Scottsdale Ranch Real Estate Update

Peggy Rauch

As we near the end of 2020, I don’t know of anyone who will be sorry to see it end. It has been more than strange in every way possible beginning with the pandemic and drawing to a close amidst the crazy election.

We pray daily for the health and safety of all of you – our valued friends and clients and hope that we are all here together to welcome in what we can only hope will be a year of normalcy. Our visitor season will – most assuredly – be lighter than usual this year due to travel restrictions and fear of illness. One of our largest groups of snowbirds come from Canada and they cannot even cross the border into the United States this year. We will miss them dearly. Even with this uncertainty, our market continues to be brisk and our inventory levels continue to drop. There are just not enough good homes on the market to satisfy the large numbers of buyers that we do continue to see. We have a list of people that we continue to search for and hope to satisfy their housing needs soon. If you have any thoughts of selling your home, be sure to give us a call for a no obligation, no cost market analysis and allow us to add you to our ever growing list of satisfied clients and customers. Scottsdale Ranch is and will remain one of the most desirable locations in the Valley of the Sun and we are proud that it is our area of expertise for over 30 years. No matter what the general market does, Scottsdale Ranch always holds its own. We have compiled the activity since the first of the year to give you an idea of what has and is happening in Scottsdale Ranch. • There are 20 active listings and 5 of those are condos • There are 10 condos “under contract taking backups” • 9 homes “Under contract taking backups” • There are 8 condos pending which means conditions have been met for the sale • There are 13 single family homes pending • There have been 61 condos sold and closed • There have been 122 homes sold and closed These statistics show that we are really in need of good listings and it is a seller’s market. We are here to help if you decide to jump into the market

Thinking of selling your home? Tired of waiting for you home to sell? Looking to make a move now before prices escalate again? Why not give us a call and let us add you to our ever growing list of satisfied clients and customers. We have a proven track record throughout Scottsdale Ranch and surrounding areas. We have been here from the very, very beginning and our knowledge and experience allow us to stand above the crowd. Inventory is at an all time low so - jump in now and capitalize on the scarcity of available homes. We are here to help. PAID ADVERTISEMENT

Manager’s Report By Kathe M. Barnes, CAAM, LSM, PCAM Executive Director

Interested in being on the Board – Do you have what it takes? If you’re considering running for the board, take a few moments to ask yourself the following three questions: Do I have the time? As a board member, you will need to devote at least several hours of your time each month to association business. In addition to regular monthly board meetings, you will need to be active in preparing for the board meetings and be able to attend occasional special meetings. During special projects, you may need to spend a little extra time on association business. Some board members may also spend a little more time than others if they chair or work with a committee. Can I make tough decisions when it’s required? The primary role of the board is to conduct the business of the association. This doesn’t just mean approving the budget, but also developing and enforcing policies. Board members are required to step outside their immediate circle of family and neighbors and make decisions based on the greater good of the community. Can I do all this and have fun, too? It isn’t all about policies and tough decisions. Our community is only as good as we make it and establishing and maintaining a sense of community is a part of a board member’s responsibility. Planning and attending functions such as our social events. Being a board member can be frustrating at times, but it may also be one of the most rewarding ways you’ll find to volunteer your

time. If you’re interested in running for the board or would like more details about board’s responsibilities, please contact me or visit the SRCA website. Do you have what it takes to be a good board member? Chances are - you do. If you have a mix of some of the following traits and skills, consider running for a seat on the board. We’d love to have you. Plus, it’s a great opportunity to become more familiar with your community, grow your relationships with neighbors and our staff, and experience everything offered at Scottsdale Ranch! Respect If you can give others respect and expect it in return, you can help keep board discussions civil, productive and on point. We’re looking for people who can lead by consensus, not by command. Good listening People want to be heard. Can you listen to board members and residents with sincere interest? You may have a few ideas of your own, but everyone benefits by sharing and discussing. The ideal board comprises a mix of management styles, professional skills and temperaments. Leaders can come from different places and backgrounds. There’s no one mode that fits all. Share your knowledge and passion with our community. There will be four open positions for the SRCA Board of Directors’ election in April 2021. If you have the time and desire to contribute, we encourage you to apply. We are looking for passionate residents who have it in their heart to volunteer their time for the betterment of Scottsdale Ranch. Board applications can be found on our website homepage at www.scottsdaleranch.org or in our office. Board applications are due no later than Monday, February 1, 2021. Candidates will be voted on by the membership and announced at the SRCA Annual Meeting which will be held on Thursday, April 15, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. at the SRCA Community Center. Visit our website for more detailed information about the SRCA Board of Directors or I’d be more than happy to meet with you and discuss.

Your HOA

President’s Message By Matt Metz SRCA Board President

I have to admit that like most of us, I find it easy to take Scottsdale Ranch for granted. When things run so smoothly, we don’t even notice the efforts of our staff and volunteers. Now, while still in the midst of a global pandemic, it’s even more important that we appreciate and say thanks to those who make our HOA the best place in the Valley to live. The Board of Directors, whom you elect, make the leadership decisions that keep us moving on the right course. The duties of these volunteer board positions are not trivial; the board members make the tough strategic decisions to ensure we continue to improve. Besides the seven board members, we have scores of volunteers who serve on various committees. These are your friends and neighbors who, among other things, decide on what social events will take place; ensure Lake Serena remains a great asset; review our financial statements; maintain and improve relationships with our sub-associations and local governments; and ensure that architectural and landscaping changes enhance our neighborhoods. But the day-to-day, operational decisions and efforts are made by our Executive Director and her staff. When residents, visitors, or prospective owners call in with questions, requests, and suggestions, it is our staff who deliver world-class service. Our able staff also handle the countless day-to-day administrative functions and decisions. That’s a lot of work when you remember that we are a community of nearly 4,000 homes, apartments, and condos, with over 8,000 people who live in them. In 2020, we accomplished a lot, including learning to deal with COVID-19. But let’s look forward, because next year, there’s even more to do. First and foremost, we will continue to put the health and safety of our members first. That means we will open up our Community Center and re-start our wonderful social events only when it’s safe to do so. We have a large dredging project for our nearly forty-year-old Lake Serena. Silt and organic “muck” (that’s a technical term!) are slowly filling the lake, and we need to make sure the lake remains healthy, sustainable, and navigable. We’re looking at improving the visibility of Scottsdale Ranch by upgrading our entry monument signs, and we are also considering replacing our street signs to ref lect our “brand.” We’ll continue the upgrades of common areas with new rock and removing some of our very old eucalyptus and olive trees. We are committed to constantly improving our members’ property values and quality of life. Your board, committees, Executive Director and staff all contribute to the goal of keeping Scottsdale Ranch the best place in the Valley to live. Let’s give a big shout of “THANK YOU” to all of them! 4

Home & Landscape

From Your Homeowner Liaison By Sonja Perez, CAAM, CMCA SRCA Homeowner Liaison

The Job of Community Compliance In my role as the Homeowner Liaison for Scottsdale Ranch Community Association (SRCA), I receive a lot of sympathy as my primary role is to perform compliance inspections and contact those that need a friendly reminder. It is not the easiest job, but, at the same time, it can be rewarding in the fact that I have a role in keeping the community looking good. On many occasions, I am able to assist residents with their issues within the community. I am no stranger to working with community associations as I have been in the HOA industry since 2004. My positions have changed over the years from administrative assistant to community portfolio manager to my current role. I have been with SRCA for almost five years and, can honestly say, I would not want to be anywhere else. For this article, I wanted to take the opportunity to review the compliance policy in Scottsdale Ranch and to provide a better understanding of the process.

I get a number of calls from residents stating there has been a violation on a property for weeks and they are wondering why I have not addressed it. The reason I don’t know about the issue is because I am not in one particular community every day or every week but will gladly address the issue if I am made aware of it. I also receive calls from residents who have received a violation notice and think that I am singling them out. Please understand that there are 3,939 homes in Scottsdale Ranch, and that does not leave time to single out a particular home. I can assure you I take my job very seriously and always treat everyone fairly and with the professionalism and respect they deserve.

The job of the Homeowner Liaison is a multi-faceted position doing property inspections, responding to matters regarding property and neighbor issues as well as common area landscape matters.

A common misconception is that I have the ability to make residents compliant. If a resident decides to ignore notices sent for a violation, then I have to rely on the compliance policy and ultimately legal action, if the issue is not cured. Like anything, there is a process and that process can take time without the cooperation of both parties.

There are 20 subdivisions, 19 sub-associations and the Mercado within Scottsdale Ranch. To define these terms; subdivisions are the communities that are only governed by the governing documents of SRCA and are made up of single-family homes. Sub-associations are communities that, in addition to being a part of SRCA, they also have their own governing documents and their own Boards of Directors. The sub-association communities are a mix of condominiums and cluster residential but also include La Privada and Morningside Apartments.

All violations are processed based on federal and state statute, the rules of the community, and the compliance policies. If you receive a compliance notice, you may notice the letter includes the date of the violation, who witnessed the violation, what the violation for the property is and what portion of the governing documents has been violated and a date for resolution. A picture will be included whenever possible.

All of these properties (3,939) are inspected on an on-going rotation. Some I will visit every three weeks while others might be every 4 – 6 weeks depending on the type of properties within that area and includes monthly inspections of Lake Serena’s waterfront properties. If there is an issue that arises with a particular property, I will not wait until the next inspection on the rotation but will investigate the matter as quickly as possible. For example, if there is an RV in a driveway that has exceeded the 24-hour rule for loading and unloading, if I receive a call or an email about it, I will go out and document the violation and address accordingly.

6

December 2020/January 2021

Please understand when notices are sent it is not personal, it is an effort to uphold the rules of the association that all residents make a commitment to abide by when they purchase a home in Scottsdale Ranch. To me, compliance is about education and encouragement to adhere to the rules. I am here to help, and I am always available to assist with any issue within my power. If you would like more details regarding the rules for SRCA or the compliance and fine polices, please review the SRCA Administrative Rules and Architectural Guidelines on our website at www.scottsdaleranch.org or contact me at the SRCA office.

From Your Architectural Liaison By Diane Botica SRCA Architectural Liaison

Architectural information and rule updates that you will want to know… The Architectural Committee is hard at work to keep Scottsdale Ranch cohesive and looking good. This is not as easy as it sounds with almost 4,000 residences and many styles of homes and communities. It is a demanding committee as the members go out into the community and review each submittal on the agenda. If you are intending to make an external change to your property, it is best to consult the Architectural Rules on the website as the web copy is always current. Just click the blue house on the front page that reads, “plan my project”. You will find the rules, checklists and paint color links you will need to submit with your application for approval of your project. Please see the highlighted areas below for the rule updates. ----------Awnings – An addition to the awning language and the updated rule was approved as follows. Exterior awnings, curtains, rollup screens, and roller shades 1. Fixed awnings should be a minimum of five (5) feet from any Party Wall; exceptions may be allowed on a case-by-case basis for Cluster Residential. 2. Retractable awnings should be a minimum of five (5) feet from any Party Wall when extended; exceptions may be allowed on a case-by-case basis for Cluster Residential. 3. Retractable awnings will be considered for rear or side yards only; exceptions may be considered for front courtyards on a case-by-case basis. 4. Exterior curtains will be considered for rear or side yards only. 5. Exterior roller shades and rollup screens will be considered for rear or side yards only; exceptions are retractable security shutters that mount f lush to the building. 6. In general, the shape, color, and material of exterior awnings, curtains, rollup screens, and roller shades must be compatible with the design characteristics of the residence and will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. 7. Only solid color awnings will be approved. ------------------Paint – An addition to the paint language and the updated rule was approved as follows. Exterior Colors 1. The exterior colors of all buildings and structures must adhere to the approved color palettes which are available at the SRCA administrative office or on the SRCA website. Color variances will not be approved. 2. Changes to the exterior colors of all buildings and structures must be approved by the Architectural Committee prior to the start of construction. Any member repainting their home must submit an application and apply for approval from SRCA, even if the same color is used. Contact SRCA with questions regarding the current

color of the home. 3. Paint selections must conform to the approved color palettes in place at the time of painting for your specific subdivision. Paint colors from old color palettes will not be grandfathered. All body and trim colors used on the residence must be from the same palette. Painting of brick and slump block trim on the house may be approved on a case-by-case basis and only if the brick or slump block trim will be painted the same color as the body of the house. Factory finished door colors will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. 4. All paint applications must be accompanied by a photo of the home with paint color locations to be denoted. -------------------------------Basketball Structures – The Basketball language has been rewritten. The updated rule was approved as follows. Basketball Structures All basketball equipment, to include support structure, backboard, and hoop, must receive Architectural Committee approval prior to installation. Applications will be evaluated based on location, set back measurements from all property lines, type of structure, paint/finish, height, and community aesthetics. There are (2) types of Basketball Structures that are permitted: Permanent and Portable. Backboards and hoops affixed directly to the house will not be considered. 1. Permanent Structures are deemed anything secured in place by concrete footing or other permanent foundation and is considered immobile. a. Permanent Structures are allowed in either the front yard or backyard of the property. b. If located in the front yard, please indicate how the pole will be secured into the existing hardscape. c. If located in the backyard, please provide the height of property fences. 2. Portable Structures are deemed anything that is not physically attached to the foundation and is mobile allowing for relocation. a. Portable Structures may be used in either the front yard or backyard of the property.. b. Despite being mobile, portable structures must remain in the member submitted and ARC approved location. c. Please identify where the portable structure will remain located d. If located in the backyard, please provide the height of property fences and/or common walls. All basketball structures must comply with the following: a. Must match the aesthetics of the community. b. Home & Landscape Winter is Here and Your Landscape is Grateful By Randy Zellers SDL, Director of Operations

With the Holidays upon us, it is a time to ref lect and be thankful we all made it through the extreme summer of 2020. The hot temperatures and lack of monsoon activity has caused dramatic changes in the landscape. Plants, trees and even cactus have suffered immensely, and the landscape probably has some empty areas due to the drastic summer. While you enjoy the cooler temperatures that winter brings us, now is the time to start evaluating your landscape design and start to plan to fill the empty spots the summer of 2020 caused.

Holiday Pontoon Boat Rides It has been decided by the SRCA Board of Directors and Management that we will not be offering any Holiday Pontoon Boat rides this year due to continued concerns over COVID-19. The reason being is that there is no way to social distance. Keeping all of our residents and staff safe is our number one priority. Lake Serena Recreational Rentals, Kayaks, a Paddle Boat or a Canoe, are available! Reservations are required. All equipment will be sanitized after each use.

You have already planted the f lower beds filled with Geraniums, Petunias and Snapdragons that will get you through the spring. Your rye grass lawn is lush green and will hang in until May. Now it is time to evaluate your trees, shrubs, cactus and accent plants. Trees provide cooling shade and add the most value to your landscape. Like real estate, trees are about location, location, location. Choosing the right tree for the right space is critical to allow them to grow naturally without constant pruning. Keep away from walls and roof lines and position the tree to provide the most shade to your home on the south and west exposures. Before purchasing, find out the mature height and width of the tree and place accordingly on your property. Shrubs add a mixture of colors and textures to the landscape and work best in groupings of three or five. Choose plants on blooming preferences and seasonal color to attempt showy blooms in your landscape year-round. Many of the newer species found in nurseries are from Australia and will bloom in the summer months when most desert adapted species shut down. Blue Emu is a solid choice to utilize in your palette and requires little to no trimming. Its grey foliage mixes well with any plant and provides blue blooms throughout the summer months. Cactus can add dramatic contrasts to your landscapes by grouping in mass or as a stand-alone Saguaro or Totem Pole cactus for vertical height. Be sure to keep cactus away from sidewalks or driveways to prevent harmful interactions with pedestrians and visitors. Accent plants like Agave and Aloe species bring a different texture and add color to the landscape. Both species are low maintenance and provide bountiful “pups” that can be relocated within your landscape. Hopefully, we will receive some winter rains and replenish of water tables for the coming year. During rains, be sure to turn off watering systems for a couple of days for every .25” of rain received. Predictions are for a warm and mild winter this year and the threat of frost may not be an issue. Just in case, it is best to have frost cloth available if you need to cover frost sensitive plants during the evenings. Many of the coldest nights occur during clear and cloudless skies, which allows warmer air to escape. Keep an eye on frost warnings and be ready to protect your plants if need be. Happy Holidays from SDL and may your 2021 be better than ever. 8

Mercado Spotlight Gabriella’s Contemporary American Cuisine While many restaurants were closing their doors whether temporarily, or for good, this year, Gabriella’s Contemporary American Cuisine went against the grain, to bring the Barr family’s distinct brand of upscale-yet-approachable cuisine to Scottsdale. Opening in late August, Gabriella’s serves artfully crafted cuisine for the whole family in a comfortable yet intimate dining space. Anthony and Anna Barr are anything but culinary newbies. The partners in business, and in life, recently moved their family to Scottsdale from San Francisco, where they still maintain two of the Bay Area’s largest and most successful corporate catering and event planning companies, Fork & Spoon Productions and Above & Beyond Catering. But with the onset of COVID-19 in March, they chose a new path and a fresh start in Scottsdale — and with that, Gabriella’s was born. The couple combined their experience and knowledge earned building their catering and events companies to build the restaurant’s menu, which features familiar-yet-elevated American cuisine designed to include a multitude of dishes, including options that accommodate special dietary needs and preferences such vegan and vegetarian. Executed with the passion and attention to detail of the highly trained Chef Anthony, menu standouts include appetizers such as the Stuffed Cheese and Bacon Tater Tots and Sweet Corn and Wild Mushroom Tamale; salads such as the Arugula and Frisée Salad, and the Field of Greens; sandwiches like the Short Rib Grilled Cheese with white cheddar on sourdough bread; Gabriella’s Crispy Chicken Bahn Mi with pickled vegetables, roasted

jalapeno and cilantro aioli; and Dungeness Crab and Lobster Roll; pastas and grains including Baked Creamy Pasta with baby scallops, and Pasta with Lemon Sage Marinated Grilled Chicken; and entrees from Grilled New York Steak with red wine demi to Seasonal Risotto with garden vegetables, black truff le and parmesan cheese. Gabriella’s also offers weekly specials such as Fried Chicken Fridays as well as a dedicated kids’ menu and of course, decadent dessert selections like Praline and Cream Crème Brulee and Hot Fudge Sundaes. The restaurant features a full bar boasting local brews, house wine, and specialty craft cocktails. Along with the decision to bring their passion of the plate to Scottsdale diners, Anthony and Anna Barr says, “We’re dedicated to creating memorable experiences through a welcoming atmosphere, spectacular service, and exceptional food.”

Happy 40th Anniversary Scottsdale Ranch!! Scottsdale Ranch was first developed in 1984 by Markland Properties, Inc. and Costain Arizona, Inc. As part of the city’s northeast growth plan, Scottsdale Ranch was first purchased in 1978, rezoned in 1979, the first homes were built in 1980, and ranges from one dwelling unit to acre lots, to multi-family units at 16 dwelling units to the acre. SR is located on 1,119 acres and houses a 42-acre, private lake that was developed jointly by Scottsdale Ranch, the City of Scottsdale, Maricopa County and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Lake Serena is part of the Indian Bend Green Belt System and serves as a control for run-off water from the McDowell Mountains. The water is generated from a groundwater well located on Scottsdale Ranch’s property. The unique existence of such a substantial body of water in the desert is why Scottsdale Ranch has been known as the “oasis in the desert” for 40 years now. Lake Serena provides countless hours of tranquility and enjoyment for its residents.

SR is a substantial real estate project that was designed to include housing and other living and recreational amenities and services within one scope. The purpose of our planned community and homeowners association is to provide a means to enhance the value of a property by developing a living environment superior to that which might be achieved by a less-structured means which includes: A choice of lifestyles: single-family homes, patio homes, townhouses, apartments, waterfront properties and condominiums. A choice of recreation: boating and fishing, biking and jogging, tennis and a variety of social activities. Comprised of 3,938 properties in over 40 different subdivision neighborhoods, this gorgeous lakeside community offers a lifestyle that is unmatched. We are so lucky to be a part of this beautiful community!

Boys & Girls Clubs Opens Leading Edge Makerspace in Scottsdale Ranch Virginia G. Piper Club In November, Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale opened its first STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) Makerspace Studio in the Virginia G. Piper clubhouse located within the Scottsdale Ranch neighborhood. A few months earlier, BGCS hired Dr. Donna Jagielski to fill the role of STEAM Educator/Makerspace Director to create and lead cutting edge programming as part of an initiative to spark interest in growing Arizona career fields. Dr. Jagielski has more than 12 years of experience in STEAMbased teaching and holds an education doctorate in Leadership and Innovation from Arizona State University. She most recently served as STEAM and Technology Integration Specialist for Maricopa Unified School District. “Donna is uniquely qualified to provide BGCS Club members programming and experiences that will expand upon what is taught in schools,” said Robyn Julien, BGCS President & CEO. “Arizona continues to be a projected leader in the growth of STEM and computing jobs, and we are committed to helping accelerate learning in these areas for our youth and teens.” The STEAM Makerspace Studio at the Virginia G. Piper Branch will serve as a blueprint for future spaces in the other seven Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale branch locations. Annually, upwards of 6,000 youth in kindergarten through 12th grade will experience programming and specialized activities devoted completely to creating and designing using 3D printers, laser engravers, electronics, robotics, circuitry, coding, and other STEAM-related equipment. “In these new STEAM Makerspace Studios, we will cultivate an environment that encourages Club members to collaborate, innovate, and create,” said Dr. Jagielski. “We will provide immediate and exciting connections to real world applications to take our kids and teens beyond what is taught in the K-12 education system.” BGCS has been actively bringing investors together for the new Ellie & Michael Ziegler STEAM Makerspace program, to build-out state-ofthe-art spaces with equipment and programming at each of its branch locations over the next three years. As community leaders and generous philanthropists, the Zieglers have invested $1.5 million in the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale STEAM initiative. 26

“These innovative spaces encourage collaborative thinking to address tomorrow’s challenges,” said Ellie Ziegler. “Michael and I sought to fund a forward-thinking environment where youth are empowered to compete in a global marketplace, ultimately becoming college and career-ready change agents for the 21st century.” This is not the first time the Zieglers have led the way in supporting youth and teens in the community. In 2012, they initiated the BGCS back to school shopping program to provide new clothes and shoes to youth and teens in need so that they could return to school with confidence, ready to learn. They continued funding, planning, and helping kids shop for six years, inspiring community support and volunteering that has helped to keep the annual shopping event going strong. In 2018, Ellie and Michael gave $1 million to complete safety and technical updates and a teen center refresh at the BGCS Vestar Branch in Desert Ridge. The Ellie & Michael Ziegler Teen Center at the Vestar Branch provides educational, leadership and healthy lifestyle programming as well as a safe place for more than 150 teens when school is out. “Ellie and Michael have impacted countless lives with their generosity and heart for helping youth and teens succeed,” said Julien. “They exemplify the leadership and passion for helping others we work to instill in our Club members. We are extremely grateful for everything they do for our kids and our community.” For more information about the STEAM Makerspace initiative or other Club programming, please call 480-344-5520 or visit www.bgcs.org.

‘Tis the Season By Brian Hartman, #866 Scottsdale Police Department Crime Prevention Officer, Via Linda District

As we enter the holiday season, the Scottsdale Police Department will likely see an increase in charity scams. It is very important to research the charity to which you want to donate your money. If you get a phone call from someone claiming to be from a charitable organization, you can simply ask for the charity website and a phone number to call after you have completed your online research of the company. A legitimate charity will be happy to provide you with this information and should not pressure you into donating money before giving you an opportunity to research the organization. Upon obtaining the contact information, be sure to follow up and research the organization online. Here are some appropriate websites in which to research charities: 1. give.org (Run by the Better business Bureau) 2. Charity Navigator 3. CharityWatch 4. Guidestar After the holiday season, scammers will often change their strategy and begin trying the IRS tax scam. The scammer may contact you and claim to be an IRS agent, for example. He/She may tell you that you owe money for back taxes and further advise that failure to pay immediately will result in your arrest. Oftentimes, the scammer will say that he/she requires payment via gift card or wire transfer. The scammer may also request your personal information, such as your social security number. There has been an increase in scammers attempting to contact victims via social media. ***The IRS is not going to initially contact you by phone, email, or social media. The IRS will send you a letter with a case number. A government agency will never ask for payment by gift card. As a general rule of thumb, if someone calls you and asks for payment by gift card or wire transfer, it is almost certainly a scam. Another sign of a scam is if you feel pressure to make a payment or donation immediately. Do not ever give out credit card information or personal information (Social Security Number) to an unsolicited caller. Be aware that scammers continuously change their Caller ID to make it appear that they are calling from a legitimate organization. The best place to report a scam is to the Federal Trade Commission on their website at FTC.gov/complaint. Pass this information on to a friend. You may not have gotten one of these calls, but the chances are you know someone who has.
