t take long...in fact, less than 48 hours, and another group of families caused us to lose our ‘newest family’ title rank. While I congratulate you on your decision of choosing Prosper ISD to partner with on the public education journey and I extend a hearty welcome to you as you join our growing family and amazing community, I must tell you that in a very short time, you’ll be looking back to extend greetings to the next group of newcomers. Please know that as today’s newest family, we are thrilled that you’re here. As Prosper ISD continues to grow, the School Board and District Administration remain committed to doing everything within our power to make sure that our students receive the highest quality education possible. We are committed to providing opportunities for students that enrich their education while supporting their social and emotional growth. We hope that you will get involved in our community and school district that is steeped in tradition and school spirit. We have many opportunities to get involved from advisory committees and booster clubs to PTOs, informational events, and community activities. Our Prosper Promise is a district initiative designed to provide multiple avenues for our students, staff, parents, and community to partner with the district as we continue to grow. Welcome to Prosper! We look forward to serving your family! On behalf of the Prosper ISD Board of Trustees,
Drew Wilborn

Social and Emotional Health Human connection is a key component to positive emotional health and personal growth. Prosper ISD is committed to the belief that a sense of belonging to a greater community improves an individual’s motivation, health, and happiness. The district is committed to ensuring positive social emotional health for the whole child, believing that social emotional learning is a valuable investment in our students’ futures. Ultimately, this will help to meet the goal that all Prosper ISD students graduate as contributing members of society in whatever capacity they choose.
23
Health
Social & Emotional TeleHealth
Prosper ISD partners with Children’s Health to provide schoolbased telehealth for students. The program provides students who become ill at school with convenient, on-site access to Children’s Health providers. With a completed consent form and parent permission and at the recommendation of the school nurse, video technology is used to connect the student with a doctor or pediatric nurse practitioner at Children’s Health. In most cases, the student can be diagnosed and have prescriptions sent to a pharmacy, all without having to leave school for a doctor’s appointment or the parent having to leave work. Prompt examination and treatment by a provider reduces absenteeism and helps keep children in school - healthy, and ready to learn.
TeleBehavioral Health
Prosper ISD also partners with Children’s Health for schoolbased Telebehavioral Health Services. Students can receive telebehavioral counseling during the school day from a Children’s Health provider at no cost to families.
Hope Squad

Parent Seminars
Prosper ISD hosts four parent education opportunities each year focused on health and wellness. This year, each campus will host at least two “Coffee with the Counselor” events to discuss campus-specific needs.

tip411
No Bully Zone

The internet-based communication system gives students or any concerned citizen a means to quickly and anonymously report threats, potential self-harm, concerns, suspicious or criminal behavior both at school and after school hours. When you submit a tip, it is sent to a third-party tip service acting as a privacy buffer between you and the Prosper ISD Police Department to preserve your identity and contact information. If you have a tip for the Prosper ISD Police Department please go to prosper-isd.net/tip411 for options to submit a tip.
Prosper ISD prohibits bullying on school property, at school-sponsored or school-related activities, or in any vehicle operated by the district. Bullying may be verbal or written expression or expression through electronic means or physical conduct. Bullying is not tolerated by the district and any student or parent of a student who believes that the student or another student has experienced bullying or that a student has engaged in bullying is encouraged to immediately report the incident (prosper-isd.net/nobullyzone). Retaliation against anyone involved in the complaint process is a violation of district policy and is prohibited. Human Resources The quality of instruction provided in a classroom or on a campus is directly correlated to the quality of educational professionals providing the collaborative service. To this end, Prosper ISD is committed to recruiting and hiring the best educators available.
What do I like most about Prosper ISD? The teachers! They are hands down the BEST! The teachers in Prosper ISD are exceptional and work hard to reach each and every individual student. I have never in my life experienced teachers that genuinely care about and go above and beyond for the students that they serve. They are dedicated, hard-working, compassionate and approachable. With each year that passes, I have the joy of watching my kids build relationships with their teachers in addition to learning academically. So thankful to be part of a district where teachers care so deeply and put students first! ~ Laura Caufield, Prosper High & Reynolds Parent

Educator Profile
The collective stakeholders and communities that are served by Prosper ISD strive for the Prosper ISD Educator to be a model for the students of the district in their academic abilities and drive, in their constant pursuit of challenges and learning opportunities, in their well-rounded experiences, in their fair and respectful treatment of others, and in their contributions towards the community through their involvement.
28
Leadership Profile
The Prosper ISD Leadership Profile designates the attributes necessary to ensure leaders have the greatest impact on the school community. The profile provides clarity and direction to both current and aspiring leaders at all levels of the organization. The qualities of a Leader include: • a shared vision • cultivates leadership • confident & relatable • exemplifies self-awareness • professional communication • receptive to constructive criticism • builds relationships • lifelong learning
29
Finding Future Leaders As one of the fastest growing districts in the nation, the hiring of quality personnel to fill the many teaching, administrative, and support positions in the district can be quite an endeavor. Prosper ISD has made a commitment to actively recruit the best and most qualified educators. The Prosper ISD application process is quite comprehensive. In addition to a normal written (digital) application that asks for candidates’ education, experience, and references, the district asks them to comment on how the Educator Profile aligns with their own educational philosophy. The district employs a candidate assessment
30
that was developed to help learn more about a candidates’ attitudinal, cognitive, and pedagogy knowledge and skills as well as utilizing a digital interviewing program that allows campus and district administrators to virtually “meet” all candidates and hear their thoughts on questions specifically designed for each position. Using all of these tools, administrators are best able to determine which candidates they should invite in for an interview (virtual or in-person). As always, HR also ensures that all candidates who are recommended for hire have all of the proper certifications and requirements to serve as educators in Prosper ISD.
Facilities During times of rapid growth, one of the first areas to be impacted is the physical facilities. Whether considering a school is over capacity or lacks program facilities to meet the growing needs of student involvement, facilities are a focal point that must be assessed. Prosper ISD is committed to providing high quality learning facilities for our students and staff while also developing a solid plan for creating equity and efficiency in regards to programs and facility use in a time of rapid growth.

Volunteering Prosper ISD is thankful for our many volunteers. To ensure the safety and security of our students and staff, Prosper ISD requires a background check for each volunteer every school year. This background check will suffice for all volunteer activities at all Prosper ISD campuses. If you have children on multiple campuses, you only need to submit one background check. A background check is not required when visiting a campus to eat lunch with your child; however, you will need to bring your driver’s license with you.
