Welcome (Back) Janet Blackwell

SCOV and The Views Restaurant welcome Janet Blackwell as the new Restaurant Manager. Janet has worked at The Views Restaurant in the past along with her husband, Chef Paul Blackwell, who passed away in 2020. She taught courses in the Culinary Arts Program at Pima Community College such as Principles of Restaurant Operations, ServeSafe Sanitation and Safety, Catering and Nutrition. Ask her anything about vitamins; she has had extensive training from her work at Sprouts in the vitamin department. Janet and Paul owned and operated restaurants for 27 years. You may remember Café Tremolo, which was located at the Foothills Mall. They also ran the tearoom at Tohono Chul for 12 years, and don’t we all love prickly pear lemonade? Janet brings experience; she also brings enthusiasm and a drive to develop patron relationships and make the dining experience memorable. You’ll see it in the little details, a neat mini dish of sour cream with your quesadilla or in how the team operates. She pays attention to the bottom line, to the quality of food and the level of service provided to you, our patrons. Please welcome Janet to The Views Restaurant.

Bob Ressue, Bill Smith and Don Bong leading a Sun City Strummers ukulele practice

Thank you, thank you, thank you! Your extraordinary generosity is showing in an exceptional and record year of donations to your Foundation.

You should all feel so proud of yourselves for realizing how your caring is making SCOV and the surrounding community a better place for all of us. Donations to the Foundation help to fund the special items that clubs and organizations need.

An example of an unmet need was the Foundation grant awarded to the Sun City Strummers Ukulele Club, which provided a sound system for the club’s practices and concerts. This is the purpose of your Foundation.

With the increase in donations, your Foundation has resources available. If your club or organization has some unmet needs, please consider applying for a grant. The application can be found at: www.foundationscov.org.
