¿CRECIÓ EL LAGO DE TEQUESQUITENGO? Has the Tequesquitengo Lake grown? Era un pequeño lago y en su orilla estaba el pueblo San Juan Bautista Tequesquitengo. A mediados del siglo XIX aumentó el volumen de agua, que fue inundando el poblado hasta cubrirlo. Hoy, la cúpula de la iglesia está a 6 metros de la superficie y puede identificarse porque hay una boya sobre el lugar. It used to be a small lake and on its shore rested the village of San Juan Bautista Tequesquitengo. In the mid-nineteenth century the lake´s volume of water increased, flooding the village until it was completely covered. Today the dome of the church is 6 meters below surface and can be identified by a buoy that rests on site.

Las playas oaxaqueñas son el punto de encuentro para los intrépidos surfistas y para los viajeros que buscan una atmósfera bohemia, amistosa y festiva: Allí se escucha hablar alemán, francés, japonés, inglés y, claro, español, ya que turistas de todo el mundo vacacionan cada verano en Puerto Escondido.
Oaxacan beaches are a meeting point for intrepid surfers and for travelers who seek a bohemian, friendly and festive atmosphere. There you may hear German, French, Japanese or English spoken and of course, Spanish, since tourists from all over the world vacation each summer in Puerto Escondido.

¿Por qué ir a Puerto Escondido? Muchas playas en un destino
El turismo nacional y extranjero elige Puerto Escondido por las características que ofrecen sus playas para hacer deportes extremos, concretamente el surf, por lo que es importante reservar con antelación, ya que la ocupación hotelera están repuntando en cada temporada. En verano de 2015, la ocupación promedio fue del 54%, registró un crecimiento del 7% con respecto al año anterior y sigue consolidándose como un caso de éxito al ser uno de los destinos emergentes de playa más visitados en México. En lo que va de esta temporada, 185 mil turistas han visitado el destino, dejando una derrama económica de 259 millones de pesos. Además, como su clima es cálido todo el año, muchos visitantes de Europa, Canadá y Estados Unidos se quedan durante meses para escapar de la nieve y las heladas. Puerto Escondido es un conjunto de playas diferentes entre sí en las que puedes pasarlo en grande sin que necesariamente seas un experto en surf, pues también tiene aguas tranquilas: En La Punta las olas son pequeñas y es muy práctico contratar a un instructor para entrenarte en surf. También está la Bahía Principal, donde esta práctica requiere de un determinado grado de destreza; Manzanillo y Angelito son playas con aguas tranquilas para nadar y practicar esnórquel; Playa Carrizalillo es un homenaje de la belleza, con altos acantilados y el oleaje ideal para los principiantes en surf, mientras que playa de Bacocho es para los enamorados que buscan largas caminatas y puestas de sol. Si pides a la gente local una recomendación, su primera respuesta será playa Zicatela: Con casi 100 metros de ancho y cuatro kilómetros de largo, está entre los principales destinos del mundo para practicar surf; es llamada el “Pipeline Mexicano” (el Pipeline “original” está Ehukai, en las islas Hawaii) por sus poderosas corrientes marinas y monumentales olas que atraen a miles de surfistas expertos a participar en torneos de clase internacional. De mayo a octubre, entre 6 y 10 de la mañana y de 6 a 8 de la noche, es cuando el viento que viene de las montañas permite que se formen buenos sets de olas. No está de más decirte que Zicatela no es una playa para nadar.
Turismo y cuidado de la vida marina
Dos competencias internacionales se celebran aquí: El torneo Zicatela Pro y el torneo Quiksilver Pro -ambos con fechas por confirmar- y ofrecen premios de varios de miles de dólares. Durante muchos años, cuando las tortugas marinas llegaban a desovar, los huevos eran muy codiciados para comerciar, pero tras la declaración de la veda total de la tortuga marina, en 1990, fue construido el Centro Mexicano de la Tortuga. Tourism and marine life care During many years, when sea turtles came to spawn, their eggs were very coveted for trade, but after the sea turtle ban was declared, in 1990, the Centro Mexicano de la Tortuga (Mexican Turtle Center) was built. It is a living museum that promotes the conservation of these animals. Why go to Puerto Escondido? Many beaches in a destination National and foreign tourism choose Puerto Escondido because of the features offered for practicing extreme sports, specifically surf, so it is important to book in advance as the hotel occupancy is at a rise each season. In the summer of 2015, the average occupation was 54 percent, registering a 7 percent growth compared with the previous year and it continues to successfully consolidate itself as one of the most visited emerging beach destinations in Mexico. So far this season, 185 thousand tourists have visited the destination, leaving economic benefits of 259 million pesos. In addition, because the weather is warm all year round, many visitors from Europe, Canada and the United States stay for months to escape from the snow and the frost. Puerto Escondido is a group of beaches different among themselves, so you can have fun without necessarily being a surfing expert, because it also has calm waters. In La Punta the waves are small and it can be very convenient to hire an instructor for surfing lessons. There is also the Bahía Principal, where surfing requires a higher degree of skill. In Manzanillo and Angelito there are beaches with calm waters for swimming and snorkeling. Playa Carrizalillo is an homage to beauty, with high cliffs and ideal waves for beginners, while Playa de Bacocho is for those romantic couples who are looking for long walks and sunsets. If you ask the local people for a recommendation, their first response will be Zicatela Beach: With almost 100 meters in width and 4 kilometers long, it is among the main destinations in the surfing world. It is called the “Mexican Pipeline” (the “original” Pipeline is Ehukai, in the Hawaiian Islands) because of its powerful marine currents and monumental waves that attract thousands of expert surfers to participate in world-class tournaments. From May to October, between 6 and 10 in the morning and 6 to 8 in the evening, it is when the wind coming from the mountains allows for good sets of waves to form. It is worth mentioning, Zicatela is not a beach for swimming.

¡RÍO ABAJO! DOWN RIVER! El rafting consiste en descender un río en una balsa inflable tomando el control de la embarcación sobre las aguas turbulentas. La clasificación de los ríos tiene un parámetro Internacional, según su movimiento, fuerza y caudal, siendo estas las categorías: •
Clase I. Básico. Aguas totalmente navegables.
•
Clase II. Fácil. Aguas con hoyos de no más de 25 centímetros.
•
Clase III. Intermedio. Navegarlo requiere buena técnica y conocimiento del río.
•
Clase IV. Difícil. Tiene olas de dos metros y pasos estrechos.
•
Clase V. Experto. Aguas muy turbulentas que requieren un grado de técnica experto.
•
Clase VI. Extremadamente difícil o no navegable.
El río Filobobos (en Tlapacoyan, a 102 kilómetros de Xalapa) te da emoción por casi 25 kilómetros, es recomendable bajarlo de junio a noviembre y sus rápidos son clase II y III. Y el río Pescados (en Jalcomulco, a 42 kilómetros de la capital veracruzana) plantea el reto de bajarlo durante 2.5 horas, con rápidos de clase III y IV. Rafting consists in going down a river in an inflatable raft, while taking control of the vessel surrounded by turbulent waters. River classification is determined by international parameters, according to their movement, force and flow. These are the categories: Class I. Basic. Fully navigable waters. •

The Filobobos River (in Tlapacoyan, 102 kilometers from Xalapa) can thrill you for almost 25 kilometers, navigation is recommended between the months of June and November and its rapids are class II and III. Also the Pescados River (in Jalcomulco, 42 kilometers from Veracruz´s capital) sets the challenge of descending it during 2.5 hours, with class III and IV rapids.

La antigua capital totonaca
Por su geografía, Veracruz es pionero en el Turismo de Aventura y Naturaleza, que abarca la práctica de deportes extremos y la exploración de parajes naturales. Los viajeros que buscan estas vivencias provienen de la Ciudad de México, Tlaxcala, San Luis Potosí, Querétaro, Estados Unidos y Canadá. Desde 2014, el Turismo de Aventura y Naturaleza ocupa el tercer lugar en los productos turísticos veracruzanos; el segmento ha crecido de tal manera, que la Secretaría de Turismo de México, el Adventure Travel México y la Adventure Travel Trade Association se han abierto al mercado internacional, estrechando relaciones con los prestadores de servicios y actualizándose en las nuevas tendencias. Además, la Dirección General de Turismo de Aventura y Naturaleza de Veracruz verifica el funcionamiento de los equipos para que te diviertas en condiciones de total seguridad. Por ejemplo, en el Operativo de Vigilancia de Verano más de 6 mil personas apoyan a los visitantes; la Norma NOM-06-TUR-2009 establece los requisitos para la práctica segura, higiénica y saludable en los campamentos, y la Norma NOM-011TUR-2001011-TUR-2001 señala los requisitos de seguridad, información y operación de los servicios turísticos.
Al norte del Estado está El Tajín, que fue la capital de los totonacas. Su nombre quiere decir ‘ciudad del trueno’, haciendo alusión al dios a quien le solicitaban la lluvia; fue parte de la ruta comercial que conectaba con el centro del país y por la armonía de su arquitectura y valor cultural, desde 1992 es Patrimonio Mundial de la Humanidad.
Xalapa significa “En lugar del manantial sobre la arena”, pero Alexander von Humboldt, el creador de la geografía moderna, la llamó La Ciudad de las Flores por su variada vegetación.
The ancient Totonaca capital North of the State of Veracruz is El Tajín, capital of the Totonac culture. Its name means ‘city of thunder”, making allusion to their rain god. It was part of the trade route that connected the center of the country and because of its architectural harmony and cultural value; it was named a World Heritage Site in 1992.
Xalapa means “spring in the sand”. However, Alexander von Humboldt, creator of modern geography, called it the “city of flowers” because of its varied vegetation.

Tierra de cafetales Coatepec está a ocho kilómetros de Xalapa y tiene las condiciones para cultivar un excelente Café de Altura. Esto quiere decir que su aroma, acidez, cuerpo y sabor quedan definidos por la altura sobre el nivel del mar a la cual se cultivó la planta –debe ser arriba de los 900 metros- y Coatepec está a 1,250 metros sobre el nivel del mar. Por estas características y el volumen de cosecha, el Estado de Veracruz aporta el 25 % de la producción nacional del grano.

Jalisco, tierra de innovación Campus party 2016 Más que la tierra de la charrería, mariachi, tequila, patrimonio de gran tradición y riqueza cultural, Jalisco es conocido como el Silicon Valley de América Latina, pues se ha convertido en un referente mundial de desarrollo e innovación.
También se posicionó como la Capital de la Innovación, pues el talento de su gente contribuye al crecimiento de la inversión extranjera, que en su mayoría son empresas dedicadas a las Tecnologías de la Información; además, han sido creados espacios de investigación, universidades tecnológicas y es fomentada la inversión en proyectos innovadores, por lo que hoy más de 100 mil personas tienen empleos relacionados con este rubro. Additionally, to promote Jalisco´s development and carry out actions to ensure the welfare of its people, who are to construct a better world, a great event was held: Campus Party 2016, an international festival of innovation, creativity, science, entrepreneurship and technology – which for the third consecutive time took place in Jalisco and marking the event´s seventh edition. Sabores // Tastes EL MEJOR VINO BLANCO DEL MUNDO El Chenin Blanc 2012, de Casa Madero -la bodega más antigua de América-, ganó la medalla de oro en el concurso Vinalies Internationales, realizado en París, en 2012. El vino mexicano compitió con 3,425 muestras de 45 países, que fueron analizadas por 134 catadores internacionales y siendo reconocido como el mejor de los vinos blancos de todo el mundo ese año.
FROM GRAPE TO WINE
DE LA UVA AL VINO En medio del desierto de Coahuila está el Pueblo Mágico de Parras de la Fuente, donde bajo un sol candente y sobre una tierra semiárida, son cultivadas las parras que dan vida a uvas de la más alta calidad. La tradición vinícola comenzó en esa región cuando los frailes que acompañaron a los españoles en busca de oro, encontraron una tierra fértil y abundante en vides que crecen en forma silvestre gracias a las condiciones del clima. Así que con el tiempo las técnicas, los procesos de elaboración y la crianza de vinos -tinto dulce o seco, moscatel o tipo oporto, entre otras variedades- formaron parte de la cultura del lugar. La vid es cuidada con pasión y trabajo para lograr la máxima calidad desde que inicia su maduración, ya que cada una de las uvas que entra a las bodegas debe tener las mismas condiciones. En caso de que los racimos no alcancen las características adecuadas, son retirados para no bajar la calidad de la cosecha. Y el proceso mediante el cual la uva se convierte en vino también es minuciosamente controlado (por ejemplo, aunque el calor alcanza los 30 grados al exterior, en las bodegas descansan las barricas a una temperatura de 16 grados) para que los vinos de Parras de la Fuente sigan siendo un referente en el mundo enológico y turístico.

THE BEST WHITE WINE IN THE WORLD The Chenin Blanc 2012, Casa Madero - the oldest winery of America - won the gold medal in the the Vinalies Internationales Competition, held in Paris, in 2012. The Mexican wine competed among 3,425 samples from 45 countries, which were analyzed by 134 international wine tasters, where it was recognized as the best white wine from around the world that year.
In the middle of the Coahuila desert is the Magical Town of Parras de la Fuente, where under a burning sun and on a semi-arid land, the vines that give life to the highest quality grapes are cultivated. This winemaking tradition began with the monks accompaning the Spaniards in search of gold, who found fertile land, abundant in vines that grow in the wild thanks to the weather. Over time the techniques, development and aging process of wine - red, sweet, or dry, Moscatel or Oporto, among other varieties - became part of the town´s culture. The vines are cared for with passion and work to achieve the highest quality, beginning with its maturation, because each grape entering the wineries must have the same quality. If the grapes do not have the appropriate characteristics, they are then removed in order not to lower the quality of the harvest. And the process in which the grapes are converted into wine is also tightly controlled (e.g., although heat can reach 30 degrees outside, barrels rest in bodegas at a 16 degree temperature) so that Parras de la Fuente wines remain benchmark in the world of wine and tourism.

Tequila Espolón fue fundado en 1996, el destilado que produce contiene el espíritu y la historia de la región por su calidad y cuidado: Dos variedades de tequila son reposadas en barricas de roble blanco nuevas más un reposo adicional en una segunda barrica, dando como resultado El Marañón -distinguido como el Mejor Destilado del Mundo en el Concurso Mundial de Bruselas 2010- y El Colorado -terminado artesanalmente en barricas de Bourbon-, así como sus variedades Añejo y Blanco, que reflejan la pasión de la casa tequilera cuya insignia son unos gallos de pelea. Tequila Espolón was founded in 1996, producing a distill which contains the region´s spirit and history for quality and care. Two varieties of tequila are aged in new white oak barrels, with an additional resting period in a second barrel, giving as a result El Marañón - distinguished as the best distill in the World Contest of Brussels 2010 (Concours Mondial de Bruxelles 2010) – and El Colorado (the Red) – finished off artisanally in Bourbon barrels-, as well as their varieties Añejo (Aged) and Blanco (white), which reflect the passion of the tequila house whose insignia is depicted with fighting cocks.

Así es como conocen en Arandas a la gran campana que está junto al Templo del Señor San José Obrero, ya que en 1972 fue colocada en el campanario de la torre sur, pero por su baja sonoridad la trasladaron al campanil donde está actualmente. Es la quinta campana más grande del mundo y la número uno en América: Mide tres metros de alto, tres de diámetro, el badajo pesa 500 kilos y la campana completa pesa casi 15 toneladas. ¡Tómate fotos allí! This is how Aranda´s great bell next to the Templo del Señor San José Obrero is known as. In 1972 it was placed in the southern bell tower, but because of the acoustics it was later moved to the belfry where it is currently is. It is the fifth biggest bell of the world and number one in America. Initiated in 1998 with the goal of raising awareness on the unexplored area of rural tourism, it offers great opportunities as a tourist product of extraordinary quality where a visitor could stay at a finca jaliscience (Jalisco estate) in its original state, experiencing the feeling of staying in a special place, learning about the town´s great cultural and historical wealth, while spending time with its warm people. This year 27 families from several municipalities of Jalisco were invited to participate in the project. The properties which had the necessary features to transform them into hotels were remodeled and conditioned by the Association, this way boosting rural tourism with a great lodging service. The success of the project can be seen in the guest´s satisfaction both from business and leisure, and in the rise of partnerships, which put all their effort into offering visitors experiences which they will never forget.

Los platos de Nudo Negro fueron diseñados para formar una especie de rompecabezas, con la intención deliberada de que la gente comparta los platillos tomándolos del mismo plato.
Cocina de vanguardia En una de las zonas más cosmopolitas de la Ciudad de México, los chefs Daniel Ovadía y Salvador Orozco crearon un concepto culinario que marca el regreso de la cocina fusión con raíces mexicanas: Es el vanguardista restaurante Nudo Negro.
Creado para personas que buscan poner al cien sus sentidos en un espacio donde nada está escrito; pueden comer con las manos, con palillos o con cubiertos, el comensal es quien elige. No hay reglas ni hay etiqueta, lo único importante es disfrutar. “En Nudo Negro vivirán toda una montaña rusa de sabores, texturas e ingredientes, capaz de convertir la experiencia en una bitácora de viaje y revivir los pasos de Chava y yo por diferentes cocinas del mundo”, comenta el Chef Daniel Ovadía. La cocina de Nudo Negro está basada en tres ejes principales que son: El fuego, el vapor y las brasas para crear una infinita gama de texturas, temperaturas, olores y sabores que reúnen a la

gastronomía mexicana con la de Vietnam, Perú, Israel, Corea, Singapur, Japón y China. Así, la insaciable búsqueda por innovar y las andanzas de Ovadía y de Orozco por todo el mundo han logrado platillos memorables gracias a su talento. Entre los platillos que recomendamos destacan los Dumplings de Pato con lima kaffir y aceite de avellana, los Ostiones a las Brasas con salsa sambal, la Costilla de Cerdo en jerk jamaicano y, como postre, el helado de lychee con reducción de jamaica es un must, al igual que el molten chocolate-cake con nuez de la india, limón y curry amarillo. “En nuestra cocina se combinan los molcajetes, el vapor, el fuego del wok y la
brasa de nuestro horno Josper para así ser un lugar de culto a los ingredientes mexicanos, las especias de medio oriente, las técnicas japonesas y los encurtidos coreanos”, comenta el Chef Salvador Orozco. En la barra de Nudo Negro los cocteles son preparados a la usanza clásica, ya que han hecho una extensa investigación de las recetas más antiguas de cada coctel, como el Sazerac, el Singapore Sling o el Smoky Martini hecho con ginebra, whisky ahumado con puro Cohíba y limón amarillo. La sofistiación de los platillos de Nudo Negro ameritan ser disfrutados en la atmósfera correcta: La decoración del restaurante combina materiales y texturas que evocan el ambiente de las grandes capitales mundiales, ya sea Tokio, Londres o Buenos Aires. There are no rules and there is no etiquette, what is important is to enjoy. “In Nudo Negro you will experience a roller coaster of flavors, textures and ingredients, capable of converting the experience in that of a travel log, reliving the steps that Chava and I took through different world cuisines,” says Chef Daniel Ovadía. The cuisine of Nudo Negro is based on three main concepts that are: fire, steam and hot coals, to create an infinite range of textures, temperatures, smells and tastes that bring together Mexican cuisine with that of Vietnam, Peru, Israel, Korea, Singapore, Japan and China. Thus, the insatiable quests for innovation and adventures of Ovadía and Orozco throughout the world have achieved memorable dishes thanks to their talents. Among the dishes we recommend, stand out the duck dumplings with kaffir lime and hazelnut oil, the charcoal-grilled oysters with sambal salsa, the pork ribs in Jamaican jerk and for dessert, the lychee ice cream with a jamaica flower reduction is a must, like the molten chocolate-cake with cashews, lemon and yellow curry. “Our cuisine combines molcajetes (traditional mortar and pestles), steam, the fire of the wok and the charcoal of our Josper oven, to become a place of worship of Mexican ingredients, Middle Eastern spices, Japanese techniques and Korean pickling” says Chef Salvador Orozco.

Aquella niña que nació el 21 de abril de 1926 de carisma e inteligencia innata se convertiría hoy en dia en la reina de Inglaterra a sus veintiséis años fue coronada con una majestuosa ceremonia llena de esplendor, celebrado en todo el mundo, y marcó el inicio de un reino histórico y longevo. Elizabeth Alexandra Mary Windsor accedió al trono del Reino Unido en 1952, el día después de que su padre, el rey George VI, muriera. Sin embargo, su coronación fue el 2 de junio de 1953, una ceremonia que será recordada para la posteridad por muchas razones. Una de ellas, por tratarse de la primera coronación real en ser transmitida por televisión: más de 27 millones de británicos la siguieron desde sus hogares y otros 11 millones por radio. Más de 2,000 periodistas y 500 fotógrafos de 91 países asistieron a Londres. Un detalle: una de las periodistas acreditadas como corresponsal del Washington Times Herald fue Jacqueline Bouvier, luego conocida como Jackie Kennedy.
Born on April 21, 1926 full of charisma and innate intelligence, she would become the present Queen of England; at twenty-six years of age she was crowned in a majestic ceremony full of splendor, which was celebrated around the world, and marked the beginning of a historic and long-standing reign. Elizabeth Alexandra Mary Windsor ascended to the throne of the United Kingdom in 1952, a day after her father, King George VI, died. However, her coronation was on June 2, 1953, a ceremony to be remembered in posterity for many reasons. One of them being it was the first real coronation to be televised: more than 27 million British people followed from their homes and another 11 million through the radio. More than 2,000 journalists and 500 photographers from 91 countries came to London. Fun fact: one of the journalists accredited as a correspondent for The Washington Times Herald was Jacqueline Bouvier, later known as Jackie Kennedy.

The dress, made of silk satin, was designed by Queen Elizabeth´s couturier, Norman Hartnell. According to Vanity Fair magazine, it had a heart-shaped neckline and short sleeves, and was embroidered with crystals and cultured pearls. All the Commonwealth countries were represented on the gown, including the: English Tudor rose, Scots thistle, Welsh leek, Northern Irish shamrock, Australian wattle, lotus flowers for India and Ceylon, and Pakistan's wheat, cotton, and jute. The United Kingdom is the only monarchy in the world that still keeps and uses all of its jewels, the Crown Jewels collection of England includes tiaras, earrings and pearls necklaces, like Queen Elizabeth II´s famed necklace, elegant and simple, denoting the majesty of a kingdom with so much history.

Compañeros de viaje Elegir con quién convivir 24 horas durante 15 días no es nada fácil (ahora imagínense elegir con quién vivir toda la vida :O), por eso antes de planear tu viaje, debes pensar muy bien quiénes quieres que sean tus compañeros de aventuras, momentos y experiencias, pues de eso también dependerá tu historia final.
En este último viaje, elegí a dos de mis mejores amigas (y ellas me eligieron a mi :P), que aunque las conozco perfecto y desde hace muchos años, nunca habíamos viajado juntas tantos días. Es importante ir con los mismos objetivos y en el mismo canal... No es tan fácil como suena, pues hay lugares que quizá tú ya has visitado antes, así que tienes que ceder en algunas cosas o si los intereses del otro son distintos; como visitar museos, ir de shopping, comer en buenos restaurantes o ¡hasta dormir más horas…! Todo esto es importante planear desde un inicio, ¡y se comienza con el presupuesto! La idea es ir más o menos con la misma idea de gastos, pues así será más fácil hacer tu itinerario. Si estás dentro del mismo rango de presupuesto no tendrás problema en modificar un poco. Si el rango es mucho, quizá te vas a molestar si te hacen gastar demás o si tú quieres algo mucho mejor y los demás quieren comer todos los días en McDonalds. Suena sencillo, pero todos estos detalles hacen la gran diferencia en las experiencias. Yo odio los tours, amo comer rico y casi nunca me importa cuánto me gasto en un restaurante, trato de moverme en Metro para ahorrar, y en los viajes no hago casi shopping, el hospedaje sí es importante que sea cómodo, limpio y bien ubicado pero no me importa que no sea el más lujoso, ¡pues estás muy pocas horas ahí!, pero la comida para mí es el punto más importante, sobre todo porque mi plan favorito es sentarme a disfrutar en un buen “spot” de la ciudad y ver el street style de la gente mientras me tomo una copa de vino. En esta ocasión visité París, Londres, Baku, Barcelona y Marbella. Luego les cuento más.

Traveling companions Choosing with whom to live with for 24 hours during 15 days is not easy (now imagine choosing with whom to live with your whole life :O), so before planning your trip, you must carefully think who you want as a fellow adventurer, for sharing moments, and experiences, because your final story will also depend on this.
On this last trip, I chose two of my best friends as travel companions (and they chose me:P), and although I have known them well for quite a while, we had never travelled together for so many days. It is important to have the same objectives and to be on the same channel... but It is not as easy as it sounds, because there are places that perhaps you have already visited before, so you have to compromise some things or consider your friends different interests; like visiting museums, going shopping, eating in good restaurants or even sleeping more hours…! All of this is important to plan from the start - and it all begins with the budget! You should more or less have the same idea on budget, so an itinerary can be easier to make. If you are in the same budget range you will have no problem modifying it a little. If the range is higher, perhaps you are going to become upset if the others make you spend a bit more or if you want to spend in something much better and the rest want to eat at McDonalds every day. Sounds easy, but all of these details make a big difference during the whole experience. I hate tours, I love eating good food and I don´t mind how much I spend at a restaurant, I try getting around by subway to save money, and when I travel I hardly ever go shopping, the lodging itself is important, it must be comfortable, clean and well located but I don´t mind if it isn´t the most luxurious, you´ll be there only for a few hours!, however food is paramount for me, especially because my favorite thing to do is sitting down in a good “spot” of the city and looking at people´s street style while I drink a glass of wine. This time I visited Paris, London, Baku, Barcelona and Marbella. I´ll tell you more later, Thanks for reading this column.

Born as a new culinary concept in the city of Guadalajara, El Aguachilito, a restaurant specializing in aguachiles (shrimp cooked in lime and chile) differ from the traditional green and red, surprising their customers with the 10 different types.

One of the preferred dishes of those seeking this type of delicacies are marlin (swordfish) and crab empanadas in wongton wrappers, or the tuna tostada toast also in a crunchy wongton wrapper; but if the heat sinks in, we highly recommend the coconut shrimp or the tropical aguachile and, of course, you can´t go without a michelada (spiced beer) with the special El Aguachilito touch.

El Fashion Show 2016, realizado en el hotel Grand Velas Riviera Nayarit, fue una noche de glamour, sofisticación y arte, en la que dos diseñadores mexicanos presentaron sus creaciones: Benito Santos, con la colección de prendas femeninas Crucero 2017, y Daniel Espinosa, con la colección de joyas Jewels & Art. Asimismo, destacó la presencia de la tapatía Melín Castro, Presidenta y Fundadora de MC Design, quien hizo el diseño de interiores para los hoteles Velas Resorts y es creadora de Azul del Mar, una marca de prendas, joyería y accesorios para playa.

Diseñó el vestido que portó Ximena Navarrete al coronarse como Miss Universo 2010; ha sido invitado al Fashion Week de Nueva York, Los Angeles y Vancouver; sus diseños han estado en el Festival de Cannes y en los Oscar, y fue recibió el Premio Nacional de la Moda 2014. Benito Santos is an important figure in the Mexican fashion panorama for his tailoring and hand-embroidering techniques. Urbania Interiorismo de buen gusto Para mostrar la forma en que estarán amueblados los departamentos del nuevo desarrollo Urbania, el pasado 22 de junio se llevó a cabo un coctel en el que fue reconocido el buen gusto de cinco prestigiadas firmas de interiorismo de Guadalajara que están a cargo del proyecto: Karen Collignon, Sofi’s Home, Sofas & Sillones Co., Casa Home y BM Home. El jurado lo formaron Julio César Chávez, de la Sociedad Mexicana de Interioristas A.C., directivos de Interamerican y de Grupo Península, así como conocedores del diseño de interiores, quienes nombraron ganadora a la firma BM Home, siendo el set del departamento muestra, y los demás participantes se llevaron una botella de Vino Campero, edición especial, que fueron intervenidas por artistas y pintores.

In order to show the way the apartments of the new development Urbania will be furnished, a cocktail was celebrated this past June 22, recognizing the excellent taste of five prestigious interior design firms of Guadalajara who were in charge of the project: Karen Collignon, Sofi’s Home, Sofas & Sillones Co., Casa Home and BM Home. The jury was comprised by Julio César Chávez, from the Sociedad Mexicana de Interioristas A.C (Mexican Society of Interior Designers A.C.), Interamerican and Grupo Peninsula area directors, as well as interior design connoisseurs, naming BM Home as the winner, with its sample apartment setting, while the other participants took home a bottle of Vino Campero, special edition, which were intervened by artists and painters.
