WHAT IS 100% REINKE

CERTIFIED?

Anytime you buy a Reinke product — be it an entire pivot or one part — you can be sure it’s 100% Reinke Certified, which means we stand behind our products. We hold ourselves to a higher standard, from engineering, design and manufacturing, on out to the services our dealerships provide. You don’t want to second-guess your equipment when it comes to putting money in your pocket. Reinke’s tried-andtrue products have built credibility through field-proven results. Through product development and use of materials science, we’re building a better product and a better future. We start with quality raw materials such as high-strength steel. Every piece of our 100% Reinke Certified equipment bears more than our founder’s name. Each employee puts his or her personal stamp on it with pride to support the ag community worldwide.

Page 4

It’s up to us to make sure our dealerships can take care of that system once it’s out in the field — not only the systems they sell, but the systems that have been out in the field for 25, 30 or 40 years.” — Mark Mesloh, Vice President North American Irrigation Sales

Offering well-designed, durable systems wouldn’t get us very far if we didn’t have the service to back it up. Our Reinke dealerships are the service extension of our company, so naturally we provide them with tools and resources to enhance their knowledge of Reinke systems. Only Reinke Certified Dealerships can sell Reinke products. To become certified, dealers attend training at our manufacturing facility in Deshler, Nebraska. Technicians also can increase their knowledge by completing online courses through Reinke’s Learning Management System (LMS). They test to earn their certification and must complete additional courses each year. Reinke offers some of the best warranties in the industry because we have faith in our products. Our warranties and our Certified Dealerships provide you with a great service value, so you can be assured your investment will last. We are helping growers like you produce a world food supply. Our precision ag products help produce high yields while conserving water. We are continually innovating to create solutions and make farming easier for growers worldwide. 100% Reinke Certified is more than just quality products; it’s an ownership of our responsibility to the industry.

INNOVATIVE DESIGN /////////////////////

QUALITY Dependability leads to confidence. You buy new products with the assumption they will remove some hassle from your life. A new smartphone will operate your favorite applications without error. A new car will not need extensive maintenance. A new irrigation system should provide the same dependability — and Reinke pivots do that. Reinke’s mission is to exceed our customers’ expectations of quality, service and innovation. When you buy a Reinke system, it will meet your needs for a generation or longer. On the rare occasion a problem does occur, you can expect great dealership service. Reinke builds products that work. The first Electrogator pivot, Reinke No. 1, was designed by Richard Reinke and built in 1968. It still irrigates crops in Deshler, Nebraska, today. Mr. Reinke is known for creating many of the concepts, inventions and patents used in mechanized irrigation today. We continue to innovate on these concepts. Our single-leg tower design is a case in point. Because of the unique way the tower attaches to the pipes in this design, component fatigue is reduced and system life is improved. Reinke dealerships listen to their customers. Growers’ feedback — gleaned from their time-tested use of Reinke irrigation systems — is incorporated into Reinke’s next generation of equipment.

It’s not that our current or past products aren’t good already. We would be remiss if we didn’t try to outdo ourselves and continually look for opportunities to improve.”

INNOVATION Irrigation has come a long way and Reinke sets the pace with innovative products. We were the first to introduce GPS guidance for swing arms and deliver on-screen controls. Whether you want to control your irrigation system with a smartphone, collect field data, or run a VRI prescription to maximize your yields, there’s a Reinke product for you. Reinke’s engineering and design team includes experts in electronics, computer programming and structural design. Our engineers are involved from the idea’s conception through field testing and writing product specifications. Designing with the customer in mind, they are continually innovating, creating solutions and making farming easier for growers worldwide. Our Preferred Touch panel offers the best in precision irrigation controls on a 10.1-inch touch screen display. This panel is capable of running up to 300,000 independently controlled VRI zones. All Reinke Precision Management control panels are custom built for reliability and trouble-free use and are easy to upgrade and customize.

Page 8

In 2020, we enhanced our Swing Arm Corner (SAC) again and released the electronic swing arm corner. ESAC’s patent pending technology increases water uniformity on all Reinke SAC models, virtually eliminating under and over watering throughout field corners. It uses sequential sprinkler zones and provides electronic zone control based on GPS positioning.

/////////////////////////////

Electronic Swing Arm Corner (ESAC™) provides unmatched uniformity and efficiency. Reinke offers more advanced controls than ever before and it also is easier than ever to operate them. There is no need to be at the control panel to start, stop or change how much water is being applied thanks to ReinCloudŽ, Reinke’s remote management dashboard. The powerful web-based software platform makes monitoring and control features available on your smartphone or tablet. Operate numerous pivots from one location, quickly view weather and sensor data and locate your equipment in the field with the at-a-glance mapping widget.

HIGH-STRENGTH STEEL At Reinke, our processes and people have a lot to do with quality of the end result. This all comes from a good foundation. From the onset, we’ve considered all the raw materials out there and determined high-strength steel makes the best pivots. High-strength steel, combined with superior engineering, has resulted in a system that is lightweight, yet uncompromisingly durable. All our Electrogator II pivots and lateral move systems use highstrength steel. This steel is up to 50% stronger than steel used in competitors’ irrigation systems. High-strength steel results in a stronger structure, weighing up to 20% less. A Reinke system eliminates up to 6,000 pounds of weight compared to our competitors’ machines, resulting in less soil compaction. Three fewer tons means considerably less stress and wear on the system’s drivetrain and other critical system components, helping the system last longer. Less weight and enhanced system flotation reduces rutting so pivots are less likely to get stuck.

Page 10

No one wants to experience downtime during the growing season because of a drivetrain failure. High-strength steel helps to avoid those problems by decreasing the amount of weight on system components, which also gives Reinke the ability to offer outstanding warranties.

////////////////////////////

Thanks to high-strength steel, a Reinke pivot is lighter and has increased system flotation compared to other pivot brands.

With our other systems, we definitely notice more tracking in the field and have more stuck pivots, but the Reinke machines seem to get through the muck and mire. — James Granstrom, Nebraska farmer

INNOVATIVE DESIGN /////////////////////

SINGLE-LEG TOWER If you look at the tower profile of a modern Reinke pivot, you’ll see one piece of steel connecting the wheel base to the top. We call this a single-leg tower. As an innovator in the field, we’ve moved away from the double-angle leg design still used by our competitors. In comparison, our single-leg tower uses one steel piece instead of two, zero cross bracing, and galvanized stiffeners with mere, 3-inch diameters. This creates a tower leg with less surface area to block water. It also allows the pivot to pass through taller crops without causing damage or breakage to the crop. The single-leg tower design doesn’t sacrifice strength or structural integrity; in fact, it enhances them. The Reinke C-channel, single-leg tower uses roll-formed, high-strength galvanized steel — 9-gauge, with a 60,000 psi minimum yield. This highstrength, low-alloy steel is lighter than standard steel.

Page 12

The C-channel leg removes the need for cross bracing, thus eliminating additional weight. Galvanized stiffeners attached to the bottom of the trussing divert stress from the water pipe, distributing it evenly to the entire span. The superior design doesn’t transfer stress directly to the pipe, and it reduces component fatigue, resulting in a longer system life with less maintenance.

Reinke’s C-channel leg eliminates the need for cross-bracing between tower legs.

////////////////////////////

Reinke uses a wider tower base design to increase the stability of the system.

INNOVATIVE DESIGN /////////////////////

FLEX JOINT HOOK & RECEIVER The flex joint hook and receiver is another Reinke engineering innovation, which highlights the care we put into designing our systems. The hook and receiver is a pipe joint that allows our irrigation systems to traverse hilly terrain with minimal impact to water flow. The flex joint hook and receiver is located where the water pipe meets the tower. Our unique joint provides unparalleled rotational movement and flexibility.

Side view, rotational movement

The joint is located inside the pipe and covered by an external, flexible boot that is backed by a 10-year warranty. Why did we place the joint Top view, at the center of the pipe when our side-to-side movement competitors use an external ball-hitch coupler? Well, it’s really just a simple matter of physics; the most efficient place to rotate within a cylinder is directly in the center. The central joint Side view, allows the pipe to remain aligned up-and-down movement with flex or rotation. Because the pipe remains aligned, the boot is not excessively stretched, which enhances the joint’s overall longevity.

By using materials science and current technology, we can build a better product and therefore create a better future.”

The proof is in the data. If you have inclined or bumpy terrain, you know how challenging it can be to attain even water application throughout the area. Clemson University tested the Reinke internal flex joint against a competitor’s external ball-hitch coupler. Researchers tested both joints at alignment (flat) and at a 15-degree slope with flow rates ranging from 500 to 1,300 gallons per minute (GPM). At a flow rate of 1,300 GPM with a 15-degree slope, the external ballhitch coupler experienced a pressure drop per joint of 1.75, while the Reinke internal flex joint was less than 0.5. The incline pressure drop also was more significant for the external ball-hitch coupler at lower flow rates. Basically, the flex joint hook and receiver allows Reinke systems to irrigate where other systems can’t. Ask your dealer about the X-treme package for irrigation on steeper slopes.

INNOVATIVE DESIGN /////////////////////

V-RING SEAL The Reinke V-ring seal is an example of how we hold ourselves accountable and help growers reach maximum yield potentials. The longer your irrigation system is, the more pipe-to-pipe connections it has. If a connection leaks, you have a serious problem that is expensive and time-consuming to fix. If it happens in the middle of growing season, you could forfeit some of your yield. To help ensure that doesn’t occur, Reinke invented the V-ring seal. Our patented seal leaves a smooth, almost seamless, joint inside the pipe that drastically reduces friction loss compared to our competitors’ T-gasket. T-gaskets protrude into the pipe by as much as 3/8 of an inch, restricting water flow. They also protrude outside the pipe, preventing the pipe flanges from touching. Heavier flanges and bolts are needed to maintain the system’s structural integrity. This designed gap forces the gaskets to absorb the load stress and leaves gaskets exposed to the harmful effects of ultraviolet rays from sunlight, which can cause deterioration of the rubber gaskets.

/////////////////////

Page 16

T-GASKETS VS REINKE’S V-RING SEAL ////////////////////////////

T-gaskets, left, are exposed to sunlight, causing deterioration. The opposite is true of the Reinke V-ring seal, which ensures a tighter flange-to-flange connection to avoid sunlight.

/

///////////////////////////

Reinke’s V-ring seal allows for a flange-to-flange connection that transfers load stress to the pipe. Reinke’s patented V-ring seal, which creates a stronger flange-to-flange connection. The V-ring seal itself never sees the light of day and is safe from the damaging effects of UV radiation. Looking at a Reinke irrigation system, you will see only steel flanges bolted together. Because the entire surface area of the flanges meet, the pipe itself carries the load stress, with reduced stress on the pipe-to-pipe connection. A triangular void next to the water pipe accepts the V-ring. Water forces the V-ring tighter into the void, causing a tight seal. Frankly, it’s a nomaintenance feature.

A competitor’s T-gasket prevents the pipe flanges from touching.

Our V-ring seal carries a 25-year warranty and likely will never need to be replaced.

INNOVATIVE DESIGN /////////////////////

SPRINKLER OUTLETS At Reinke, a lot goes on behind the scenes to get each water droplet into your soil. When it comes to choosing the spacing of your sprinkler outlets, you want to leave yourself options should you decide to change your sprinkler package in the future. Reinke’s standard outlet spacing is 57 inches, rather than the competitors’ 90 or 118 inches. Reinke also provides Low Energy Precision Application (LEPA) outlet spacing options at 40 inches apart as well as a 30-inch spacing option. With closer outlet spacing, you have the option to add more sprinklers at a lower height for increased precision, which leads to energy and water savings. When water is applied within a foot or two of the ground, sprinklers must be closer to properly fill the spray pattern. The 3/4-inch pipe coupler is one of the smallest parts on a Reinke irrigation system, but no detail is too small to escape the attention of our engineering and design team.

Growers want to water as much and as efficiently as they can, in the most cost-effective way. They look to us to keep the value in that high-dollar ground. It’s always the challenge of, ‘How do I get the most out of these acres for this customer?’”

Reinke dealerships provide timely service and minimize downtime for your irrigation systems.

Our dealers feel a sense of responsibility and that’s what makes something 100% Reinke Certified. If something should happen to go wrong, the producer can be assured we’re going to be there to back up our warranty. We’re going to do everything we can to make sure he or she is up and running as soon as possible.” — Mark Mesloh, Vice President North American Irrigation Sales

SERVICE ////////////////////

REINKE WARRANTIES Reinke is so confident in our irrigation products’ quality that we back them with some of the best warranties in the business. The Reinke Wheel Gearbox warranty is a case in point. If your wheel gearbox should fail before 10 years or 16,000 hours of operation, whichever occurs first, your replacement wheel gearbox is on us. How can we offer the best warranties in the industry? It’s not just that we source the best parts and perform rigorous quality checks. It’s also the superior engineering and design of a Reinke irrigation system that puts less stress on the drivetrain and other components, helping them last longer. Take our V-ring seal for example. The tight seal allows for a flange-toflange connection that transfers the system’s load stress to the pipe. In contrast, our competitors’ systems are designed with gaps between pipes where t-gaskets absorb much of system’s load stress. The Reinke V-ring seal carries a 25-year warranty but likely will never need to be replaced.

Page 24

Reinke warranties are put in place to give growers certainty in their investment, but odds are, most parts will out-operate their warranties. Reinke irrigation pipe is covered with an amazing 20-year warranty. Our newest warranty covers span joint water hoses, also known as boots, for 10 years. The boot’s design guarantees a long life with littleto-no maintenance.

////////////////////////////

The Reinke Wheel Gearbox will outwork and outlive any competitive gearbox in the field. On the rare occasion a part fails under warranty, Reinke’s Warranty Administrator works with dealers to provide a new part. Reinke Certified Dealerships are trained to understand Reinke warranties and to provide you with the best possible service value, so you can be confident your investment will last for years to come.

These are really good systems, and Reinke is willing to stand behind them with a warranty. We will go above and beyond for a warranty because we believe in our products.” — Shana Gerberding, Warranty Administrator
