Your Financial Wellbeing A Brew and a Chat with
Annabel and Tarnia from
TP Financial Solutions Tell us a bit about yourselves. We live and work in the lovely seaside town of Heysham and enjoy everything our local community has to offer. We love exploring the coastline with our two daughters and working in our family run business. Why did you start TP Financial Solutions? Having worked in financial services since 2007, we have seen the good, the bad and the ugly of this industry and felt sure we could offer something different. We are focussed on empowering clients to achieve their goals, whatever they may be. What do you want your clients to experience? We want to remove the fear and apprehension surrounding taking financial advice and help our clients to feel confident. The traditional image of blue suits, 4
boardroom tables, briefcases and formal conversation is about as far away from our approach as you can get. Tell us the best part about your job. We really enjoy working with our amazing clients. From those first enquiries, through the planning and implementation process to seeing them take control of their finances and gain a better understanding, it is so rewarding. The best part though, is just getting to know them, their children, grandchildren,
holiday plans, moving plans – we go on the journey with them. What does a Brew & a Chat with TPFS look like? Over the last 12 months, we have had to change our approach but however we are meeting for the first time, we start by understanding your primary goals, the reasons you picked up the phone in the first place. We answer any questions we can immediately, to help provide peace of mind and gather all the information we need to research your plans. We share our experience with you, so that you start to feel more engaged with your finances. Then What? Then we delve deeper. We research, we put together a plan and we design this to your specific requirements. We take into account your ethical and socially responsible preferences and we provide a

Your Financial Wellbeing solution for you to use. We then keep in touch. We continue to be there for our clients, we answer the phone, we reply to emails and we become your ally. What do your client’s get from a ‘Brew & a Chat’? In short, relief. So many of our
clients have been putting off financial planning. They are worried they ‘should know more’ and ‘should have done it sooner’. After they have taken that first step, they tell us they feel like a weight has been lifted. They feel more able to enjoy the process and
because they are more in touch with the plans, they feel more confident in them working.
Testimonial: “Once again Annabel has put me on the right track! I came to TP about 10 months ago for help with my finances and Annabel was simply wonderful. All these months on, she is there for me; at the end of the phone (or today on Zoom) to help me with those niggly questions that come up every now and again. I feel so much more confident about my finances now I have got Annabel on my side. We have such an easy relationship, I can ask her anything without feeling or seeming 'silly' or naive and she’s really helped take the anxiety out of facing some tricky decisions and future planning. For me, it’s all about building a relationship with someone I trust. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend TP Financial Solutions to anyone who’s looking for friendly, informal, sensible and reassuring advice.” Kate - Marketer

I
certainly didn’t. Redundancy after years in an occasionally fulfilling job in education diminished my sense of security and made me realise that my low mood and indifferent attitude to life were due to living in a state of fear and a wish to conform to the values of society and my upbringing. I left school at 16 with a handful of qualifications and a childhood filled with alternating states of exploration, creativity and happiness alongside a sense of alienation and loneliness due to bullying

and some very traditional parenting. I worked hard to get my degree and to work my way up the professional ladder, but nothing really impacted on my life or gave me a real sense of joy. My own untangling of life has been my journey, and now I help people realise their own power from my years of experience in finding what really works. As a result I can help you to get the freedom to live the life you deserve. Without spending loads of money, relying on medication, or using up lots of precious time, I can bring magic into your life with humour and practical, effective methods proven to get the job done. We’ve all been through the mill this past year! For many of us it’s highlighted aspects of life which need to change. Doubt, uncertainty, and isolation have led to depression and other physical and emotional conditions: emotional weight gain, insomnia, and a lack of direction and purpose. In my sessions I use a unique blend of RTT (Rapid Transformational Therapy) together with knowledge gleaned from my own life experiences and being a teacher of a very powerful meditation practice. RTT utilises a blend of hypnotherapy, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) and can bring about change from deep seated problems that have held you back from living the joyful life you so deserve. The power of RTT is phenomenal, and in 1-3 sessions it can help make lifelong changes. As life involves change, learning and evolution, I offer a range of packages and follow-up sessions to help with integration. ater is a fascinating, mystical, humbling substance without which we could not live and yet most people take it for granted. Dehydration is the start of every single health issue. Hydrating is the start of every single solution! Water is so crucial for health. It is so easy to become dehydrated, stress being the most dehydrating thing of all as there is such a powerful emotional component. When we are giving our bodies challenging liquids instead of plain, pure, alive water then it will turn off the thirst mechanism and your
This leads to stress and stress leads to dehydration resulting in a negative cycle. We need to learn how to kick-start our natural thirst for water and become more aware of the types of water available. The solution to pollution is dilution! As we begin to absorb how water connects us all and about how powerful you are in influencing the water as it passes through you; with your thoughts, emotions and the

substances you put into your body, it makes sense to ensure that as far as is possible our intake is of a higher ratio of positive (alkalising) to negative (acid-forming). I find that if I hold as my benchmark the ratio of the 80:20 rule then I can not only survive in this life and all it throws at me but thrive on all levels. Initially you will be visiting the toilet to pass more urine. This will cease once the body trusts that water is continually being replenished with fresh, filtered water and balance is regained.
An example of a good routine to establish:
• Keep your water intake away from food. 20 or 30 minutes before or after eating is ideal

• Drink the water in one sitting rather than sipping

• Half pint during the evening
• Drink the water at room temperature

Your Mind Counselling can help you: • Let go of emotions that you’ve bottled up for a long time • See your issues from a new and different perspective • Build healthier relationships • Learn how to cope when you feel anxious or depressed • Feel less alone or isolated • Build confidence and self esteem • Cope better with everyday life, feeling like a weight has been lifted
The Benefits of Counselling
C
ounselling, sometimes called Talking Therapy, involves talking with a trained therapist to explore thoughts and feelings that you may have buried or ignored. Many of us can find it difficult to voice our innermost thoughts and feelings, but bottling up our emotions can lead to depression, anxiety, stress and illness. Talking to a therapist gives you a safe space to open up about things you may be struggling with and find ways to move forward. Counselling can help you recognise unhelpful patterns of behaviour and explore ways to change them. It can help you learn new skills for building healthier relationships. A trained counsellor will listen without any judgement and help you explore your problems and issues practically, and at your own pace - whether you are feeling anger, guilt, sadness, grief, resentment or any other difficult emotion. 18
Sometimes it is difficult to talk to friends or family, you don’t want to upset them, or they may be part of the problem. Perhaps it feels embarrassing to talk to people close to you. Talking to a counsellor who is trained to listen and who won’t judge you, gives you the freedom to talk about things you may have kept inside, perhaps for a long time. This helps you to feel less alone and isolated. I believe that it is important that you feel comfortable with your counsellor, and most offer a free initial consultation so you can meet and talk about how they can help you. Once you feel comfortable with your therapist, counselling can help you feel understood, valued and appreciated for who you are. Finally, and most importantly, counselling helps you find your sense of self and some inner peace. Your Mind ??
Start That Conversation
by Holly McGinty (aged 16)
T
eenage mental health: a subject we are extensively aware of, yet hesitant in talking about. The way we feel and the way we are wired, are not always within our control. Young people can be under enormous amounts of pressure academically and socially, causing a damaging expectation to succeed in the minds of students. Do we really offer extensive support, mentally, to all students? Even the quiet ones? On average, 1 in 5 young people suffer from mental illness in the UK, a staggering amount to say how little we address the topic. Encouraging open conversations and normalising seeking help can vastly impact the number of teens who come forward and better their lives. We need to make teens see that admitting they need help is immensely brave and courageous and not a sign of failure. The media, especially social media, can be guilty of
It is now important more than ever to address the way we are feeling during this time of uncertainty. Specifically in correlation to young minds within the UK.
portraying mental health issues in a light-hearted way which can be harmful to young people who are highly impressionable and may then be reluctant to come forward with genuine concerns. Dodie Clarke, a singersongwriter, was hesitant in opening up about her own struggles with mental health, saying many of her fans who idolise her, began to copy and mimic her behaviour. However, it is important that celebrities are open and honest about their struggles, without glamorising them. It can really help young people to relate to someone they identify with. For example, recently Freddie Flintoff was on TV talking about his struggles with bulimia, this can only be a good thing. Professor Green has also been very open with his struggles with mental health. Debunking the stigma can highlight areas of teenage mental health we have abandoned, such as anxiety and
depression. Personally, as a teenager myself, I can tell you: there’s always someone who will listen and you are not alone. Maybe you’ve recently been feeling extremely anxious or potentially struggling with depressive thoughts. It’s important for you to acknowledge that starting a conversation with someone you trust, can only help the situation get better. Maybe you’re a parent reading this. If your child expresses their worries or asks for help - please be kind to them. The bravery accompanied with such exposure should be handled delicately, not with frustration or anger or worse, dismissed completely. Any issue, any distress, any troubles are all valid. You are not a burden, nor are you being dramatic, you are simply encouraging a conversation that can help you tremendously. You have the ability to be brave. Start that conversation.

Your Body Freedom from Back Pain
O
ur own body maps may have contributed to muscular and joint problems, where we believe that we are made up of stacked up bones, and gravity only falls down us. We also move as if we need to lift up against gravity when in reality this is not the case. We have an anti-gravity system and are made up of millions of springs. Building this into our conscious thinking can change the way we experience movement. We can ‘fall up’ and have the expansion of a spring when walking, bending to pick something up, or moving in and out of a chair. We (hopefully) do hundreds of movements a day, and if we do this in a detrimental way, we can quickly see that it could cause joint or muscular problems. If you think of a tennis ball, how does it respond when you throw it to the ground? This is how we can move too. We need to let gravity fall through us and push our support away in order for our natural balance and springs to work. Bringing this kind of movement into our lives makes movement a joy and an energising activity, just like children are when they move. It is difficult to grasp this concept by reading about it. Just like riding a bike, you need to experience this rather than read about it. The Alexander Technique helps you gain an experience of just this. It provides you with a skill you can apply throughout your life, a real investment in your health and to see you through your later life too. Many people have started running since lockdown. I have noticed in some cases, people start to lean forward when they run or pull their head backwards. This could then magnify joint damage as you are doing repetitive movements with more weight which is collapsing onto your joints. If you wanted to get more body awareness try using the wall as a tool to help you or if you are curious to know more then please do contact me for a free initial 15-minute consultation on 07929 151 240 or book a time with my online diary at: https://www.integratinghealth.com/

Discover how PEMF can support your Wellbeing?
A
s I arrived at the little courtyard outside the PEMFiT building, I instantly felt a lovely glow within me. It is a beautiful and historic building and as Pete Marroni, the brainchild behind the PEMFiT brand, met me at the door, he informed me that the Pulse Studio, also had spectacular views of Lancaster castle. I was hooked already! As the sun was setting, the studio had such a warm feeling about it and Pete informed me that the lighting was incandescent and was similar to the gentle glows of a fire and that the lamps all had a purpose, from the salt lamps to add negative ions to the air, to the Somvedic mineral lamps which support harmonisation of
26
the environment in a variety ways. With PEMFiT, everything has been thought of. There’s definitely something special about the environment, even before you begin your therapy. My session began by sitting in the welcoming seating area and being offered refreshing, purified and mineral-enriched water which Peter informed me works in conjunction with the Pemfit session keeping your body hydrated at a cellular level. I was finally ready to begin my treatment! So what is PEMF? It is Pulsed Electro Magnetic Field therapy, and is a drug-free, non-invasive, pain-relief alternative treatment, which may also promotes accelerated healing for ailments and injuries. In addition, PEMF
therapy could improve sleep, mental focus, and the body’s overall performance by helping the energy output and regeneration of the body at a deep cellular level. Pete informed me of many other healing testimonials that he has received and witnessed too, including his own journey from chronic illness to the amazing health benefits he enjoys today. I have to say, his skin looked amazing, so rejuvenated! Pete said that a PEMF session was like having a huge “dose of nature” directed to our cells to support the body’s self-healing and self-regulating process. He also informed me that his Lancaster and Reading Studios are the only sources of Pulse Centers brand PEMF in the UK so many people are travelling from all over the country for this treatment as, until now, it has only been available in the States, Canada, Australia or in Europe. Lancaster certainly is turning into such an epicentre of healing and it is such an exciting time for the city. I certainly felt like I was so privileged to experience such a prestigious therapy, that is often used in many hospitals outside the UK for natural healing and also by many sports people for healing injuries and also many
Roots of Life Wellness Magazine www.therootsoflife.co.uk
Your Body celebrities are using it too. Sometimes there are also other healing “bi-products” from PEMF too, for example, as the cells get recharged and the body becomes healthier and healing takes place, some people have also experienced weight-loss and opted for a healthier life-style. I began the first part of my session lay on the full body contoured bed. Pete put me at ease with everything, so I knew exactly what to expect, and when those first PEMF pulses began, he informed me that the pulses would find where my body needed the energy most. I imagined that they would go to my right shoulder, but I was dumbfounded to find that the pulses went immediately to my left shoulder, which was an old stiff shoulder issue that developed after co-sleeping with my third child. I had forgotten all about it! I was struggling to lift my left arm high up my back in
‘cowface’ pose in my Yoga practice ever since this injury began. “Heal away!” I thought. The treatment lasted around 40 minutes and with the background music, I can imagine that most people must fall asleep or enjoy a deep rest during the treatment once they are familiar with it. I was also lucky enough to sample the PEMF rocker chair to see how you can focus the PEMF energy to different parts of your back and the discs, where you can apply the PEMF energy yourself to any specific area that needs it. I also tried out the PEMF energy to support pelvic floor, which was just sitting on a stool and the PEMF energy directs to the pelvic floor area. I thought this was something that we really need in the UK as we do not support pelvic floor health post-natally like many other countries do.
As my session came to a close, I felt a gentle buzz of relaxation, that wonderful feeling you get after a long walk in nature or a mountain climb. That mixture of relaxation and exhilaration. It was lovely! I slept really well too. And I haven’t told Pete yet, but a day later, my arm went further up my back during my personal yoga practice and, for the first time in a couple of years, I reached my left arm up my back and my right finger-tips reached my left! So, something definitely shifted and began a healing process during that session. I would highly recommend anyone who wishes to go on a natural healing journey to experience PEMF and book in as soon as they can at PEMFIT. It may well be the first step on your journey to natural healing and recovery! By Katy Redford-Traynor

Whatever your personal view about the Covid and vaccination situation, there are professionals and laymen on both sides who are fighting to get their conflicting messages across. How does this make you feel? I know over the past year, I have experienced confusion, frustration, impatience, depression and at times, a sensation of being totally overwhelmed. If these feelings sound familiar to you, it’s time to take time out: Understand that the media feeds on fear and confusion; you can reduce a huge amount of stress and anxiety by reducing the amount of news you absorb. Choose the source of your media wisely – if you are able to go online you can control what you are exposed to. A fast track to depression is absorbing negativity.
Recognise that most people around you are currently living in fear. It is their choice, but it can be contagious. Avoid people who talk about nothing but Covid. They will demoralise you, and increase feelings of fear, stress and anxiety. Recognise you cannot change them. Accept that there is more than one truth, and that your truth may not be someone else’s. Everyone is entitled to their beliefs, even when they do not agree with yours - everyone is on their own life-path and you have to respect that. Know that what is right for you, and what is your truth, comes from within you, not from external sources. And no, your truth may not always agree with the official narrative, but that’s OK. Increase your feelings of wellbeing by practising compassion, doing acts of kindness, and observing negative thought patterns. Get out in nature, take deep breaths of fresh clean air. Know that ‘This too will pass.’
Make lemonade from your lemons. Have you been made redundant? Are you on furlough? We’ve been given a year to reevaluate our lives. Your mental health and physical well-being are paramount right now, so support your immune system. Count your blessings, tap into your creative soul and rediscover yourself again. Look into online courses or counselling that will help you access that inner wisdom. Be the phoenix rising from the ashes!

Xander’s Space An astrological overview of the coming season
T
here's a lot going on in the sky over the next few months, with almost all of the planets doing their best to assert their dominance. They each have a message for us if we just listen! One of the big themes of 2021 is the square between Saturn and Uranus, which increases and decreases in magnitude throughout the year. After easing off in March, this energy gradually intensifies again throughout April. The main characteristic you're likely to feel here is a struggle between restriction and freedom, or between conformity and rebellion. This is particularly highlighted around 21st-25th April when Mercury and Venus join the party too. This pull between Saturn in Aquarius (where he will stay for the next two years) and three planets in Taurus will have distinctly Venusian overtones, meaning we could
be faced with a battle between what we want and what is right. The next big story is Jupiter's ingress into Pisces, which will provide a window of muchneeded relief after the events of the last twelve months. It's far from plain sailing, but here we are presented with an opportunity to enjoy some respite. This will start on 13th May and last until 28th July. For this period Jupiter will be out of the clutches of oppressive Saturn and on his home turf in the land of empathy, compassion and oneness. These two months will serve as a preview of 2022, so take the time to pay attention to what happens in the realm of opportunities and growth. To gain some insight as to how this could affect you personally, think back to 2010 and the events that helped you grow then. Jupiter cycles work with surprising consistency!
Another important date to watch out for is 26th May when there is a total lunar eclipse in Jupiter's other home sign, Sagittarius. This represents a culmination of events that started on 14th December 2020. Eclipses tend to signify surprises that take a while to play out, so look back to December to figure out what this could mean for you. Then we have the second Mercury retrograde of the year, which occurs this time in Mercury's own sign of Gemini, the sign of conversation and fact-finding. This starts on 29th May and will last until 22nd June. Things to watch out for include misinterpreted details, unfortunate dualmeanings and malicious gossip. Now is a good time to remember not to believe everything you hear!

Your Soul
Our Happy Point “Love can be a verb and a noun, and sometimes an abstract noun”. So much for the dictionary description…
L
ove is quite simply the most powerful creative force, selfhealing energy and gift to wellbeing that exists!
1.
To plant the smallest acorn of self-love to grow into your inner oak tree of certainty, you need to find somewhere you will not be disturbed for the next twenty minutes. Sit in a relaxing chair or lay down if that feels more comfortable, as you start to concentrate all your attention solely on your breathing. Observe how your body feels; is there any tension anywhere? Gently move your shoulders or any other tense area of your body to release that tightness, as you continue to centre attention completely on your breathing.
2.
You are going on an inner journey deep into your essence to discover your Happy Point.
Whatever achievements we wish to accomplish, if they are worthy of our precious time and energy, they deserve to be invested in with a large healthy dose of love. Love for what we are doing turbo-charges the transformational energy permeating right throughout our reality, ensuring any desired changes are massively more likely to manifest themselves. Love invested in our actions means we are absolutely trusting in what we are doing. Here is something which we are showing to ourselves, and the universe that truly matters! We are making a resolute commitment to see this all the way through to its conclusion for the long-term awesomeness it brings into our life… The following exercise will begin the flowering of self-love within your heart. Please be sure to read through all the steps before starting the exercise: 32
3.
Gently ponder all the many facets making up your uniqueness as the person you are. Relaxing into the sensation, choose to focus on one part of who you are which you feel happy with. And it doesn’t matter how small or seemingly unimportant this single facet may appear to be. One brilliant fraction of all that makes up the whole of you, which works so well for you and always makes you feel at ease within and happy. One selected piece of the myriad of you which sits so beautifully with you that you would never wish to change it in any way.
Roots of Life Wellness Magazine www.therootsoflife.co.uk
4.
5.
Enjoy the warmth of the emotion as you concentrate all your attention entirely on how this wonderful part of you makes you feel when you think to feel deeply about it. Spend at least five minutes keeping the thought, the feeling, central to your feelings.
6.
Next, you need to apply a colour to that feeling. It does not matter what colour that might be, one which just seems right to your intuition is the perfect choice. This wonderful feeling now imaged together with your Happy Point colour of choice… Spend some time strongly visioning this colour as you bask in the warmth of the feeling.
7.
Let’s see how you can bring that warm feeling into other parts of your life and begin to transform through love. I mean wouldn’t it be amazing to feel this fabulous across the entire spectrum of the rainbow of you? Let’s make this happen… Still focusing deeply on the amazing feelings associated with this part of you that feels wonderful, now seen together with the colour this feeling is associated with… Slowly begin to realign your attention to instead think about some other aspect of yourself that you sense needs some definite work. Maybe this can be something you dislike in your own reactions to situations or a habitual pattern of thinking you empathically know has outlived its time.
What is happening here is the start of an inner transformational process. You are self-healing to welcome self-love into your life. Reprogramming old issues through healing them once and for all. And feeling far more comfortable in your own skin and accepting of who you are. We all have choices on which paths to take in life, and we are constantly presented with potential directions we can take. And now you possess your own personal map to self-love; take the time to follow it. We are all perfect at being ourselves, we just need reminding how. Then our higher-self, and through this our connection to source, grows stronger through every day of our life. Any time we find ourselves facing a challenging situation or tackling a potentially toxic person, if we recall and stay focused on the colour associated with our Happy Point, we bring love into the situation. And nothing is more empowering than love! You might even like to reinforce this process further by wearing or keeping the colour you

It is important here to only concentrate on the one area you sense needs work for this session.
9.
As you ponder how all the emotions associated with this more challenging part of you makes you feel, gradually overlay this feeling with the colour you associated with those beautiful, warm feelings you experienced a few moments ago. All you can now see in your mind is your Happy Point colour. Feel this! You deserve to really feel this!!!

Your Animal Wellbeing Your Pet is Your Mirror
A
s a People and Pet Therapist trained in various human and animal therapies, through my research and client work, I often see how pets are our messengers, showing us what we need to heal. The HeartMath Institute research shows our heart generates the largest electromagnetic field (EMF) in our body, which extends further out than the body itself – our ‘energy field’. The biggest way that pets sense the world is through EMFs, so they can pick up on our Heart’s emissions. They pick up not just emotions (e-motion being energy in motion), but they can also pick up on beliefs, phobias, physical symptoms (metaphysical level),
our past traumas, etc. because everything is energy. They pick up not just from owners, but other pets, people, and the environment. In multi-pet households, one pet often mirrors one person, or different aspects of multiple owners. Rupert Sheldrake describes how a group bond (morphic resonance) is created between pets and their owners too, watch his video of Jaytee as an example. So a dog can tell you when you are focussing on that German Shepherd and how you are feeling. If you are feeling fear, they will behave in a way to create safety e.g. attack, bark, chase away, because EVERYTHING A PET DOES IS TO FEEL SAFE. If you feel unsafe,
they will respond to that. This is also why we say focus on what you do want, not what you don’t want, because they will respond to your feeling and focus. In Parts work, I already know that what we dislike in others, we dislike in ourselves, and this applies to pets too. The more human qualities that we dislike in them, is what we dislike in ourselves e.g. neediness, people pleasing, etc. and it is up to us to do the self-acceptance and healing work in this regard. Two examples of this pet/owner mirror: Dogs that chase vehicles, bikes, etc. are looking to ground the emotional charge in their body (think lightning grounds in the Earth). The common mirror is the owner chasing connection – with themselves, a Higher Power or other people they can feel safe with. With over-protective pets, the owner is normally more protective of other people than of themselves, leaving their inner child/other parts of them feeling unprotected. The pet can sense it, and moves in to protect so the inner child feels safe, and thus the pet too.

Your Book Review “From Pills to Peace – My Journey Into Meditation” by Midnight McBride
M
idnight McBride’s life has changed quite drastically over the past five years. Drink and drug abuse, coupled with unyielding pressure and stress in both his work and personal life, created what he describes as a ‘mess’. Something had to give. Amongst the chaos, Midnight discovered meditation and his life gradually began to change. Although he admits his life is far from perfect, ‘it’s several light years away from where it used to be’, and most importantly, he is truly happy. Now a Buddhist, meditation teacher, author, guest speaker, radio presenter and podcast host. Midnight McBride’s mission is to promote good mental health by giving people the tools to alleviate stress and develop inner peace. His new book, From Pills To Peace, was number 1 in its category on Amazon. It describes the profound effect meditation has had on him and how it quite literally saved his life. Midnight McBride is regularly invited to be a guest speaker at various corporate, healthcare, community and private events; speaking for NHS Tinnitus Week and for the NHS Foster Carers Association. “Are you living in bliss? Most of us are not. We are suffering because of the way we think. Stress is our thoughts, born of the mind and therefore under our control. Through meditation, we can learn to reduce stress and develop inner peace. This book is about my Journey, how I arrived in this present moment. I had to take a very honest look at my life and also the world we live in. It isn’t easy, but it’s the first step towards freedom and the treasures that lie within. The answers you were looking for were here all along, inside your heart in the form of a song. Have you got the courage to sing it? It’s time to wake up! The other option is to stay asleep, eat
fast food, watch TV and take chemicals to numb the pain. I invite you to join me on my journey into the light. Come up and see the view.” “When you think from a beautiful garden, you will see flowers everywhere!” – MM For more information or to get in touch, please refer to the following: midnightmcbride.com Facebook - Instagram Twitter - YouTube 94.4FM Salford City Radio - Midnight McBride midnightmcbride@gmail.com From Pills To Peace – available now on Amazon

Illegally Alive
D
ee Mani-Mitchell made international headlines in 2018 when she revealed to the media that she had healed her aggressive breast cancer illegally using full-extract cannabis oil (FECO).
After finding a lump that seemed to have appeared overnight, the British mother was diagnosed with Grade 3 Triple Negative Breast Cancer (TNBC) in March 2017. TNBC is deemed the most aggressive type of breast cancer which medics believe can only be treated with a conventional toxic concoction of surgery, chemotherapy, and radiotherapy. Controversially the pharmaceutical industry has ulterior motives when prescribing chemotherapy purely for cash gain as high commissions incentivize them for the drug. Dee had the firsthand experience of this after training to be a pharmacist for many years. Coupled with the fact that she had lost her sister to chemotherapy five years previous to her diagnosis, she decided to opt-out of the traditional treatments favoring a combination of natural methods. After researching alternative treatments online, she stumbled across cannabis oil and its reported benefits. She found a 38
local supplier and began taking the oil every night by putting a tiny amount in an empty capsule and taking it before bed, which she described as “treating like a sleeping pill” due to its relaxing effects. Alongside the oil, she also used a range of immuneboosting and cancer-fighting supplements, changed her diet to plant-based, and fueled her body with nutrition from juicing. Meditation and grounding were also part of her protocol. Dee was given the all-clear in August 2017, just four months after using FECO, claiming that her win over cancer was mainly due to the cannabis oil. Dee said, “'Because of what happened to my sister, there was no way I was having chemo/radiotherapy. At first, when I spoke to the doctor, I agreed to everything I was told. I said I'd have one year’s worth of treatment, but at the time, I
wasn’t thinking straight, and my oncologist tried to rush my decision to sign the treatment plan consent form. However, I did my research into alternative healing, and based on the survival rate of TNBC, I knew I had a much better chance of survival without the use of toxic pharmaceutical drugs”. Dee also details how her oncologist very casually informed her that she would be dead within a year for refusing the medicine. Dee has now been cancer-free for almost four years and has since written an Amazon bestselling book detailing her cancer journey called "My Way.” She has also completed many medical marijuana courses, so she’s fully equipped with the knowledge to help other cancer patients and has found herself as a cannabis advocate due to the large following she has. The majority of her time is now spent supporting and mentoring other sufferers with their healing journeys. Dee is also a columnist for two medical marijuana publications where she writes to help raise further awareness by highlighting true life stories of different illnesses healed by cannabis oil. Every year almost 12,000 people die from breast cancer in the UK alone. In the USA, the figure is four times that. Stories

Your Seasonal Health like Dee’s are opening people’s eyes to the use of cannabis oil as a treatment for cancer, and it’s not such a taboo subject as it was before. When asked if she was concerned over the complications that could’ve arisen due to using an illegal substance, Dee responded that she’d rather be “illegally alive than not alive at all.”
instance, tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) is a type of cannabinoid, and it is also the compound that can cause psychoactive effects. Many research types have suggested that these cannabinoids have some kind of therapeutic value and benefits to humans.
that consuming these different compounds together may be a lot more beneficial than consuming the compounds separately. This being said, it’s no wonder that FECO is thought to be the strongest and most beneficial of all available cannabis oils.
Cannabinoids work together, creating medicinal effects.
What Makes FECO Medicine?
Terpenes, on the other hand, are compounds that produce interesting aromas. The cannabis plant contains many of them, and some say that there are over 100 different terpenes compounds in the plant. Cannabinoids and terpenes work together to create medicinal effects. For instance, myrcene may help THC enter your brain faster, and it’s considered to work as a sedative and relax muscles. It has been suggested
While FECO may still be illegal in many countries, CBD, another part of the plant, is now legal in most countries. As an extension to Dee’s advocacy, she has recently started a CBD business called My Way, where she can freely promote this miraculous plant’s healing benefits without fear of prosecution.
Cannabis users love FECO for multiple reasons. Firstly, FECO may just be the most potent medical cannabis product on the market. Also, something called the “entourage effect” is one reason why full extract cannabis oil is considered to be as powerful as it is. There are 545 chemical components in a cannabis plant. From all these compounds, at least 113 are related to cannabinoids. For

During a meditation session I asked, “Why am I here in the U.K.?” and the answer came back immediately “to find your Joy”. And so, I set out to consciously rekindle joy in my life, I began by carrying citrine in my pocket, I planted daffodils and in the morning I would “breathe in” marigold flowers (this also increases your psychic abilities; so, a good exercise). The Mercury Model - a celebration of mental uniqueness! Do you wonder why one child takes to your home schooling so easily while another vehemently resists? Would your life be easier or less stressful if you had a better idea of what’s going on in their heads?

lbert Einstein told us: ‘Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will spend its whole life believing it is stupid.’ This may be an excellent time to re-visit his profound observation. Families are living in much tighter quarters now, during lockdown, with everyone spending more time at home. For some, the close and continuous contact feels like a pressure cooker. Our houses
may seem smaller now. It may be a perfect time to take a new look at yourself and your family members. We can see that people behave differently – some are mildmannered, some are selfassured; while one may follow the crowd, another is fiercely independent. What is less wellknown is that our mental activities differ as widely as our behavioural styles. This is natural! Even in close-knit families, and at any age, we
can be mentally as dissimilar from one another as fish and foxes. Here is the truth – we are all wired differently. We think and learn differently, we communicate differently, and every one of us has natural mental strengths. Fish may be unable to climb trees, but it’s a monkey’s favourite activity. The Mercury Model easily identifies and accurately describes how our individual minds tick! It clarifies how each of us meets and greets new information, how we take it in, process it, store it, how long we may retain it, and how/if we express it to others. The Mercury Model pinpoints our unique ‘learning requirements’ – those specific factors which can either benefit or inhibit the uptake of information, including environmental features, being indoors vs. outdoors, noise level, solitary vs. group settings, pace of presentation, word style, use of props, visuals, activities, etc.

Your Natural Skin Care Collagen — What Is It and What Is It Good For? ollagen is the most plentiful C protein in your body. It has various important roles, including providing structure to your skin and helping your blood clot. Collagen is the most abundant protein in your body, accounting for about one third of its protein composition. It’s one of the major building blocks of bones, skin, muscles, tendons and ligaments. Collagen is also found in many other body parts, including blood vessels, corneas and teeth. Collagen is a protein that provides structure to much of your body, including your bones, skin, tendons and ligaments. One of the visible signs of this is in your skin, which becomes less firm and supple. Cartilage also weakens with age.
You may be able to help your body produce this important protein by making sure you get plenty of the following nutrients: • Vitamin C. Large amounts are found in citrus fruits, bell peppers, and strawberries • Proline. Large amounts are found in egg whites, wheat germ, dairy products, cabbage, asparagus, and mushrooms • Glycine. Large amounts are found in pork skin, chicken skin, and gelatine, but glycine is also found in various protein-containing foods • Copper. Large amounts are found in organ meats, sesame seeds, cocoa powder, cashews, and lentils
Perhaps it’s even more important to avoid the following collagendestroying behaviours: Eating too much sugar and refined carbs. Sugar interferes with collagen’s ability to repair itself. Minimise your consumption of added sugar and refined carbs. Getting too much sunshine. Ultraviolet radiation can reduce collagen production. Avoid excessive sun exposure. Smoking. Smoking reduces collagen production. This can impair wound healing and lead to wrinkles. Some autoimmune disorders, such as lupus, can also damage collagen.
Achieve the youthful looking skin you desire! Did you know that after the age of around 30 our body starts producing less collagen? As result of this decline in production the signs of ageing start appearing. Fine lines, wrinkles, joint pain, osteoarthritis, osteoporosis all the things we dont want and want to delay happening for as long as possible. What if I told you that I have the perfect product to help your muscles, bones, and cartilage, hair, nails and skin to look more youthful?
Synergy’s Collagen+ is one of the best on the market, it offers all the benefits of collagen plus Vitamin C, Hyaluronic Acid, and Zinc. This synergistic blend of vitamins and nutrients supports collagen production, hydration, and normal protein synthesis for the whole body, giving you powerful support for total body benefits! After reaching 50 fine lines were starting to appear and I wanted to take something that was good for my skin and body. The Results could be seen in as little as 2 weeks. My skin felt more youthful, firmer and brighter.

Your Review Holistic Silk - Rejuvenating Sleep Set Review Pillow slip Made from 22 momme 100% Mulberry Silk - What a treat - beautifully packaged. Really comfortable to lie on - very silky and smooth; my face just glided across the slippery surface, truly glamorous - a little bit of luxury. Great fit for my pillow. Washed really well - no need to iron as the wrinkles naturally disappeared when used again. Eye mask Delicious lavender smell (little dried lavender flowers carefully sown into eye mask) - once on my eyes they immediately felt smoothed and calm and I fell asleep with the aroma of lavender circling my head. Your Environment Top that! A local recycling project to strengthen our local circular economy
M
y name is Michael Hallam and I am the founder and Network coordinator for the Ethical Small Traders Association (ESTA). www.lancasteresta.org Ultimately our personal health depends on the health of the wider environment, which is why the ESTA Network is prioritising our environmental impact and the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG's) in 2021. In particular we are focussing on Goal 12: "Responsible consumption and production". This means doing what we can to make our local manufacturing, supply and waste chains as 'clean' as possible. Just as our bodies depend upon wellfunctioning balanced cycles to function healthily then so too should our economy, industry and society. Too many toxins building up can ultimately be fatal. One of the biggest 'toxins' is all the plastic waste we continually
generate. That’s why ESTA has teamed up with the Small Green Consultancy and Precious Plastic Lancaster to launch the Plastic Bottle Top Project. (PBT). We launched in the autumn and our goal is simple: We are asking people to keep hold of the tops they generate in their household, clean them and take them to one of our independent local retailer collection points. From there they are sorted into different colours and types and taken to Precious Plastic Lancaster team, where they are shredded and made into new durable household items (plant pots, soap dishes, combes, etc) to create a local circular supply chain. We are also asking local businesses to pledge financial support to the project, based on the number of tops that are collected. In return they will be awarded Social Value points to
demonstrate that they are actively giving back to the local community. We have got off to a flying start with over 10,000 tops collected to date and have over 300 members in our project Facebook Group: Plastic Bottle Top Project. Eventually we hope to have several projects on the go, where local materials, which could otherwise go into the waste stream provide the raw materials for local artisan re-manufacturers, whilst building up a fund to support local community organisations that are seeking to address the root cause of local poverty. So start collecting, join our Facebook group and, if you are a business consider making a donation pledge. If your business is interested in pledging support please contact info@lancasteresta.org for more details.

s spring begins and new life awakens it’s our human nature to connect with the natural world. I find it a time of positivity and high energy with plants blooming and new life emerging. Research tells us that spending at least 2 hours a week in nature is associated with good health and wellbeing, although I would recommend much more! I have spent many years working in the environmental and conservation sectors to heal the land, and now I work with the land to heal people. The natural world has been such an important part of my story and I want to help everyone discover the healing power of nature. Ever since I was a child I have always been drawn to nature in times of distress. As a teenager I had a favourite tree I would sit with in times of upset, it felt like company and that it understood. As I grew older, I began to feel a real need to be outside and connect with nature in various ways, which led me to pursue a career in caring for the environment. It’s not surprising that I felt this way as it turns out that being in nature is a natural antidepressant, boosting our mood and self-esteem, increasing levels of serotonin and dopamine our ‘happy hormones’. Being outside, especially in the sunshine, also increases our vitamin D levels which boosts our immune system, strengthens our bones & muscles, and enhances our mood. But whilst being in nature is important for our health and wellbeing, it is our connection with nature that brings the greatest benefits to our mental health, which I was to discover.

After having my second child I found myself very stressed, feeling like there was no escape from the pattern of bouncing between baby and child’s needs. I felt the pressure rising within me and I had no idea how I would cope when I went back to work. Two things helped me to avoid a breakdown – one was mindfulness and the other was my connection with nature, and I discovered that combining the two doubled the effect. I already spent a lot of time outside with my children, but I
began to seek even more time outdoors, in all weathers. In my few moments of solitude, I would be drawn to the woods or the water, engaging all my senses with my surroundings and spending time with the trees. It is very easy to be mindful in nature as there is so much stimulation for the senses. Gradually I began to feel calmer, more grounded and much, much happier. After several years of combining nature connection and mindfulness I read about forest bathing and realised this is what I was already doing and that this was my calling – to reconnect people with nature to heal themselves and to heal the Earth. Forest bathing or Shinrin-Yoku is a natural wellbeing therapy originating from Japan. It means to ‘bathe or bask in the forest atmosphere’; taking in the forest through all of our senses. It is the perfect way to relax, unwind and connect with the natural environment, allowing time to switch off from the pressures of life and simply ‘be’ surrounded by the healing energy of the forest. Walking mindfully and engaging in sensory experiences
allows us to connect with nature, connect with our intuition and find inspiration in the natural world. There is robust science and evidence about the benefits of forest bathing and these include: • Reducing stress • Improving mood • Boosting the immune system • Reducing blood pressure and pulse rate • Accelerating recovery from surgery or illness • Increasing energy levels • Improving sleep Forest bathing and mindfulness in nature can be enjoyed at any time of year and are wonderful ways of tuning in to the seasons and cycles of nature.

e id S d il W e h t n o im w S A Deborah Monshin er. Windermere. Edited by Pipp King, Outdoor swimm
I
began my wild swim journey 4 years ago. I've always been a keen swimmer, but before moving to the Lake District I was pounding the pool, mile upon mile of chlorinated, eyestinging, chemical hell. Although the exercise gave me the fitness, strength and flexibility I wanted, the experience was emphatically underwhelming. Once I relocated, it soon dawned on me that I had the opportunity to change my life. Surrounded by natural un-crowded pools and the most amazing scenery. I'm an outdoors swimmer, a lakes & tarn swimmer, a seeker of swimming hedonism. It resets my mind and my stress levels, I am forced to focus on the absolute immediate, the here and now. I very often swim alone, alone with my thoughts and feelings, letting the water calm and reassure me. It makes me remember how strong and determined I can be. And it's addictive!
54
The feeling of cold water on our nervous system, can give relief from muscle aches, headaches, and tinnitus. Many people wild swim for mental and physical well-being or to be totally immersed in nature and their surroundings. It’s important to be aware of the weather and the swimming conditions it brings, even as a strong swimmer. For me, wind is probably the worst: wind brings the choppy waters and the really cold, unexpected slap in the face that makes you gasp for life. Mental strength is needed to reset the composure, get the breathing back under control, and keep swimming! It
is hard to train yourself to expose yourself to extreme drops in temperature, but this exhilarating feeling is well deserved as a reward for dogged determination. Swimming in the rain is one of the best experiences, watching it arrive over the fells and into the lake can be mesmerizing. If you are considering wild swimming, find a group, and learn how the water can affect you as an individual, and build your confidence. The outdoor swimming community is everywhere, friendly, supportive and non-judgemental. Invest in safety equipment and neoprene, and layer up when you get changed. Hot drinks and cake afterwards is a must! Enter the water slowly and carefully to avoid cold water shock. When swimming solo, stay close to shore, let someone know where you are, and text them when you're back on dry land! Swimming anywhere involves risk, so always respect the water.

Nordic Walking Nordic Walking is a specific fitness technique and is not to be confused with trekking, hill walking or trail running as the poles are not planted in front of the walker/runner but in a specific way that increases the use of the upper body. It can be done by anybody, anywhere and does not require expensive equipment or clothing. The magic happens when you do this with other people. This is why our WALX are so popular and why people stick with us for years. A complete contrast to a wasted annual gym membership fee (and we’ve all been there). When walking in the outdoors with others time flies, you feel safe, you know you’re not going to get lost, you explore new locations, you make new friends, you quickly forget the worries of the day, you freshen your mood, and you leave feeling energised.
