MISSION STATEMENT We are dedicated to providing and promoting access to an extensive range of print and electronic resources, tools and technologies to: ◦ Support the academic, artistic and recreational needs of the school community ◦ Encourage our staff and students to become competent users of information and independent lifelong learners ◦ Stimulate a love of reading, learning and inquiry


What has changed? Major upgrade to the Primary Library; conversion of the primary non-fiction area to the new look primary fiction area.

LIRC Staff Achievements beyond RCHK Ms Isabel Ho, Library Assistant, graduated from Charles Sturt University Australia with a Bachelor of Information Studies. Ms Shirley Chan, PYP teacher Librarian, became the ALESS Coordinator (The Association of Librarians in English Speaking Schools in Hong Kong). Presented at the South East Asian Librarians Conference in Hong Kong and attended Google Apps for Education summit in Hong Kong. She was part of an ESF curriculum group who developed the ESF PYP Information Literacy Continuum.

Ms Dianne McKenzie, MYP Teacher Librarian, coordinated the South East Asian Librarians Conference in Hong Kong, became an IBEN workshop leader and completed a Certificate of Education in Technology and Information Literacy. Ms Monica Morscheck, PYP DP Teacher Librarian and LIRC Coordinator, presented at 21st Century Learning Conference in Hong Kong and South East Asian Librarians Conference in Hong Kong. LIRC Staff Farewells and Welcomes Farewell to Ms Dianne McKenzie, MYP Teacher Librarian. Ms McKenzie has seen her role as an IB workshop leader expand and she has created her own company, Library Connections, which will see her travelling to schools across the globe to workshop teachers in MYP, ATLs and school librarianship. Welcome to Ms Monica Morscheck, PYP DP Teacher Librarian and LIRC Coordinator. Ms Morscheck most recently comes from The British School, Phuket where she has been a Head of Library Department and E-Learning Coordinator. It is a return to Hong Kong as she worked previously at The German Swiss International School.
