Phi Ta Khon: Each year, the old community of Dansai in the northwestern Loei province holds the Phi Ta Khon festival. The people of Dansai have combined two festival, Bun Phra Wet y the festival of the fourth lunar month, and Bun Bang Fai y the festival of the sixth lunar month commonly known as the bamboo rocket festival. It is a community where Paka-Kyaw people live. In 1971, the Paka-Kyaw people immigrated from Mae Teun, Mae Ramat District, Tak Province to setlet down nearby Wat Phra Buddha Bat Huai Tom, totaling 13 families. For this immigration, they all aimed to stay close to Luang Pu Khruba Chaiya Wongsapattana (Khruba Wong) to practice the precepts with the Luang Pu. And thereafter, Paka-Kyaw people had immigrated there increasingly, mainly from Tak, Chiang Mai and Mae Hong Son. Although Luang Pu Khruba Wong has passed away, but today, all the Paka-Kyaw people living in Ban Phra Bat Huai Tom still respect and practice good things as taught by Luang Pu. So, this is still a community of Buddhism where those who come to visit will absorb the beauty of the way of Paka-Kyaw people towards Buddhism through many major attractions in the community. But the prominent is to change clothes for the Khruba as a big event held at Wat Phra Buddha Bat Huai Tom during 15-17 May of each year. And the other one is a ceremony of Buddhaus footprint bathing at Wat Phra Buddha Bat Huai Tom during Songkran Festival.w These are the culture and tradition of the Paka-Kyaw people to be proud. The major attractions located within the Ban Phra Bat Huai Tom Community include vMaha Chedi Si Wiang Chaiw. It is a large golden pagoda remarkable to be seen afar, and the Paka-Kyaw people respect well. And there also is another place that is important and is a mental center of Paka-Kyaw people, that is, house heart or navel city built by Luang Pu Khruba Wong as a center for people in the community to attach to. Inside the pagoda, it contains stones from the main rivers. And there is a ceremony to prolong the life of the community to be held during April of every year. And another important sacred place of Ban Phra Bat Huai Tom Community is vWat Phra Buddha Bat Huai Tomw. It is the largest temple of Lee District and the temple Paka-Kyaw people. The temple has a wide area. The temple has many interesting religious places, such as Phra Chao Kao Tue Mondop that Luang Pu Khruba Wong dedicated to His Majesty the King. It is as a dome with roof, inside of which mirrors are installed around, enshrined with brass Buddha image in the attitude of subduing, modeled from Chao Kao Tue Wat Suan Dok, Chiang Mai. There is a hall covering the Huai Tom Buddhaus footprint, inside of which contains the Buddhaus footprint at the time the Lord Buddha came here. Luang Pu Khruba Wong made a model of the Buddhaus footprint to cover of the real one. There is a principal Buddha image PhorPorRor.
