Il prêt-à-portér non è solo il futuro, non è solo quello che sarà. Talvolta, dopo aver assistito alle passerelle delle ultime collezioni, si guarda al mondo e ai suoi colori con occhi diversi. Si scopre di desiderare cose a cui prima non davamo importanza perché ci piaceva altro. Nuovi tagli e nuance si preparano a far spazio nel nostro guardaroba, qualcosa di imprevisto e imprevedibile si prepara a riempire di vita le nostre giornate perché un abito è il vestito della nostra anima e non solo del nostro corpo, dato che tutto è in connessione in questo mondo.

Riapriamo i nostri armadi e come presi da una voglia irrefrenabile ci mettiamo a cercare qualsiasi cosa che già possediamo da tempo e che possiede quel qualcosa che ci ricorda nei colori e nelle forme gli abiti appena ammirati in passerella.

In questo modo ci sembra di essere ancora lì, di respirare ancora quell’atmosfera appena vissuta durante il défilé. È come se non si smettesse mai di sognare e ciò che è magicamente futuro diventa già così presente nella nostra vita. L’oggi ci sembra ieri, ormai così datato e, così, da tutte le fashion week che abbiamo appena finito di seguire, iniziamo a cogliere ciò che ci assomiglia.

Perché, cos’è l’amore se non incontrare qualcosa che ci somiglia e che già portiamo nella nostra mente e nel nostro cuore? L’amore è riconoscimento di qualcosa che ci appartiene ed è per questo che non possiamo non fare una special selection di ciò che ci ha colpito di più al cuore, come un fashion Cupido.

L’economia stessa risente di questo positivo trend emozionale e la stagione passata lascia il posto a una voglia di positività che fa ben sperare nelle vendite che verranno. Il prêt-à-couture, d’altronde, come dicono i numeri è in forte ascesa e il mercato del lusso, che è mercato del sogno, traina alla grande il mondo dell’alta moda e del settore accessori, più in voga che mai.

Rendez-Vous de la Mode vi propone in questo numero speciale la sua top selection di abiti e tendenze che tanto abbiamo amato, sentendoli vicini a noi e al nostro gusto personale.

Sartorialità, passione per l’artigianato e per chi ha il gusto e l’istrionismo di dire qualcosa di davvero nuovo e speciale nella moda. Ricerca di new talents con vero talento e tendenze che magari durino più di una stagione.

Nelle nostre pagine, avvertirete quanto è grande il nostro amore per la moda fresca e nuova che, è vero, si poggia sulle solide spalle del passato, ma per guardare oltre, non certo giù.

Ossia guardare verso il futuro e non al presente.

Questa è la filosofia del nostro fashion magazine e l’emozione profonda che vogliamo trasmettervi con questo numero dedicato alla moda che non conosce tempo e spazio, libera e vitale, al di là di ogni regola e dimensione.

The prêt-à-portér is not just about the future, neither is it only just about what will be. Sometimes, after witnessing the latest catwalk collections, we can look at the world and its colours with different eyes. It is then possible to wish for things that earlier on we did not care for, because we liked something else. New cuts and tones start making their way into our wardrobe, and something unexpected and unpredictable begins to fill our days with a renewed energy. What we wear on our body also mirrors our soul’s own outfit, for everything is connected in this world.

So we open our wardrobes again, and we are taken over by an irresistible desire. We start looking for any clothes that we have owned for a while, which may have that ‘something’ that reminds us of the colours and shapes that we have just admired on the catwalk.

By doing this, we feel as if we are still there, breathing in that particular atmosphere that we have just experienced during the show. It is as if the dream never stopped, and that which has magically appeared as the future trend, can instead become so present in our life. Today feels like yesterday, already so outdated, and we can start to pick what now represents the new us, out of all the fashion weeks we just finished following.

Because, what is love but to meet something that resembles us and that we already have in our mind and heart? Love is to recognise something that belongs to us. This is why we cannot fail to make a selection and choose what really hit our hearts, just like a fashion Cupid.

The economy too benefits from this positive emotional trend and as the previous season ends, it is replaced by a positive desire. This is what brings hope for sales to come. After all, as the data show, prêt-à-couture is on the rise. The luxury market, which is a dream market, pushes the high fashion and the accessory sectors ‘big time’. This is why these are as fashionable as never before.

In this issue, Rendez-Vous de la Mode recommends a very discerning selection of clothing and trends that we loved so much, and felt so near to us and our personal taste. We looked for sartorial ability, passion for craftsmanship and for all that shows taste, and courage to say something really new and special in fashion. We looked for really gifted talent, but also for trends that will probably last longer than one season.

Within our pages, you will be able to feel how big is our love for fresh and innovative fashion, which although may look back to the past, also looks ahead and never down on it. To put it better, we looked for fashion that looks into the future and not the present. This is the philosophy of our fashion magazine, as well as the deep emotion we wish to pass on to you with this issue, which we dedicate to fashion that is not concerned with time and space, but alive and kicking, abides beyond rules and specific dimensions.

NEW YORK Questa che seguirà questa nostra piccola introduzione vuole essere una special selection che abbiamo voluto fare delle tantissime sfilate che si sono tenute durante la New York Fashion Week. Avremmo potuto inserirle tutte, almeno una pagina a testa, ma non sarebbe stato nello spirito di Rendez-Vous de la Mode che nel fashion ricerca solo quel quid che fa la differenza. New York ha visto sfilare grandi nomi del gotha internazionale della moda, eppure noi abbiamo volutamente scelto, dopo una scelta molto accurata, di parlarvi solo di quelli che vedete elencati alla vostra destra. This introduction of the many fashion shows that took place in New York during Fashion Week is focussed on a selective approach. We could have mentioned the whole lot, maybe a page for each feature, but that is not the spirit of Rendez-Vous de la Mode, for in fashion, we only seek that quid that makes the difference. New York saw all the leading figures of the International fashion world showcase their product, but after careful consideration, we decided to mention only those listed on the right. Actually, they are not few, and for us they represent the best of US fashion. If you are wondering which

criteria we used, we can honestly say that compared to Milan, Paris and London’s Fashion Week’s products, these were different in that they did not follow any particular trend, but simply their own American dna. We were stricken by this element, which in our times of wild globalization, really makes a difference. READY? THAT’S AMERICA!

Throughout the years, London has very much changed, and not simply in terms of men’s fashion, for which the city is now on a par with Pitti Uomo. But rather, and above all, it has changed in terms of women’s fashion. Once upon a time, London meant transgression, histrionic clothing, little versatility and academic limitations. It was all combined with a dose of sound and omnipresent punk style. Today London is the most couture place of all, overtaking even Paris in terms of experimental craftsmanship. Step by step, and thanks to London, new and great results have been achieved. Did London turn bourgeois? Not quite!

London displays the brightest colours of the season, its clothing are the most sensual, its print work is ever so interesting and ranges from revised military style to ethnic and 3D polka dot on dresses and fur coats. London plays

La fonte d’ispirazione di questa collezione autunno-inverno 2014/15 è un viaggio fatto a Como, in Italia, dove la designer ha potuto ammirare i motivi delle antiche cattedrali, con i loro splendidi mosaici. In questa collezione Temperley London si è concentrata sulla versatilità e sulla portabilità, due concetti spesso in competizione tra loro. Invece il suo dailywear è fresco e romantico, molto femminile e rigoroso. Gli abiti, squisitamente sartoriali, hanno un mood equilibrato e disciplinato, senza, però, rinunciare a una stratificazione di tessuti che languidamente avvolgono il corpo con grande modernità. / The inspiration behind this 2014/15 autumn-winter collection is a trip to Como, Italy, where the designer was able to admire the local ancient cathedrals’s motifs and mosaics. For this collection, Temperley London focussed on two often antipodal concepts like “versatility” and “fit to be worn’’. His daily wear is original and romantic, yet very feminine and sober. Clothes are exquisitely sartorial and have an overall harmonious and orderly mood, without giving up on overlayers that contour the body smoothly and in a modern manner.

Non è assomigliando a New York, Parigi e Londra che si fa moda internazionale, ma preservando quelli che sono i tratti peculiari che hanno reso grande Milano nel mondo. Innanzitutto un falso low profile che nasconde una sartorialità che non ha eguali nel mondo. Guardate i cappotti dal taglio slim, anche in versione reptile, ma, ammiratene il taglio perfetto, a rasoio, così come le giacche illuminate in questa collezione invernale da dettagli in cristallo stile fairy tale. Il lusso è solo un dettaglio: non serve

una pelliccia intera ipercolorata, basta un collo, un polsino, per un lusso nuovo, moderno e più portabile.

Milan takes on the challenge of its fashion week rivals and tries to maintain that touch of ‘milanesitá’ or milanese soul that made it so famous in the world. It is not through copying New York, Paris and London that the city makes International fashion, but through sticking to its own individuality.

This is what made Milan big in the world. First of all, Milan has a misleading low profile, when in reality it breeds worlwide unequalled craftsmanship. It suffices to have a look at its slimline coats and their snake skin version, and admire their perfect razor cut design, or even the bright fairy tale winter crystal jackets. Domenico Dolce e Stefano Gabbana non sono solo due geniali stilisti, rappresentanti del più grande Made in Italy nel mondo, ma hanno soprattutto il merito di aver fatto rinascere, come un’araba fenice dalle sue ceneri, una Milano più legata ai valori tradizionali dell’Italia, quali la famiglia, l’amore per la vita e per il Made in Italy, soprattutto. Dopo la cosiddetta “Milano da bere”, quell’âge d’or a cavallo tra la fine degli anni ‘70 e gli anni ‘80, che fece di Milano la capitale della moda internazionale, arrivò una new wave che seppe fare di Milano una capitale morale della moda.

Simbolo della nuova ondata di stilisti italiani scesa nell’arena per mostrare al mondo la per sempre rinnovabile supremazia del Made in Italy come “impero su cui non tramonterà mai il sole”, anche dopo che i titani e mostri sacri che lo hanno edificato dovranno cederne lo scettro, per oltre 30 anni hanno rappresentato sia il nuovo presente che il futuro della moda italiana, conquistando tutto il mondo con il loro stile assolutamente unico e originale. Conosciutisi nello studio di uno stilista dov’erano entrambi assistenti, decisero presto di mettersi in proprio perché lavorando sempre insieme e facendo consulenze per diverse aziende di moda, trovarono naturale unire le proprie forze per conquistare il fashion system. Surfando sull’onda maestra dell’ambizione e determinazione, dopo le prime, inevitabili, delusioni per via di uno stile che non veniva capito perché troppo avanti, furono notati da Beppe Modenese che, intuendone potenzialità e talento, li scelse per farli sfilare come nuove proposte per Milano Collezioni. Era l’ottobre del 1985, l’anno in cui iniziò la loro cavalcata trionfale nel fashion system con la prima collezione che intitolarono “Real Women”,

Domenico Dolce e Stefano Gabbana are not just two gifted designers who represent the greatest Made in Italy in the world. They are also responsible for giving the city of Milan a new lease of life, just like flames to a phoenix. Theirs is the Milan of the traditional Italian values, like family, love for life and above all the Made in Italy. After the so called “Milan to drink”, the golden age between the 70s and the 80s that made Milan an International fashion capital, came that new wave that made it the fashion world virtual capital. D&G stand tall amongst this wave of Italian designers who entered the fashion arena to show the world the renewed supremacy of the Made in Italy, an “empire on which the sun will not set”, even after the legendary two who edified it will have to pass their sceptre onto others. For over 30 years they represented the present and future of Italian fashion, and conquered the world with their unique and original style. D&G met at the time when they were both assistants in the same designer’s studio. It was not long before, whilst working together and acting as consultants for various fashion enterprises, they decided to combine their talent and go their own way to conquer the fashion system. Because they were ahead of their times, their style was often misinterpreted. After the initial disappointing experiences and strong of their ambition and determination, they were noticed by Beppe Modenese, who perceived their potential and talent and chose them as his new proposal for the Milano Collezioni catwalk. 1985 was their breakthrough year. Their triumphal ride into the fashion system started with the “Real Women” collection, and therefter, year after year, they became the greatest world stars’ favourite designers,

Anche per la cantante Kylie Minogue nel 2002 e nel 2011 i due stilisti hanno creato tutti i costumi del suo tour, ma, iconicamente, la loro musa resta Monica Bellucci, mediterranea e formosa, “Donna-donna”, come il nome del primo marchio che fondarono insieme agli esordi, prima di lanciare il brand “Dolce&Gabbana” nel 1985, spesso affiancata ultimamente dalla top model italiana Bianca Balti, nuovo volto della maison. Originali inventori di uno stile tutto loro, rappresentano una felice unione tra Nord e Sud d’Italia. Domenico Dolce è, infatti, palermitano di origine, mentre Stefano Gabbana è milanese di famiglia veneta. Atmosfere, ricordi e sensazioni di luoghi all’apparenza così distanti tra loro al punto da apparire opposti, si incontrano all’inizio felicemente nella loro moda e i due si intendono a meraviglia: è dapprima la mediterraneità, così sensuale e carnale, a prevalere nelle loro creazioni, anche se non mancano elementi di androginia ed elementi “gangster chic” con completi pantaloni gessati e coppole siciliane. Con il tempo, lo stile dei due subisce una naturale mutazione, tanto che oggi la moda Dolce & Gabbana è molto più femminile, romantica e sensuale, come dimostrano le loro ultime collezioni. Autentici cool hunter, anticipatori di tendenze, dapprima criticati e poi copiati da quasi tutti, con i loro abiti ritenuti più “scandalosi” dall’opinione pubblica non hanno mai voluto in realtà fare scandalo, ma scuotere le coscienze e regalare sensazioni nuove. La loro moda è cinematografica. Quando disegnano immaginano un film, pensano a una storia e disegnano gli abiti che meglio si adattano ad essa. Storie di sensualità e sicilianità, dove predominano elementi come l’intimo a vista, il pizzo nero e i bustini e spesso ispirate al cinema italiano degli anni ‘40 e ‘50 e ad icone senza tempo come Anna Magnani e Sophia Loren, donne forti e coraggiose, dalla grande personalità e passionalità.

In the same year, they designed over 1500 stage costumes for her “Girlie Show” tour. Their Madonna’s creations perfectly mirrored her multifaceted personality. In 2002 and 2011 they designed Kylie Minogue’s tour costumes, but their icon and muse is Monica Bellucci, a mediterranean and curvy star, a “Donna-Donna”, Italian for “Real Woman”, just like their very first brand name years before, before the launch of “Dolce&Gabbana” in 1985. Alongside Monica Bellucci, the maison’s new icon is presently the Italian top model Bianca Balti. As the original creators of a very personal style, D&G represent a happy combination of northern and southern Italian genius. Domenico Dolce is indeed from Palermo, Sicily, whilst Stefano Gabbana was born in Milan from a Veneto family. Atmospheres, memories and sensations from such seemingly distant and contrasting places, are perfectly combined in their design from the very beginnings the duo understands one another perfectly. At first glance, it was the ever so sensual and carnal mediterranean feel that appeared to prevail in their work. Nevertheless, there was no lack of androgynous and “gangster chic” elements, like their pinstriped trousers and sicilian cap. Later, D&G’s style underwent a natural mutation. Today’s Dolce&Gabbana means femininity, romance and sensuality, as demonstrated by their latest collections. Authentic cool hunters, trend anticipators, first criticised and then copied by almost all, they never meant to scandalise, even if public opinion often considered their clothing quite daring. Their main wish is to shake our consciousness and give us new sensations. Theirs is a cinematographic fashion style. When they design, they imagine a film and a story, for which they then create the right outfits. They normally choose sensual sicilian settings, and enrich them with elements like underwear in full view, bustiers and black lace, whilst drawing their inspiration from the 40s and 50s Italian films and icons, like Anna Magnani and Sophia Loren, two strong, courageous and passionate women with a great personality.

Parigi è sempre Parigi e val bene una messa, come al solito... Da nessuna parte come qui il prêt-à-couture si sposa con l’alta moda e suggella la nascita di un ibrido favoloso che incanta clienti e addetti ai lavori. Non è stato semplice qui mettere in atto la nostra selezione, decidere di chi parlare e di chi no. Ma il vero redattore si vede anche da questo, è come una ghigliottina di Sua Maestà la Moda che ha deciso cosa per il prossimo inverno è davvero parisienne e cosa no. Naturalmente, si tratta di una scelta personale su cui qualcuno avrà da ridire, ma, potere della nostra ghigliottina, abbiamo scelto gli stilisti che vedete alla vostra destra e che secondo noi rappresentano davvero, al di là di ogni trend internazionale, il vero spleen francese che ancora fa di Parigi la capitale della moda, anche se quest’anno, come vedrete, ha osato di più rispetto alle altre fashion week, con stampe eccentriche, maxi stripes, fiori applicati...MADAME

ET MONSIEUR, PARIS!

Paris is always Paris and as usual it is well worth a mass...Nowhere as there prêt-à-couture embraces high fashion to create a fabulous hybrid that is capable of bewitching both the customers and the industry. It was not easy to select or decide what to talk about and what not. But this is what makes a good editor. He/she must become like His Majesty’s guillottine and realise what in the winter collection is and is not proper parisian. It would obviously be a personal choice and some people might feel differently. But through the power of our guillottine, we opted for those designers listed on the right. We think that they represent the true parisian soul, which is the one that goes beyond International trends. Yes, Paris is still the fashion capital par excellence, even if as you can see, this year it dared a little bit more than the rival Fashion Weeks, with eccentric print works, maxi stripes and flower appliqués... di ALESSIA TOTA Mobili, arredi e complementi che s’ispirano alla moda, ai tessuti d’autore, alle forme delle auto sportive. Il design influenza il lifestyle e quello di lusso è marcatamente italiano, perché legato alla qualità nella produzione e nell’uso dei materiali. È quanto è emerso nel corso della 53esima edizione del Salone del Mobile di Milano appena conclusa, che ha registrato un incremento di visitatori di circa il 13%, grazie anche ad una maggiore affluenza di buyer stranieri provenienti da aree insospettabili come Uzbekistan, Kazakistan, Azerbaigian. Con una costante presenza di compratori cinesi, giapponesi ed arabi, interessati soprattutto al comparto del lusso. Grande successo quindi per i prodotti di alto artigianato “Made in Italy”, ma l’arredamento di lusso è anche una scelta di stile e di accostamenti; che i brand di moda riescono più facilmente ad interpretare.

Da Fendi ad esempio la pelle stampata è usata per foderare gli interni di ripiani e cassetti, mentre la Home Collection Emanuel Ungaro predilige il legno laccato e si ispira ad epoche e personalità emblematiche come il Barone Haussmann, Arthur Miller ed Oscar Niemeyer.
