UN PUERTO LLENO DE VIDA A LIVELY HARBOUR EIN HAFEN VOLLER LEBEN [ CORINNA GRAF, Consejera Delegada ]

os eventos más recientes celebrados en Puerto Portals nos llenan de felicidad, tanto por el gran número de personas que han venido a vivirlos y disfrutarlos con nosotros, como por la amplia repercusión mediática que han tenido. En su segunda edición, Prêt-a-Portals Fashion Weekend ha vuelto a llenar nuestro puerto de grandes nombres del mundo de la moda, algo de lo que se han hecho eco las principales revistas de estilo y tendencias nacionales y europeas. En cuanto a la primera edición de Sankt Martin, la masiva afluencia de familias de toda Mallorca ha superado nuestras expectativas, algo que queremos agradecer a todos los papás y mamás que disfrutaron por unas horas con sus pequeños, haciendo manualidades, merendando y disfrutando con el cuentacuentos. Eventos como los mencionados, además de nuestro exitoso Christmas Market, que es ya una referencia dentro de Mallorca, tienen como objetivo desestacionalizar la temporada y llenar de vida Puerto Portals durante todo el año. En este sentido, estamos todos entusiasmados con el Campeonato del Mundo de la clase Transpac 52 que, entre el 13 y el 18 de julio de 2015, se disputará en aguas de Puerto Portals dentro del circuito de las 52 SUPER SERIES. Volver, tras algunos años, a celebrar una gran regata de prestigio mundial en nuestro puerto, es un motivo de orgullo para todos. Deseo de corazón que disfrute de la lectura de esta edición de nuestra revista, esperando verle muy pronto en Puerto Portals.

he most recent events held in Puerto Portals fill us with happiness, both for the large numbers of people who came to experience and enjoy them with us, and for the far-reaching media repercussions they have had. For the second time Prêt-a-Portals Fashion Weekend once again filled up our port with big names from the world of fashion, and this was echoed in the main Spanish and European trend and style magazines. And for the very first Sankt Martin, the huge influx of families from all over Mallorca exceeded our expectations, something we would like to say thank you for to all the mums and dads who enjoyed themselves with their children here for a few hours, doing handicrafts, having a snack and listening to the storyteller. Events like those mentioned, and our successful Christmas Market, which is now famous in Mallorca, are designed to deseasonalize the tourism market and fill Puerto Portals with life all year round. Along the same lines, we are all excited about the Transpac 52 World Championship that is due to be held in the waters of Puerto Portals from13th to 18th July 2015 as part of the 52 SUPER SERIES circuit. The fact that our port is once again the venue for a large, internationally-prestigious regatta is a source of pride to us all. I sincerely hope that you enjoy reading this issue of our magazine, and also hope to see you in Puerto Portals very soon. PUERTO 6 PORTALS

n den vergangenen Wochen war Puerto Portals Gastgeber verschiedener Events. Für uns ein Grund zur Freude, zum einen aufgrund der vielen Besucher, die die Veranstaltungen mit uns gemeinsam genossen haben, zum anderen wegen des groβen Medienechos. Die zweite Ausgabe des Prêt-a-Portals Fashion Weekend zog viele Gäste in unseren Hafen. Namhafte Modedesigner waren angereist, renommierte spanische und europäische Modemagazine berichteten. Zum ersten Mal haben wir die Vorweihnachtszeit in Puerto Portals mit einem Sankt Martin Fest eingeläutet. Die Besucherzahlen dieses Familientages haben unsere Erwartungen weit übertroffen und wir möchten an dieser Stelle allen Eltern und Kindern danken. Auf dem Programm standen Workshops, Märchenerzählen und natürlich Weihnachtsplätzchen naschen. Die genannten Events und unser erfolgreicher Weihnachtsmarkt, der mittlerweile einen festen Platz in der Kulturagenda Mallorcas hat, sollen die Abhängigkeit von der Tourismussaison reduzieren und den Hafen Puerto Portals das ganze Jahr über mit Leben erfüllen. In diesem Zusammenhang freuen wir uns ganz besonders, Gastgeber der Weltmeisterschaft der Transpac 52 innerhalb der SUPER SERIES zu sein, die vom 13. bis 18. Juli 2015 in Puerto Portals stattfinden wird. Dass nach einigen Jahren der “Abstinenz” wieder eine international so prestigeträchtige Regatta in unserem Hafen ausgetragen wird, erfüllt uns alle mit Stolz. El primero de todos ha sido retomar un evento deportivo de primer nivel, algo que será una realidad en 2015 con la disputa del Campeonato del Mundo de TP52 en Puerto Portals. Después, conseguir la excelencia en todos los servicios que ofrece el puerto, marinería, zona comercial, espacios naturales… Que nuestros clientes se encuentren con un lugar de primera categoría. Se ha referido a la regata de TP52, una de las más impresionantes del mundo. Con su celebración, ¿se recupera una parte importante de la esencia de la marina? Sí, sin duda. Regatas como la Breitling, la Riva o el Campeonato del Mundo de Offshore, celebradas hace años, forman parte del ADN de Puerto Portals. Con la Regata de los Transpac 52, volvemos a colocarnos en el primer nivel deportivo, social e institucional, logrando que todo el mundo quiera estar en Puerto Portals. Usted ha sido con anterioridad capitán de varios puertos importantes en España. Tras unos meses en su actual cargo,

The very first one has been to resume a top sporting event, something that will be a reality in 2015 when the TP52 World Championship is held in Puerto Portals. And then, to attain excellence in all the services the port offers: port personnel services, shopping area, natural spaces… So that our clients find themselves in a first-class space. You mentioned the TP52 regatta, one of the most impressive in the world. As the venue for it, does the marina recover a significant part of its essence? Yes, without a doubt. Regattas like Breitling, Riva or the World Offshore Championship, held years ago, form part of Puerto Portals’ DNA. With the Transpac 52 regatta we once again position ourselves on the top sporting, social and institutional plane, making everyone want to come to Puerto Portals. You were previously captain of several important Spanish ports. After a few months in your present post, why do you believe Puerto Portals is a reference in the Mediterranean? PUERTO 9 PORTALS

Als erstes wollten wir wieder ein Top-Sportevent in unseren Hafen holen und dies ist uns mit der Weltmeisterschaft der TP52 gelungen, die 2015 in Puerto Portals ausgetragen wird. Auβerdem wollen wir unseren Gästen Spitzenservice bieten, ob in den Hafen- und Grünanlagen oder im Shoppingcenter. Alle Besucher sollen sich in unserem noblen Yachthafen wohlfühlen. Sie haben die Regatta TP52 erwähnt, die als eine der spektakulärsten der Welt gilt. Wird mit der Austragung des Events ein wichtiges Herzstück des Wassersports zurückgewonnen? Ganz ohne Zweifel. Events, wie die BreitlingRegatta, die Riva oder die Offshore-WM, die früher hier stattfanden, gehören zur „DNA“ des Hafens. Als Gastgeber der TP52 bewegen wir uns wieder an der Spitze, sowohl auf sportlicher und gesellschaftlicher als auch auf institutioneller Ebene. Jeder will in Puerto Portals dabei sein. Sie waren Hafenkapitän in einigen bedeutenden spanischen Häfen. Nach den ersten Monaten in ihrer neuen Position –

¿Por qué cree que Puerto Portals es una referencia en el Mediterráneo? Los 28 años de trayectoria son espectaculares. Puerto Portals es hoy en día una gran marca a nivel mundial por la categoría de los barcos que vienen, su procedencia y estatus. Y no vienen sólo por nuestros amarres, o la calidad de los restaurantes o las tiendas: vienen porque es Puerto Portals. Y su atractivo, como marca y como ambiente, es incomparable al resto. Además de Prêt-à-Portals (con una amplia cobertura en esta edición de la revista), la puesta en marcha del aparcamiento es otro de los grandes hitos del año. Nos congratula que la gran mayoría de clientes y comerciantes de Puerto Portals aplaudan esta medida. El aparcamiento no se ha instaurado con fines recaudatorios, sino para tener un mayor control y, sobre todo, para facilitar la rotación de coches y que con ello aumente el dinamismo de la vida en el puerto. Ha sido una medida muy positiva para todos. ¿Adónde se remonta su amor por el mar? Empecé a navegar con 6 años, en el único barco que he tenido en toda mi vida, un optimist que yo mismo vendí con 12 años. A pesar de no haber tenido más barcos, he navegado toda mi vida, por todos los océanos del mundo, y he tenido la suerte de, con los años y las experiencias, convertir mi hobby en mi profesión. De hecho, y a pesar de estar el día entero rodeado de barcos, cuando tengo vacaciones me encanta salir a navegar con mi familia durante semanas.

Its 28 years of history are spectacular. Puerto Portals is now a great international brand, because of the level of the boats that come here, where they come from and their status. And they do not come for our moorings alone, or the quality of the restaurants or the shops: they come because it’s Puerto Portals. And its draw, as a brand and an ambience, is in a different league to the rest. Along with Prêt-à-Portals (which is widely covered in this issue of the magazine), the start-up of the car park is another of the great landmarks of the year. We are extremely pleased that the vast majority of Puerto Portals’ customers and shopkeepers applaud this measure. The car park has not been established with the aim of raising funds, but in order to keep better control, and above all to facilitate a rotation of cars which will make life in the port more dynamic. This is an extremely positive measure for all. Where does your love of the sea come fro m? I began sailing at the age of six, in the only boat I have owned in my entire life, an optimist that I myself sold when I was twelve. But in spite of never having had other boats, I have sailed my whole life, on all the oceans in the world, and I have been fortunate enough, with time and experience, to be able to turn my hobby into my profession. In fact, even though I spend all day surrounded by boats, when I am on holiday I love going out to sail for weeks with my family. PUERTO 10 PORTALS

Und sie kommen nicht nur wegen der Liegeplätze oder der luxuriösen Restaurants und Boutiquen, sie kommen, weil es Puerto Portals ist. Und Puerto Portals ist als Marke, in seiner Atmosphäre und seiner Attraktivität unübertroffen. Auβer der in dieser Ausgabe gebührend gewürdigten Prêt-à-Portals ist auch das kostenpflichtige Parken am Hafen ein Novum. Wir haben das Parken nicht kostenpflichtig gemacht, um Geld einzunehmen, sondern, um eine bessere Kontrolle zu haben, vor allem jedoch, um die Fluktuation der Autos zu fördern und das Leben im Hafen dynamischer zu gestalten. Alles in allem hat sich dies für alle als positiv erwiesen. Woher kommt Ihre Liebe zum Meer? Ich fing mit sechs an zu segeln, mit einer Optimist, das einzige Boot, das ich in meinem Leben gehabt habe. Als ich zwölf war, verkaufte ich die Jolle. Auch wenn ich selbst kein Boot habe, bin ich mein ganzes Leben über die Ozeane gesegelt. Ich hatte das Glück, im Laufe der Jahre und durch meine Erfahrung, mein Hobby zum Beruf machen zu können. Obwohl ich den ganzen Tag von Yachten umgeben bin, segle ich am liebsten wochenlang mit meiner Familie.

En esta ocasión, el evento ha contado con el apoyo de cinco maestros de la moda española como son Ángel Schlesser, Roberto Torretta, Juan Vidal, Lydia Delgado y el mallorquín José Miró, que han vestido con prendas de las boutiques de la marina a Judit Mascó, Juan Betancourt, Clara Alonso, Teresa Baca y Bimba Bosé. El fin de semana de Prêt-àPortals Fashion Weekend, celebrado del 31 de octubre al 2 de noviembre, ha estado cargado de experiencias en torno al mundo de la moda, como el shooting en directo junto al mar inmortalizado por el prestigioso fotógrafo Gorka Postigo.

On this occasion the event was supported by five masters of Spanish fashion, Ángel Schlesser, Roberto Torretta, Juan Vidal, Lydia Delgado and Mallorcan José Miró, who dressed models Judit Mascó, Juan Betancourt, Clara Alonso, Teresa Baca y Bimba Bosé using clothes from boutiques in the marina. The Prêt-àPortals Fashion Weekend, which was held from 31st October to 2nd November, was rich in experiences revolving around the world of fashion, like the live fashion shoot beside the sea immortalised by prestigious photographer Gorka Postigo. ué le ha llevado a participar en esta segunda edición de Prêtà-Portals? J.M. Me pareció una idea muy diferente. Conozco a Javier Escobar desde que hice mis primeros desfiles. Él me propuso la idea porque sabía que me encantaría ya que ha estado a mi lado durante toda mi carrera. Sabía que sería algo especial y acepté. P.P. ¿Qué opina del formato live-shooting? J.M. Enseñar qué hay detrás de una sesión de fotos de moda, el maquillaje, la peluquería, las tomas falsas, y que esté abierto al público, me parece que tiene mucho encanto y hace partícipe a la gente. P.P. Roberto Torretta ha sido el encargado de elegir la vestimenta que ha lucido en esta edición de Prêt-à-Portals. ¿Cómo es trabajar con él? J.M. Nos conocemos desde hace muchos años y para mí es muy buena persona, cariñoso y, sobre todo, se le nota que le gusta vestir a la mujer. Él diseñó mi vestido para la última edición de la gala de los premios “T de moda”, de la revista Telva. P.P. ¿Cómo ve el panorama de la moda española actual? J.M. Seguimos en tiempos difíciles, pero yo creo que hay que invertir tanto en cultura como en moda, porque está demostrado que en tiempos de bonanza este sector genera muchos puestos de trabajo. P.P. ¿Cuáles son sus próximos proyectos? J.M. Me estoy dedicando sobre todo a la publicidad. Tengo un contrato muy importante con la firma L’Oreal y estoy firmando varias campañas con otras marcas que saldrán en los próximos meses. P.P. Como madre de cuatro hijas, ¿le gustaría que siguieran sus pasos en el mundo de la moda? J.M. Quiero que ellas hagan lo que deseen de verdad, y yo las apoyaré siempre, elijan lo que elijan. P.P. Sabemos que ha visitado Puerto Portals en varias ocasiones, ¿cuál es su relación con la marina? J.M. Tuve la suerte de ser la imagen de una marca cuando se celebraban las regatas, por lo que tuve que venir durante varios años y tengo muy buenos recuerdos.

hat led you to take part in the second Prêt-à-Portals? J.M. It seemed like a very different idea to me. I have known Javier Escobar since my very first fashion shows – he has been beside me throughout my whole career, which is why he suggested it to me. He knew it would be something really special, so I agreed. P.P. What do you think of the liveshooting format? J.M. I think that showing everything that lies behind a fashion shoot – the make-up, hairdressing, the outtakes, and the fact that it is open to the public - is spellbinding, and it encourages people to take part. P.P. Roberto Torretta has been in charge of choosing the clothes sported by models in this year’s Prêt-à-Portals. What is he like to work with? J.M. We’ve known each other for many years and in my opinion he is a very kind, warm person and above all, you can tell that he likes to dress women. He designed my dress for the last “T de moda” awards gala, by Telva magazine. P.P. What is your view of the Spanish fashion scene today? J.M. We are still passing through a difficult phase, but I believe money should be invested in both culture and fashion, because there is evidence that this sector generates numerous jobs when the economy is buoyant. P.P. What are your next projects? J.M. I am working in advertising, above all. I have an extremely important contract with L’Oreal and I am signing several campaigns with other brands that will be released over coming months. P.P. As the mother of four daughters, would you like them to follow in your footsteps in the world of fashion? J.M. I want them to do whatever it is they really want to, and I will always support them, whatever they choose. P.P. We know you have visited Puerto Portals on several occasions. What kind of connection do you have to the marina? J.M. I was fortunate enough to be a brand image when the regattas were being held, so I had to come here for several years and I still have some very good memories of that period. PUERTO 29 PORTALS

Ich halte es für reizvoll, wenn die Besucher sehen können, was hinter einer Fotosession steckt: das Schminken, Frisieren, die inszenierten Aufnahmen. Das lockt die Leute an. P.P. Roberto Torretta hat die Kollektion ausgewählt, die Sie bei der Prêt-à-Portals vorgestellt haben. Wie ist es, mit ihm zu arbeiten? J.M. Wir kennen uns seit vielen Jahren, Roberto ist ein toller, liebevoller Mensch. Man merkt sofort, dass er Frauen gern einkleidet. Er hat auch mein Kleid für die letzte Gala der „T de moda“- Preise des Magazins Telva entworfen. P.P. Wie schätzen Sie die aktuelle Modeszene in Spanien ein? J.M. Wir leben weiter in schwierigen Zeiten, aber ich glaube, man sollte trotzdem in Kultur und Mode investieren, schlieβlich schafft die Modebranche in Boomjahren zahlreiche Arbeitsplätze. P. P. W e l c h e P r o j e k t e s t e h e n a l s nächstes an? J.M. Ich bin vor allem in der Werbung tätig, habe einen gut dotierten Vertrag mit L’Oreal und verhandele Werbekampagnen mit anderen Labels, die in den kommenden Monaten zu sehen sein werden. P.P. Sie sind Mutter von vier Mädchen. Würden Sie es gern sehen, wenn die Mädchen in Ihre Fuβstapfen träten? J.M. Ich wünsche mir, dass sie das tun, was sie wirklich tun möchten. Und, egal wofür sie sich entscheiden, ich werde sie immer unterstützen. P.P. Sie haben Puerto Portals bereits mehrmals besucht. Gefällt Ihnen der Hafen? J.M. Ich hatte das Glück, während der Regatten für eine Marke unter Vertrag zu sein und so bin ich einige Jahre immer wieder nach Puerto Portals gekommen. Ich habe schöne Erinnerungen an diese Zeit im Hafen.

e gusta el formato live-shooting empleado en Prêt-à-Portals? R.T. El live-shooting permite mucha acción y la interacción con la pareja creativa, en este caso, Judit Mascó. Es arriesgado, pero en parte ese es el encanto del directo. Todos estamos más naturales. P.P. ¿En qué se ha inspirado para crear los looks para esta edición de Prêt-à-Portals? R.T. En un evento así, los diseñadores jugamos a ser estilistas. He escogido distintas marcas para crear un look que refleje el estilo “Torretta”. Una falda y una camisa de cuero no podían faltar. P.P. ¿Cómo es trabajar con Judit Mascó? R.T. Judit es una profesional que ya ha hecho de todo en su carrera. Es bellísima y transmite una energía entrañable. No ha cambiado en más de veinte años que lleva de profesión. Cada día está más guapa. P.P. ¿Cuáles son sus proyectos para los próximos meses? R.T. Vamos a lanzar una nueva línea de perfumes, además de vestidos de novia y trajes de comunión, y las colecciones de temporada. La idea es ofrecer distintas gamas de los diseños que hacemos para llegar a más público. P.P. ¿Qué cree que le falta a la moda española para entrar en más mercados? R.T. Creo en la internacionalización porque vivimos en un mundo global. Para seguir adelante debemos casar diseño e industria, y modernizar la segunda. Esa es nuestra asignatura pendiente. P.P. ¿Qué opina de Puerto Portals? R.T. En un entorno como éste, con unas tiendas con una oferta fantástica y con este clima del que disfruta la isla en otoño, es el espacio es ideal para celebrar eventos como Prêt-à-Portals. P.P. ¿Cuál es su relación con Mallorca? ¿Visita la isla a menudo? R.T. He ido más veces a Ibiza, pero cuando me han invitado aquí he tenido la suerte de que me llevaran a conocer calas estupendas. Y Palma me parece una ciudad preciosa.

It’s risky, but in a way that is the charm of working live. We are all more natural. P.P. Where did you find inspiration to create the looks for this year’s Prêt-à-Portals? R.T. In an event like this, designers have to be stylists. I chose different brands to create a look that reflects the “Torretta” style. A leather shirt and skirt were essential. P.P. What is it like to work with Judit Mascó? R.T. Judit is a professional who has done everything in her career. She is extremely beautiful and she transmits a loveable energy. She hasn’t changed in the more than twenty years she has been in the profession. She looks better every day. P.P. What are your projects for the next few months? R.T. We are going to launch a new line of perfumes, as well as wedding dresses and communion outfits, and the seasonal collections. The idea is to offer different ranges of the designs we make in order to reach more people. P.P. What do you think Spanish fashion needs to be able to enter more markets? R.T. I believe in internationalisation because we live in a global world. To move forward, we need to unite design and industry, and modernise the latter. We still have work to do in this area. P.P. What do you think of Puerto Portals? R.T. In a setting like this, with shops offering a fantastic range of articles and this climate the island enjoys in autumn, it is the ideal space in which to hold events like Prêt-à-Portals. P.P. What relationship do you have with Mallorca? Do you visit the island often? R.T. I have visited Ibiza more, but when I have been invited here I have been fortunate enough to be taken to discover wonderful coves. And I think Palma is a lovely city. PUERTO 30 PORTALS

Wie war die Arbeit mit Judit Mascó? R.T. Judit ist ein Vollprofi, der schon viele Dinge gemacht hat. Sie ist eine wunderschöne Frau, strahlt so eine herzliche Energie aus. In den mehr als 20 Jahren ihrer Karriere hat sie sich überhaupt nicht verändert, sie wird mit jedem Tag schöner. P.P. Welche Projekte wollen Sie in den kommenden Monaten umsetzen? R.T. Wir bringen eine neue Parfümlinie auf den Markt, dazu neue Kollektionen von Brautund Kommunionskleidern und die Kollektionen für die Saison. Unsere Idee ist, mit einer vielfältigen Palette an Designangeboten ein breiteres Publikum zu erreichen. P.P. Wie könnte die Modeindustrie Spaniens neue Märkte erschlieβen? R.T. Ich glaube an die Internationalisierung, schlieβlich leben wir in einer globalisierten Welt. Um neue Märkte zu erschlieβen müssen wir Design und Industrie miteinander verknüpfen und letztere modernisieren. Dieses Problem müssen wir lösen. P.P. Wie gefällt Ihnen Puerto Portals? R.T. Der Hafen ist mit der zauberhaften Umgebung, den Nobelgeschäften und ihrem erlesenen Angebot und dem milden Klima der Insel im Herbst.der perfekte Ort für Events wie die Prêt-à-Portals. P.P. Besuchen Sie Mallorca oft? R.T. Ich war öfter auf Ibiza, aber immer, wenn mich jemand nach Mallorca eingeladen hat, habe ich wunderschöne Buchten entdeckt. Und Palma halte ich für eine tolle Stadt.

VOLVO OCEAN RACE La Royal Naval Sailing Association organizó por primera vez una competición de vuelta al mundo a vela en 1973 bajo el nombre Whitbread Round the World, designación que cambió por temas de patrocinio. Actualmente se celebra cada tres años. Su primera edición duró 152 días en una ruta de 27.000 millas náuticas y los marineros participantes todavía no sabían a lo que se enfrentaban. En el camino se encontraron con vientos de más de 40 nudos e icebergs de más de 100 metros. Tres de ellos perdieron la vida. A pesar de la catástrofe, esta primera edición marcó el futuro exitoso de las regatas transoceánicas. Uno de los personajes más importantes de esta primera edición fue Iwona Pienkawa, la primera mujer en completar la vuelta. Tenía 18 años.

VOLVO OCEAN RACE The Royal Naval Sailing Association organised a round-the-world sailing competition for the first time in 1973, under the name of Whitbread Round the World, a title that changed for sponsorship reasons. It is now held every three years. The first race lasted 152 days, on a route of 27,000 nautical miles, and the sailors who took part did not yet know what they were up against. On the way, they were met by winds of over 40 knots and icebergs measuring more than 100 metres. Three of them lost their lives. In spite of the catastrophe, this first race marked the successful future of transocean regattas. Bei der ersten 152 Tage dauernden Ausgabe mussten die Teilnehmer 27.000 Seemeilen bewältigen, wobei die Sportler nicht wussten, was sie erwartete: Windstärken von mehr als 40 Knoten und mehr als 100 Meter hohe Eisberge; drei Teilnehmer starben. Trotz der Katastrophe begann mit dem Rennen der Aufstieg der erfolgreichen transozeanischen Wettfahrten. Eine der herausragenden Seglerinnen der ersten Regatta war die damals 18-jährige Iwona Pienkawa, die als erste Frau die Reise um die Welt schaffte.

MINI TRANSAT 6.50 Atravesar el Atlántico en un velero de 6,50 metros de eslora es la esencia de esta regata de vela, nacida de la mano del británico Bob Salmon en 1977. Una competición en la que hasta la fecha han participado más de 850 marineros en soledad, sin ayuda de motores ni generadores y que recorre 1.000 millas náuticas sin escalas. Los participantes pueden llegar a pasar tres semanas sin pisar tierra firme. Solamente desde 1993 se permite la utilización de GPS por motivos de seguridad. Desde 2001 finaliza en las Islas Canarias.

MINI TRANSAT 6.50 Crossing the Atlantic in a sailing boat measuring 6.5 metres in length is the essence of this sailing regatta created by Britain’s Bob Salmon in 1977. A competition over 850 solo sailors have taken part in to date, without the help of engines or generators, and one covering 1,000 nautical miles nonstop. VENDÉE GLOBE A solo round-the-world trip, non-stop and no assistance. A very harsh race, only for sportsmen and women who are physically and mentally prepared and capable of surviving more than three months on the high seas. The first race took place in 1989, with its origins in the Sunday Times Golden Globe Race and the BOC Challenge. It has been at four-year intervals ever since. Its name comes from the name of the town of the departure and finish port, Le Sablesd’Olonne en Vendée, France. The next race is due to take place in 2016.

La joven regata nacida en 2007 partirá de nuevo del puerto de Barcelona el 31 de diciembre de 2014 para recorrer 24.000 millas náuticas hasta marzo de 2015. BARCELONA WORLD RACE Two crew members and one round-the-world trip. This young regatta, created in 2007, will be leaving the port of Barcelona again on 31st December 2014 to cover 24,000 nautical miles, until March of 2015. Over this time, the sailors will pass through 12 climate zones and sail on three oceans. The participant boats are the fastest monohulls (IMOCA 60) and authentic giants of the sea, as tall as a ten-storey building. Their sails could cover the surface of three tennis courts. Die erste Ausgabe 1989 hatte ihren Ursprung in der Sunday Times Golden Globe Race und der BOC Challenge. Seitdem wird die Vendée Globe alle vier Jahre ausgetragen, die nächste Ausgabe findet 2016 statt. Der Name kommt übrigens vom Hafen Le Sables-d’Olonne im französischen Vendée, dem Start und Ziel des Rennens. Steve Callahan aprovechó su supervivencia a un naufragio durante 76 días para escribir el libro “A la deriva”. En sus páginas relata sus vivencias en alta mar y en el barco que él mismo diseñó y construyó. El “Napoleón Solo” partió de la isla de Hierro, en las Islas Canarias, en 1982. Una tormenta dejó a Callahan sin embarcación y llegó a cruzar el Atlántico en bote salvavidas hasta llegar a la costa caribeña. En 1973, una ballena obligó a Marilyn y Maurice Bailey a abandonar su yate y pasar 117 días en un bote hinchable. El matrimonio gastó todos sus ahorros y vendió su casa para emprender el viaje de su vida, una travesía desde Inglaterra hasta Nueva Zelanda. En el libro que escribieron tras su rescate comentan que se alimentaban principalmente de peces voladores que caían dentro de la lancha. Tras ver cómo fallecían 43 marineros en el Canal de la Mancha en 1952, el médico francés Alain Bombard, decidió hallar soluciones de supervivencia a naufragios de larga duración. Así, decidió vivir la experiencia en primera persona y, voluntariamente, se embarcó en un primer viaje “de prueba” por las costas de Mónaco y Baleares, para después viajar en solitario por el Atlántico con un bote de menos de 5 metros de eslora. El atleta Louis Zamperini participó en los Juegos Olímpicos de Berlín en 1936. ¿Quién le iba a decir que tras su alistamiento en las Fuerzas Aéreas su avión cayera al mar? Junto a dos compañeros más sobrevivió 47 días en una balsa rodeada de tiburones. Al tomar tierra y creer en su salvación, fueron a parar a un campo de prisioneros japonés en las Islas Marshall. Por último, los pescadores de tiburones mexicanos Lucio Rendón, Salvador Ordóñez y Jesús Vidaña salieron del puerto de San Blas en 2005 y estuvieron 286 días a la deriva comiendo pescado y pájaros hasta que les rescató un barco atunero taiwanés a 8.000 kilómetros de México.

Nachdem er mitansehen musste, wie 43 Matrosen 1952 im Ärmelkanal ertranken, machte es sich der französische Arzt Alain Bombard zur Aufgabe, Überlebensstrategien für Schiffbrüchige zu finden. Und so startete er freiwillig allein zu seiner „Jungfernfahrt“ entlang der marokkanischen und balearischen Küste. Später kreuzte er, ebenfalls allein, den Atlantik, in einem Boot mit weniger als fünf Metern Kiellänge. Der Leichtathlet Louis Zamperini nahm 1936 an den Olympischen Spielen in Berlin teil. Im Zweiten Weltkrieg, nach seiner Einberufung in die US Air Force, wurde sein Bomber abgeschossen. Zusammen mit zwei Kameraden überlebte er 47 Tage in einem von Haien umzingelten Rettungsboot. Die Schiffbrüchigen erreichten die Marshall-Inseln, doch dort wurden sie nicht gerettet, sondern landeten in einem japanischen Lager für Kriegsgefangene. Last, but not least: die mexikanischen Haifischer Lucio Rendón, Salvador Ordóñez und Jesús Vidaña liefen 2005 vom Hafen San Blas aus. Genau 286 Tage trieben sie auf hoher See und ernährten sich von Fischen und Vögeln, bis sie schlieβlich von einem taiwanesischen Thunfisch-Boot rund 8.000 Kilometer von Mexiko entfernt gerettet wurden.

Muy pronto pasó a ser el deporte noble de reyes y califas. A Inglaterra llegó desde Manipur, en India, en el siglo XIX. Un político británico escribió una reseña sobre el deporte que se practicaba en este país y se empezó a popularizar. Así los ingleses quedaron prendados de este deporte y empezaron a practicarlo. Después cruzaría el Atlántico para llegar a América y popularizarse sobre todo en Argentina. En España lo introdujo la familia Murrieta, que estableció el primer club en Jerez. En Mallorca, la inmobiliaria Engel & Völkers organiza cada año en la finca de Son Coll un torneo solidario que se ha convertido en el evento socio-deportivo del año.

Año a año aumentan las actividades y el número de casetas: de gastronomía, productos artesanales, decoración, bisutería y complementos, cosmética, calzado de piel ecológica y mucho más. El calendario de actividades diarias para pequeños y adultos incluye talleres navideños, música en vivo, actuaciones de colegios, Papá Noel, Cabalgata de los Reyes Magos, etc. Abierto todos los días de 12 a 21 horas, y del 15 al 19 de diciembre, de 16 a 21 horas. El día 1 de enero permanecerá cerrado.

Auf dem Programm stehen Workshops mit Weihnachtsbasteleien für Kinder und Erwachsene, Livemusik und Auftritte von Schulklassen. Natürlich werden auch der Weihnachtsmann und die Heiligen Drei Könige dem Markt einen Besuch abstatten. Öffnungszeiten: täglich von 12 bis 21 Uhr und vom 15. bis 19. Dezember von 16 bis 21 Uhr. Am 1. XI ORIS RALLY CLÁSICO EN PUERTO PORTALS

ntre el 12 y el 14 de marzo de 2015 se disputará la úndecima edición del Oris Rally Clásico, que una año más volverá a tener como sede Puerto Portals. Más de un centenar de coches clásicos llegados de diferentes puntos de Europa podrán ser admirados por los visitantes que en esos días se acerquen hasta el Puerto. Con motivo de una edición tan especial, Puerto Portals ofrecerá un programa de actividades complementarias para niños y adultos durante los tres días del Rally. El Oris Rally Clásico Isla Mallorca es una de las pruebas más emblemáticas del circuito de rallies clásicos internacionales, pues combina la categoría de los vehículos participantes y la competición con los espectaculares paisajes de la isla.

Visitors will be able to admire over a hundred classic cars from different places in Europe on the days they are in the Port. Bei dieser Ausgabe wird es während der Rallye im Hafen ein unterhaltsames Zusatzprogramm für Kinder und Erwachsene geben. Die Oris Oldtimer-Rallye Isla de Mallorca zählt zu den bedeutendsten internationalen Oldtimer-Rennen und bietet einen einzigartigen Mix aus Oldtimern, Wettfahrt und malerischen Insellandschaften.

Entre el 13 y el 18 de julio el “Quantum” estadounidense de Doug de Vos defenderá su título en el Campeonato del Mundo de la clase Transpac 52. Puerto Portals ha sido elegida como sede de esta importante prueba del circuito TP52 Super Series por expreso deseo de muchos de los armadores participantes, que han valorado las “excelentes instalaciones“ de la marina. La actual 52 Super Series es la regata de monotipos en tiempo real más importante del mundo. En el Mundial de Puerto Portals participarán más de una docena de monotipos, que centrarán la atención de todo el mundo náutico por unos días.

Auf Wunsch vieler der teilnehmenden Reeder wurde Puerto Portals aufgrund der „exzellenten Anlagen des Hafens“ als Austragungsort dieser bedeutenden Regatta innerhalb der TP52 Super Series ausgewählt. Die aktuelle 52 Super Series gilt als wichtigste „Formel 1“ der Einrumpfyachten der Welt. An der WM in Puerto Portals werden mehr als ein Dutzend Yachten teilnehmen, die die Blicke der gesamten Nautikwelt für diese Tage auf den Hafen lenken werden.
