EDITOR’S NOTE Hey Gators! Your Bulletin Editor here! As many schools have started classes already, I hope you all are adjusting well to the new learning system and getting plenty of sleep. Anyways, hopefully you guys enjoy the August edition and I wish you all the best! Yours in Service, Ronald Lu Goldstone Divisional Bulletin Editor
AWARENESS MONTH For the month of September, CNH KIWIN’S District is creating a month-long event to boost membership and spirit among KIWINNERS! Every week will have a different theme with things to post. There will be a number of prizes for those with the most participation. Also, there are drawing entries where you have a chance to win merch bundles. There will be graphics released throughout the month so keep a lookout for updates from the CNH KIWIN’S Instagram.
DCON THEME 2021 Throughout last month, you had the opportunity to guess what the District Convention theme is for the 2020-2021 term! Every Saturday for the month of August, there was a hint graphic released on the district Instagram account @cnhkiwins. The first 3 people who guessed the theme correctly will win a special prize at DCON 2021! https://www.instagram.com/cnhkiwins/

DGOV’S MESSAGE What’s up Goldstone! It’s August and you know what that means. It’s the start of wildfire season. I’m just kidding. It’s the start of the new school year! This is an extremely important time for KIWIN’S, especially in terms of recruitment and membership. New clubs are being chartered as we speak right now :0. Our Membership Development & Education Chair Isabelle Oroc, our Membership Recruitment & Retention Committee, and Technology Committee have been working hard to get KIWIN’S Awareness Month up and running. The whole event is basically a huge social media campaign dedicated to celebrating and publicizing KIWIN’S in hopes of recruiting members. This is a completely new event, so I’d like to thank the overwhelming participation and engagement so far. That pretty much sums up August. There’s going to be more events and fun ways to participate in KIWIN’S in the future, so get hyped. Stay hydrated, Angela Batoon District Governor

Thank you for such a great month to start off this school year. As always, thank you so much for giving me the privilege to serve as your Lieutenant Governor. In order to be successful in whatever we put our brights to accomplish, never forget to take care of your physical and mental health. As we move forward, we are adjusting to a new school year which means club reason is right around the corner! Strive to recruit new members, create new friendships, and help guide our new gators! CNH Awareness month is a great way to move and spread the word of your clubs! Take advantage by participating and make sure to tag @cnhkiwins @yourclub’s Instagram handle with the hashtag #joinedkwins! CNH KIWIN’S PROJECTS MAJOR EMPHASIS LIVE2LEARN This is a program that promotes education and builds literacy skills that is specifically focused on ages 5-9 years old. It implements education support structures to assist kids of all levels and abilities to develop and embrace key skills to improve the chances of kids getting at least some of the opportunities afforded to more fortunate contemporaries. It creates endless possibilities to strengthen the common goal of service.
MINOR EMPHASIS PEDIATRIC TRAUMA PROGRAM It aims to raise awareness and funds to increase education about PTP and preventable accidents/injuries. The leading caused of death of children (infancy to 19 years old) in the US are motor vehicle accidents, physical abuse, drowning accidents, falls, and animal bites. It became a main focus of KIWIN’S in conjunction with California-Nevada-Hawaii Kiwanis in 1992. Our largest fundraiser for this is Fall Rally North and South!

GOVERNOR’S PROJECT UNICEF UNICEF works in over 190 countries and territories to save children’s lives, to defend their rights, and to help them fulfill their potential, from early childhood through adolescence. Through the Coronavirus Children’s Appeal, UNICEF helps to respond, recover, and ultimately reimagine the effects of Covid-19 on children. In all of its work, UNICEF recognizes the particular importance of early childhood development and adolescence. UNICEF programmes focus on the most disadvantaged children, including those living in fragile contexts, those with disabilities, those who are affected by rapid urbanization and those affected by environmental degradation.
CAUSE PARTNER & PREFERRED CHARITY ELIMINATE PROJECT & TRICK OR TREAT ELIMINATE PROJECT The Eliminate Project’s goal is to get rid of the disease, Maternal and Neonatal Tetanus (MNT), that affects thousands of mothers and children worldwide. Every 15 minutes, a newborn baby dies from this disease. The newborn becomes too sensitive to light , sound, and contact that it cannot even experience a mother’s touch. The Eliminate Project has raised over $82 million since 2012 to help vaccinate mothers and babies against this deadly disease.
TRICK-OR-TREAT FOR UNICEF Through Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF, Kiwanis International and UNICEF partners up in an effort to battle Maternal and Neonatal Tetanus.

EVENTS RECAP AUGUST
DCM
SUNDAY AUGUST 30TH The August DCM was a chance for members to bond and catch up on their lives as we begin to transition to online schooling. We also held a spirit animal card making service event for the Del Haven Community Center.
“August DCM by far was my favorite DCM! Shout out to the amazing Kiwanis Advisor and Goldstone Regional AdvisorMs. Wu for going all out dressing up as Princess Yue from Avatar: The Last Airbender. This theme was really enjoyable since ATLA has been my favorite thing to binge in my free time. Drawing the decorations of my spirit animals was also so fun because I could not stop laughing at how badly I drew Momo and Appa. It was nice to see everyone’s faces now that everyone is now in session for online school! Thank you for everyone who came out to this event and lastly thank you to Juliana for setting up this amazing event!”

UNICEF MATH GAMES GOLDSTONE X CRYSTAL SATURDAY AUGUST 22ND The UNICEF Math Games was a great opportunity to give back to the community through education. By completing short quizzes online, participants were able to raise money for children going into school and out of unfortunate economic situations. Every question answered unlocks $0.25 to be donated to UNICEF where they put the funds towards those kids in need. During this virtual event, we encourgaed KIWINNERS and Kiwanians to not only raise money on their own, but also help younger siblings or relatives sharpen their math skills and exercise their brain muscles!
“The UNICEF Math Games event was a new but super fun experience for me! Crystal Division has never hosted an entire event with another KIWIN’S division, so getting the opportunity to do so with Goldstone was really great. Juliana and I wanted to inform members about UNICEF while having fun and I think we accomplished that. Members seemed to really enjoy playing our icebreakers and i personally enjoyed hosting them as well. Getting to learn a little bit more about Goldstone members through items that represented them and music selections they chose was fun! I hope to continue collaborating on future events with Goldstone Division!”
