LETTER FROM THE EDITOR

There is a challenging question every professional journalist must answer as he is planning to launch a new project: – Why the hack we are doing this, when all the information we will gather in a few pages is already accessible on the web? People in the furniture industry can hit the browser anytime, and search for potential new suppliers. I was also facing this dilemma for a moment, and the answer I found became the reason why you are holding this special edition in your hands. It’s an open secret that in Romania are made large varieties of furniture products, and the country is a traditional furniture exporter for more than a century. Many producers have well established partnerships with their foreign clients, and many buyers know a few doors where to knock if they want to launch a new order in Romania — but life and business are changing fast these days. Talented new companies are raising up at dorn as good old ones are disappearing in the dusk. How the natural partners, the Romanian furniture maker and the foreign buyer will get to know each other? By searching on Google the needle in the hay?

Some will try, but most of them will give up, because an essential criteria will be missing: the trust. This can be only built on good reference and personal contact first, and later on signed agreements respected by both sides. The Furniture from Romania special edition is a project of the internationally known MagMob furniture magazine. We have invited a couple of relevant exporters to join us and present their products and services, and we have to say ‘thanks!’ to them for believing that this initiative will be a truly useful tool for the industry players. The company was founded in 1993 in Reghin as a family business. The team formed at that time represented the development core of a company, whose key words are: experience, professionalism and unity in the development of new and competitive products in every market. domain of activity: manufacturing garden furniture using softwood.

The MAGMOB furniture publication (short for Magazinul Mobilei, translation: Furniture Shop) is known as a source of inspiration for the retail sector, read by the Romanian furniture traders, interior designers, architects and even ﬁnal consumers who like to get the information from the professional source. The magazine is a print+online communication channel for furniture producers and import-export companies. Its content is structured in an accessible manner for all readers, to combine the B2B and B2C concepts in a specialized publication, keeping a ﬁnger on the pulse of the furniture industry worldwide. MagMob is published by the Fast Forward Editorial SRL, and its main

goal is to promote a wide variety of furniture products on the market, with special attention to the furniture made in Romania. As the most relevant furniture specialized magazine in Romania, MagMob is representing the country in the International Alliance of Furnishing Publications (IAFP).
