FOREVER FRIENDS
ADVENTURE GUIDES & TRAILBLAZERS ADVENTURE GUIDES: GRADES K-4 TRAILBLAZERS: GRADES 5-8 YMCA Adventure Guides and Trailblazers provide opportunities for fathers and their children (sons and/or daughters) to develop strong relationships by participating in group activities exploring the outdoors. Activities include weekend camp outs, day-trips, and more! Families determine their level of involvement and parents can volunteer for leadership roles.
FREE FOR FAMILY MEMBERS!
*Registrations are accepted year-round with a new calendar year July-June.
“I joined Adventure Guides based on the recommendations of a coworker and I’m sure glad that I did! The biggest source of enjoyment is the time I have spent with my son. Watching him go from being timid at the Rock Climbing Walls when we first started to imitating Spiderman routinely going all the way to the top, or learning how to first shoot an arrow at Archery to his first bull’s-eye are the growing-up memories that I will cherish. My son has made close friends in the Guides, as have I, and we have done many other events with our new friends - some of them are neighbors right down the street that we didn’t know before! For the investment in the time spent with Adventure Guides - really time spent with your child or children, the return is priceless!” -Rich, Adventure Guide’s Dad

Check our website or watch for announcements about upcoming Potlucks. “When i fi rst moved from Chicago to San Diego in 2009 to live with my daughter and son-in-law, I wondered what I would do during the day since they both worked. My daughter encouraged me to join the Y and participate in the mid day group exercise classes called “Sit and Get Fit” for the Y Active Adults. I go to these classes three or four times a week and I get a lot of benefi t from all of the exercises we do - most of them while sitting in a chair. I especially enjoy all the friends I have made. So i guess you can say that the Y keeps me young in body, mind, and spirit at the age of 93! -Lillian, YMCA Member

“We have been members for over 17 years at the YMCA and my family and I have attended many Rancho YMCA events and activities. As a parent it is great to see your children proud and excited about being involved at the Rancho YMCA whether it is part of the summer camps, swimming classes or sports activities they always leave with a smile about their adventures or challenges they over came... As a family we can not thank the YMCA enough for their commitment in the community and the amount of other items that they offer. We use the child care watch for daily work outs and the children enjoy the family fitness activities especially boot camp on Thursdays. Overall, my family is proud to be a part of the Rancho YMCA family and we appreciate all that the staff do make our family feel safe and welcomed. -Claudia, YMCA Member

“Our family has been members of the Rancho Family YMCA for two years now, and we have enjoyed the various benefits of our membership. Having a degree and professional background in the healthcare/kinesiology setting, I feel confident taking exercise classes taught by the staff. They all seem knowledgeable not only with the exercises they are teaching, but with the body parts involved and how to maximize efficiency while working out. Victoria is one of the best instructors I have had throughout my years of taking classes with different organizations. She gets to know her clients on a personal level and is then able to push them to the best of their ability. With my professional background, I know what exercises to do and how to do them, but enjoy taking classes with her because I get a better workout than I would by myself. -Sara, YMCA Member
