WELLNESS THROUGH THE ARTS

1120. Using Art As an Extension of Your Emotions to Promote Healing and Wellness Often people turn to art to de-stress and refocus, but can’t think of how or where to start, only to give up in frustration. In this situation, the health benefits of art are overshadowed by the confusion of how to get started. This inspiring workshop gives you a starting point, a way to focus, to bring art into your life as an extension of your thoughts and emotions to promote healing and overall wellbeing. 1115. A Woman’s Journey Through Art and Life “I believe that true identity is found . . . in creative activity springing from within. It is found, paradoxically, when one loses oneself. Woman can best re-find herself in some kind of creative activity of her own.” –Anne Morrow Lindbergh Regardless of her age, a woman often finds herself perpetually giving of herself to others. Perhaps instinctually, a woman gives and nourishes others—children, partners, society—often at the expense of her own desires and creativity. We give where needed, but often not to ourselves. Explore the depths of that which is personal, creative, and solely yours. Through photography or drawing—your choice—and journaling tap into the imaginative spirit that is uniquely woman. Explore the roadblocks that we and others create for ourselves that keep us from reaching our true passions and life goals. This is a great opportunity to explore your creative essence in the company and support of like-minded peers. Class is limited to 8 participants.
