The King William Wilmslow a lovely local stay
Found in the bustling centre of Cheshire’s leafy Wilmslow, The King William hotel is quaint and charming, a real home away from home The recently renovated rooms are clean and quirky and although the bathroom is a little basic, the contemporary decor and incredibly comfy bed more than make up for it. Plus, it’s a super-cosy and snug place to wake up on a rainy Sunday morning too! You don’t have to go far to make your morning brew either – there's a handy kettle set-up right next to the bed!
The pub is dog friendly and boasts a large hidden courtyard-style beer garden, so it’s the perfect spot to visit as we head into spring. The King William is the ideal place for a little night away if you’re not looking to travel too far afield. And, as a favourite of famous local faces, you’re sure to bump into a Real Housewife or two!
Delicious pub grub It’s safe to say The King William’s Sunday roast was one of the best we’d had for a long while. A man of many talents, Lee is also a trained chef and his Yorkshire puds really caught our attention – gorgeous and ginormous! We were given a warm welcome by bubbly General Manager Lee, who showed us to one of the six bedrooms, where chocolatecovered strawberries and Champagne were waiting for us. If you’re staying over for a celebration, an anniversary or birthday perhaps, then the staff at the hotel are happy to offer this little added extra.
We noticed pub staff had to actually turn visitors away as they were fully booked for roasts – a sure sign of a good thing. The amazing atmosphere created by a talented live singer proved a huge draw too. There’s live music at the venue every Thursday and Sunday, so don’t miss out.
