LTG’S NOTE Hey Gators, I am honored and humbled to serve as the Lieutenant Governor of Goldstone KIWIN’S for 2020-21. I am always inspired and impressed by how outgoing, passionate, and hardworking our division is whenever I have the opportunity to meet you. During these times, we have faced many obstacles, challenges, and new lifestyles. Now that our school year and summer school are finally over, I hope we can take a break, sit back, and focus on our mental/physical health. During the past few months, there has been an increasing number of COVID-19 cases, social movements regarding racism in the black community, and new regulations about staying at home. Goldstone KIWIN’S does not condone nor tolerate racial injustice. As the KIWIN’S the 32nd district of Key Club International, our motto is “One Family. One Mission. One Word: KIWIN’S”, we are a student-led organization that promotes the development of character and leadership through community service within the Kiwanis family. It is through introspection and educating ourselves and others that we can stand against racial inequalities because we believe Black Lives Matter and we stand by the Black community. Moving forward, let’s always try to find brightness within the darkness. For the month of June we had Color-a-Smile, a joint service event with D35E, a successful OTC/DCM with 38 participants, and Cards to Our Heros! Lastly, Emma Chang, the IP District Governor, was elected International Trustee. Congratulations Emma! Let’s make it our goal to continue getting stronger and closer throughout this term. Thank you to all our members who are working hard! I hope we are taking precautions by staying home and wearing masks to flatten the curve. Let’s continue chomping through service Gators and see you guys soon. Chomping through for service, Juliana Miranda Lieutenant Governor 2020-2021
