EDITOR’S NOTE Hey Gators! I hope you guys stayed safe during Halloween amongst a pandemic and all. After being in online school for so long, its easy to feel burnt out and tired of the repetition. Give time for yourself and find things to look forward to like Veteran’s Day off, or Black Friday sales, or Thanksgiving with your family. I wish you guys the best and hope you enjoy!

Yours in Service, Ronald Lu Goldstone Divisional Bulletin Editor

LTG’S MESSAGE Hey Goldstone Gators! Thank you for allowing me to serve such an awesome division. We are officially half-way through the term. Stay diligent and push ALL clubs’ members to get their dues paid since we collect them throughout this whole year, spread the ohana by sharing your experiences and memories, and apply for scholarships if you are a senior. Benefit from the resources that CNH Children’s Fund Scholarship Program has to offer. As we approach the ending of this year, don’t forget to take care of your mental/physical/emotional health. Regarding quarantine fatigue and end of year social events, don’t forget to take the necessary precautions to make sure we are being safe. Take responsibility and help flatten the curve by wearing masks. Let’s take a day to reimagine health. Lastly, take time for yourself, look for ways to better yourself and our community. Thank you for participating and spreading our divisional/district events! SEE YOU GUYS AT FALL RALLY! Goldstone Gators for the WIN!! DISTRICT PROJECTS 2020-2021|

CNH KIWIN’S PROJECTS MAJOR EMPHASIS LIVE2LEARN This is a program that promotes education and builds literacy skills that is specifically focused on ages 5-9 years old. It implements education support structures to assist kids of all levels and abilities to develop and embrace key skills to improve the chances of kids getting at least some of the opportunities afforded to more fortunate contemporaries. It creates endless possibilities to strengthen the common goal of service.

MINOR EMPHASIS PEDIATRIC TRAUMA PROGRAM It aims to raise awareness and funds to increase education about PTP and preventable accidents/injuries. The leading caused of death of children (infancy to 19 years old) in the US are motor vehicle accidents, physical abuse, drowning accidents, falls, and animal bites. It became a main focus of KIWIN’S in conjunction with California-Nevada-Hawaii Kiwanis in 1992. Our largest fundraiser for this is Fall Rally North and South!

GOVERNOR’S PROJECT UNICEF UNICEF works in over 190 countries and territories to save children’s lives, to defend their rights, and to help them fulfill their potential, from early childhood through adolescence. Through the Coronavirus Children’s Appeal, UNICEF helps to respond, recover, and ultimately reimagine the effects of Covid-19 on children. In all of its work, UNICEF recognizes the particular importance of early childhood development and adolescence. UNICEF programmes focus on the most disadvantaged children, including those living in fragile contexts, those with disabilities, those who are affected by rapid urbanization and those affected by environmental degradation.

CAUSE PARTNER & PREFERRED CHARITY ELIMINATE PROJECT & TRICK OR TREAT ELIMINATE PROJECT The Eliminate Project’s goal is to get rid of the disease, Maternal and Neonatal Tetanus (MNT), that affects thousands of mothers and children worldwide. Every 15 minutes, a newborn baby dies from this disease. The newborn becomes too sensitive to light , sound, and contact that it cannot even experience a mother’s touch. The Eliminate Project has raised over $82 million since 2012 to help vaccinate mothers and babies against this deadly disease.

TRICK-OR-TREAT FOR UNICEF Through Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF, Kiwanis International and UNICEF partners up in an effort to battle Maternal and Neonatal Tetanus.

ADOPT-A-MAILBOX October 5th - 9th, 2020 “This event represents an act of kindness towards the mail carriers that continue to work through this pandemic. Writing positive messages and supplying gifts is a good way to thank these people. It felt good to thank the people that are very important to the community. In all, this event is a great way to

give back to the people who continue to help and do their job. “ Written By Emma Fischer Chaffey HS

HALLOWEEN-THEMED DCM

HALLOWEEN DCM October 30th, 2020 Along with other fun Halloween-themed activities, our Gators got to participate in a costume contest! Our winner is Katrina Liang from Glen. A Wilson KIWIN’S!

“Hi everyone! I had a lot of fun at the October DCM! I dressed up as the kid russell and still can’t believe I won. Thanks to everyone who voted! Can’t wait for future DCMs and events!”

“Goldstone’s October DCM was overall really fun! It was super cool to see everyone in our division dressed up in Halloween costumes. My favorite part of the DCM was hearing about all the amazing things each club accomplished this month. I loved meeting new people and seeing how much we have grown since the beginning of the term!”

"Thanks for giving me this award. I have been relatively busy with college applications and things of that nature, so some good news really does help. KIWIN’S is a community oriented organization so receiving any acknowledgement of that nature is really gratifying; it makes me feel as though I really did something important just sitting in front of my computer everyday. Go Gators!"

“Hi Gators, first, thank you so much for this award! Knowing that my hard work is recognized and making an impact is so meaningful. This award not only fuels my motivation but pushes me to challenge myself even more. Let's get this spirit stick at Fall Rally!! “ - Oliva Rizk
