Affordable tapware London Branch Fitting range from Schots Home Emporium Boasting classic style and quality construction, the Astor Arched Basin Set from Schots Home Emporium is part of a range of taps and faucets that provides both function and form. In a range of beautiful designs and finishes, this collection of solid brass and PVD finished pieces, catches the eye while also providing for a 5 star rating. This Arched Basin Set comes with a Chrome Finish and a Physical Vapour Deposition [PVD]. This product has a WELS rating of 5 Stars, using 5.5L/minute. Constructed from solid brass; available in PVD Brass, PVD Chrome, PVD Satin Chrome and Oil Rubbed Bronze. Priced at $329.
The London branch Fitting has been modelled on light-fittings that have recently been available from London. It is constructed in solid brass with an antique brass finish but can be ordered in antique nickel, antique bronze or chrome finishes because it is made and finished in Australia. Memory Lane in Ascot Vale designed this fitting for home-renovators who have seen a fitting similar to this online but the logistics of ordering from London without knowing how it will look when it arrives is difficult. This fitting goes with modern decorating styles with its simple but elegant design. Most new houses have higher ceilings than the 2400mm minimum height that was common from the 1980s through to the early 2000s; and filling a large room with high ceilings with downlights detracts somewhat from a large family room. However one or more fittings, like the London, will add style and elegance. A very simple design, the London Branch Fitting is pictured with black cloth shades but can be fitted with many different cloth shades. Also the fitting pictured is a 4 branch fitting; but can be made with 3 or 5 branches.

Tap spray is great for washing your dog This great 3-Function Tap Spray is marvellous for washing your dog. It converts from soft shower to cleaning or massage function with an easy switch. The slide bar on the handle allows you to regulate the volume of water flow for your dog’s comfort. Importantly the handle also incorporates an on/off setting for water saving during the process. To install, first remove the existing aerator from your tap and screw on the attractive chrome female fitting. Leave the chrome fitting on the tap permanently. The 3-Function Tap Spray can now be instantly snapped on as required. The chrome fitting will fit all standard 21-23mm diameter tap threads. If your tap is not threaded, consider replacing the spout whilst retaining the taps. Easy to fit, threaded, chrome spouts with swivel are available for around $21 at hardware and plumbing outlets. 2017-range of Thermofilm’s HEATSTRIP outdoors heaters The 2017-range of Thermofilm’s HEATSTRIP outdoors heaters includes: freestanding electric heater; portable LPG heater; and a wall mounted natural gas heater; available from Bunnings, heating specialists and outdoors lifestyle stores. HEATSTRIP Portable Electric Heater [THH1800AP, $749].The robust portable stand makes this model ideal for spot heating of tables, lounges, entertaining areas and workstations, both indoors and outdoors. Its slimline 1800-watt HEATSTRIP Classic radiant heater provides gentle, comfortable warmth with no glow; heats an area of 3-4m2; and has a running cost of .45c per hour [based on a .25c tariff]. It is corrosion-protected for the outdoors; IP55 rated to prevent water ingress; and is Australian designed, engineered and assembled. DIY installation is easy and it then simply plugs into a normal power point. A concealed power cable ensures a sleek appearance. HEATSTRIP Portable LPG Outdoor Heater [TGH34PL, $799, cover: $79, available late-May]. The new HEATSTRIP portable LPG [gas bottle] heater provides an elegant solution for outdoors areas. Providing a high heat output of 34 megajoules, it has a 4-tile commercial-quality ceramic burner, which offers higher efficiency than a standard stainless steel burner [according to Thermofilm]. For example, based on a 9 kg LPG bottle, a standard mushroom heater costs $2.50/hour to run; whereas the HEATSTRIP will run for up to 44% longer and costs just $1.39/hour on low and $2/hour on high. It is easy to operate with an integrated Piezo ignition with tilt safety switch and flame failure device included. A high/low output control provides heat output flexibility. The robust stand design allows the gas pipes, bottle and connections to be fully concealed, yet is easy to wheel around. This makes it suitable for both residential and commercial applications. A protective grille and reflector is included as standard to guarantee safe operation and heat directed to specific areas. An optional cover protector is available. HEATSTRIP Wall Mounted Natural Gas Heater [TGH34WN, $599, available early-June]. Thermofilm has also designed and manufactured a wall mounted natural gas heater for a permanent outdoors undercover heating solution, such as alfresco areas, balconies, patios, halls and warehouses. The minimum mounting height is two metres. Providing a high heat output of 34 megajoules, it has a 4-tile commercial-quality ceramic burner. The cost of installation is minimised as only a gasfitter is required. The wall mounting bracket allows for multiple mounting angles and the reflector design ensures that only a minimum of 300mm overhead clearance is required. It can be converted to use with LPG.
Eccentric basin-mixer designed by Rogerseller Designed by Rogerseller and developed in partnership with Ram Tapware, Eccentric by Rogerseller, when engaged, reveals an unexpected back-plate featuring cold and hot indicators, thanks to its axis cleverly positioned off-centre. Once the handle is returned to its closed position, the back-plate is hidden once again. German progressive cartridge technology supports energy saving by opening in a low pressure/cold position that increases in pressure with the turn of the dial. Past the middle mark the addition of warm water is introduced, increasing as the dial moves to its furthest open position. Progressive cartridges’ energy saving benefits are useful when used in basins when warm water isn’t always required. With a subtle fin to match finger contours, the mixer provides the necessary leverage when slippery. The mixer can be wall or bench mounted and used across basin, bath or shower applications; while the subtle curves of the wall mounted bath and basin outlets complete the timeless and universal aesthetic. Developed to allow its products to age elegantly, Pittella’s Tumbled Brass process gives its solid brass designs a beautifully worn patina that develops more character over time. The Tumbled Brass process produces a natural, worn patina for Pittella’s door handles and pulls. The finish is achieved by placing raw brass products into a tumbler containing small stones, which remove casting marks without the use of chemicals. Luxury upholstery fabrics designed in NYC Maharam Design Studio [New York City] recently introduced four new textiles, expanding a series that has previously explored noble natural fibres like camelhair, cashmere, horsehair, merino wool, and silk. Pressed Linen [woven in Belgium] features a single weighty yarn in both the warp and weft, resulting in a dimensional surface with an elegant drape and handwoven appeal. Plume blends the cellulose fibres of linen, cotton and rayon with a modest amount of nylon to produce a durable construction with a softly napped surface. Taubmans Sample Pots The new Taubmans Sample Pots are available in 250ml and 500ml sizes, priced from $5.00. To get the best results from your sample pots Taubmans recommends using Monarch 25mm Sample Pot Brushes, priced at $2.38 for a pack of two. Taubmans suggests using these sample pots to trial colours on small areas before taking the plunge and painting entire spaces. Colours will change with different lighting and reflection and so each colour looks different in every house. Testing your paint colour with sample pots allows you to see the colour at different times of the day and see how it looks in your surroundings. This way you can test a couple of colours at one time to work out your best palette. For example: a blue might take on a greener tone depending on its surroundings; or what you thought was a very bright white might have a slight yellow to it in your house due to the timbers in the room or the direction it is facing.

Dulux interior colour suggestions for winter-2017 Offering a luxurious take on the industrial trend, Dulux suggests that a moody palette with warm metallics is the way to go for winter-2017. Promoting raw, pared-back beauty, this winter’s colour palette is derived from the 2017 Dulux Colour Trends’ Construct theme. Dulux key colours including Reckless Grey, Tirau Double, Ahoy, Winter Terrace, Five Fingers Peninsula, Panda Pod, Concrete Effect and Copper Effect can make any space in your home feel modern and contemporary. Being predominantly neutral they are very accessible: from the lightest variation, Dulux Winter Terrace, a soft grey/beige; right through to the darkest hue, Dulux Ahoy, which is an alluring deep blue. Whilst home-renovators may not naturally gravitate to deeper colours, neutral shades are easy to incorporate without overwhelming a space, according to Dulux. DIY-painting videos from Taubmans can help bring your walls to life The trend for painting feature walls has evolved over the years from just a single wall, to a more dynamic injection on two or three walls and, more recently, to less static use of colour. Using paint for patterns and shapes is a relatively simple painting task to take the interior of your home to a new level of impact. Painted shapes can create texture, movement and a talking point that is usually reserved for artwork and wallpaper. For example, using stencils with a mix of flat and gloss in older homes will give an effect of traditional “flocked” wallpaper; but when used in Taubmans latest colours such as Annapolis Blue or Casino can keep it relevant to contemporary tastes, perhaps accessorised by introducing designer furniture as a contrast to period architectural details. Simple is always the way to go for bedrooms, nurseries and main areas, so sticking to two or three colours is ideal; and then keep the shapes to a simple repetitive pattern if you are using stencils; and one or two major angles if you are doing linear shapes.
