Δεν μπόρειΣ ευκόλα να πειΣ πόια από τιΣ δυό ειναι πιό όμόρΦη… Μπορείς, όμως, να αναγνωρίσεις και στις δύο, δυναμισμό, στυλ και αγάπη για την καλή ζωή, αλλά και τον θαυμασμό που τρέφει η μία για την άλλη. Η υπερδραστήρια Ναταλία Δραγούμη, αυτόν τον καιρό, πρωταγωνιστεί στην κωμωδία του Χαλ Σάλγουεν, «Αναμείνατε στο ακουστικό σας» στο Θέατρο Ακάδημος και στην κινηματογραφική ταινία «Mαριονέτες» του Παντελή Καλατζή. Η Κάτια Δημοπούλου, ως πρώην διευθύντρια κάποιων από τους μεγαλύτερους, διεθνείς τίτλους γυναικείων περιοδικών στην Ελλάδα, γνωρίζει καλά τι σημαίνει αληθινό στυλ και μόδα με ουσία. Μετά από μεγάλη απουσία και ακόμη μεγαλύτερη περισυλλογή, αποφάσισε να δημιουργήσει την εντυπωσιακή συλλογή από φουλάρια Peplos, αποτυπώνοντας στα μεταξωτά της μαντίλια τα πιο όμορφα κυκλαδίτικα ηλιοβασιλέματα.

Πώς ξεκίνησε αυτή η φιλία; ναταλία Δραγούμη: Γνωριστήκαμε μέσω του Διονύση Φωτόπουλου, το 1991. Τότε, τελείωνα τη σχολή μου και πήγα μαζί με τον Διονύση να παρακολουθήσω κάποια γυρίσματα στη Μόσχα και να κάνω μία φωτογράφιση με τον Τάκη Διαμαντόπουλο. Στο αεροπλάνο, λοιπόν, συνάντησα μία πολύ όμορφη γυναίκα, με την οποία συνδεθήκαμε αμέσως. Ήταν η Κάτια, διευθύντρια περιοδικού τότε, η οποία βρισκόταν εκεί για αυτή τη φωτογράφηση. Κάτια Δημοπούλου: Έπειτα βέβαια από αυτό το ταξίδι, η σχέση μας γινόταν όλο και πιο δυνατή, δενόμασταν σιγά σιγά, συναντιόμασταν σε παραστάσεις και σε πρεμιέρες αρκετά συχνά και χτίζαμε μία βάσιμη σχέση. Όταν εκείνη έμεινε έγκυος στην κόρη της, την Κλειώ -της οποίας εγώ βρήκα το όνομα-, έγινα και η νονά! IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO SAy WHICH OF THE TWO WOMEN IS MORE BEAuTIFuL… you can, however, easily recognise their energy, style and love for the good life, as well as the respect they have for one another. natalia Dragoumi, as active as ever, is currently starring in hal Salwen’s comedy “Denise Calls up” at the Akadimos Theatre and can also be seen in the film “Marionettes” by Pantelis Kalantzis. As the former Editor-inChief of some of the largest international fashion publications in Greece, Katia Dimopoulou, is well versed in style and fashion with substance. After a lengthy break and even longer period of contemplation, she decided to found Peplos, an impressive scarf collection depicting the most beautiful Cycladic sunsets.

When did you first become friends? natalia dragoumi: We were introduced by Dionysis fotopoulos in 1991. At the time, i was at the end of my studies, and i went to Moscow with Dionysis to watch some filming and take part in a photo shoot with Takis Diamantopoulos. On the airplane, i met a gorgeous woman and we hit it off immediately. it was Katia, Editor-in-Chief of the magazine, who was also going to Moscow for the shoot. katia dimopoulou: After the trip our friendship bloomed, we slowly became closer and closer, often meeting at shows and premieres, and together we built a deep relationship. When natalia was pregnant with her daughter Cleo, i came up with the name, and then became her godmother!

Πώς προέκυψε η ιδέα για τα φουλάρια peplos; Κ.Δ.: Αφότου «τελείωσα» με τα περιοδικά, άρχισα να ψάχνω το digital printing, μελετώντας και τις συλλογές της Mary Katrantzou, που το χρησιμοποιούσε για τη δημιουργία των υπέροχων υφασμάτων της. To έψαξα πολύ και σκέφτηκα ότι θα μπορούσα να αποτυπώσω πάνω σε ποιοτικά υφάσματα ό,τι ονειρευόμουν να κάνω σε σελίδες περιοδικού. Γιατί να μη γίνει «σελίδα μου», ένα ολομέταξο φουλάρι; Την αρχική ιδέα φωτογράφισε ο Τάσος Βρεττός, με στόχο την απαθανάτιση της έμπνευσης κάθε συλλογής, όπως, για παράδειγμα, τα ηλιοβασιλέματα. Εκτός όλων τούτων, μου αρέσει πολύ να φοράω φουλάρια.

Η κόρη σας, Melia kreiling, κάνει τα πρώτα σημαντικά βήματα στο Χόλιγουντ. Πώς ξεκίνησαν όλα; Κ.Δ.: Η Melia χόρευε από μικρή και αυτό ήθελε να κάνει και επαγγελματικά. Πήγε στην Αγγλία, πήρε πτυχία χορού, όμως απελπίστηκε όταν χτύπησε το πόδι της και συνειδητοποίησε πως δεν θα μπορούσε να χορεύει όπως ήθελε. Ετσι, ο φίλος μου και φωτογράφος Τάσος Βρεττός και εγώ την «πιέσαμε» να ασχοληθεί με το θέατρο. Τελικά, το ακολούθησε, αρχικά στο Λονδίνο και έπειτα στην Αμερική. Βρήκε ατζέντη, έφτιαξε το showreel της και έκανε την πρώτη της δουλειά στη σειρά εποχής «Βοργίες» καθώς και την πρώτη της ταινία «Οι Φύλακες του Γαλαξία». Τώρα ζει μόνιμα στο Λος Άντζελες.

Εσείς, κυρία Δραγούμη, αγαπάτε πολύ αυτό που κάνετε. τι σας έλκει περισσότερο στο επάγγελμα του ηθοποιού; ν.Δ.: Οι συναντήσεις με τους άλλους ανθρώπους πίσω από τα φώτα και η γλυκιά συνωμοσία του θεάτρου. Ένα βλέμμα στη σκηνή που είναι δικό μας, ένα άγγιγμα και αυτές οι βραχυπρόθεσμες σχέσεις που αναπτύσσονται στο θέατρο, δεν κρατάνε πολύ, αλλά είναι πάρα πολύ έντονες.

τι σας έχει μάθει το θέατρο; ν.Δ.: Με έχει μάθει ότι κάθε μέρα έχω να παλέψω με κάτι. Με τους εσωτερικούς μου εχθρούς, που πρέπει να εξολοθρεύσω για να πάω μπροστά, με τα εμπόδια που μου βάζει ο ίδιος μου ο εαυτός, τα οποία πρέπει να ξεπεράσω και με εξελίσσουν σαν άνθρωπο.

τι θα θέλατε να κάνετε στο θέατρο που δεν έχετε κάνει ακόμα; ν.Δ.: Θα ήθελα πολύ να παίξω Τσέχωφ. Έχω παίξει ήδη σε τρία έργα του, αλλά θα ήθελα να συμμετάσχω και σε άλλα, και μάλιστα εποχής -όχι στη σύγχρονη εκδοχή τους. Μεγαλώνοντας, θέλω να γίνομαι πιο «κλασική», κάτι που δεν θα διενοούμην παλαιότερα. Ήμουν η πρώτη οπαδός της αποδόμησης των θεατρικών έργων, όμως τώρα θέλω το κλασικό, όπως νοσταλγώ… το πατροπαράδοτο φαγητό της μαμάς μου.

Ποιο είναι το αγαπημένο σας σημείο στην πόλη; Κ.Δ.: Η Ακρόπολη! Μου αρέσει όμως και η βόλτα στη Βαρβάκειο αγορά, στην οποία πηγαίνω κάθε Σάββατο. ν.Δ.: Εγώ αγαπώ πολύ το κέντρο, ιδιαίτερα το Κολωνάκι. Πρόκληση για κάθε επισκέπτη πιστεύω πως είναι να αισθανθεί αυτό το νοσταλγικό allure της πόλης. How did you come up with the idea of peplos scarves? k.d.: When i “finished” with magazines, i began to look into digital printing, studying the collections of Mary Katrantzou, who used it to create her amazing fabrics. i researched it thoroughly and thought i could capture the images i dreamt of for the pages of magazines on fabric. Why not make a silk scarf “my page”? Tassos Vrettos photographed the initial idea, with the aim to capture the inspiration behind each collection, for example sunsets. And i also love wearing scarves.

your daughter, Melia kreiling, is taking her first steps in Hollywood. How did it all begin? k.d.: Melia has been dancing since she was a little girl and wanted to become a dancer. She went to England, got a degree in dance, but became frustrated when she injured her leg and realised that she wasn’t able to dance the way she wanted to. My friend, photographer Tassos Vrettos and i “persuaded” her to turn to theatre. in the end, she did, initially in london and later in America. She found an agent, shot a showreel and got a role in the period television show “The borgias” and in the film “Guardians of the Galaxy”. She has now settled in los Angeles.

and you, Mrs dragoumi, love what you do. What is it that attracts you to acting? n.d.: Meeting the people behind the lights, and the delightful collusion of theatre. Exchanging a look on stage that has meaning, a touch, and the short-term relationships that develop in theatre, which are intense, even though they may not last long.

What have you learned from the theatre? n.d.: it has taught me that i have something to fight with every day -with my internal demons, which i must vanquish in order to move forward, the barriers i myself put up, that i must overcome and that help me evolve as a person.

Is there anything you would like to do in the theatre that you haven’t done yet? n.d.: i’d really like to do another Chekhov play. i’ve already done three, but i would still like to do more, and in their original form -not just the modern versions. As i mature, i hope to become a more “classical” actress, something i never even dreamed of when i was younger. i was a staunch supporter of the modification of theatrical plays, but i now yearn for the classical, in much the same way as i yearn for… my mother’s traditional cooking.

What is your favourite place in athens? k.d.: The Acropolis! i also like walking in the Varvakeio market every Saturday. n.d.: i adore the centre, particularly Kolonaki. i think that experiencing the nostalgic allure of the city is a challenge it poses each visitor.
