‘Model Railways?’ I hear you say ‘Surely that’s only for old folks in anoraks?’! NOT So! The local branch, to readers of this magazine, is the Newhaven & District Model Railway Club, and the range of activities and interests we offer, is more interesting than you may think.

All this can be found in a genuinely friendly, helpful, safe environment. We are a registered Charity, compliant with all the current necessary legislation, and are looking to enhance our role in the local community by expanding our numbers. Be part of something special, ‘Give it a Go!’ We can be contacted by email: newhavendmrc@gmail.com or phone the Club Secretary, Paul Strickland on 07715 993675.

Yes, most of us can legally have a pint, but Model Railway Clubs across the country for all ages and diversities, offer opportunities to improve or learn from scratch many great skill-sets. These include, but are not limited to, running locos and rolling stock, creating and enhancing scenery, buildings etc, team work on project construction, understanding and installing electric power for layouts, painting/airbrushing, track laying and much, much more.
