Il nostro corpo viene tenuto insieme da 18 a 23 chili di tessuto connettivo, chiamato anche fasce. Esso collega tutte le strutture interne del nostro corpo tra loro ed è costituito principalmente da proteine, acqua, collagene ed elastina. Con circa il 30%, i collageni sono le proteine strutturali più abbondanti nel nostro organismo. Sono leggeri, elastici e allo stesso tempo molto resistenti: la loro resistenza alla trazione è superiore a quella dell’acciaio.
