Performance comparison reports
As with many of the new updates from Bing, they are now able to include performance comparison visualisation to the web interface as a feature to help bring parity with Google Adwords. This feature, as with the Google Adwords version will allow advertisers to compare performance across different time ranges.

Google Trends Top Charts Google has recently released “Top Charts” which is an additional feature to their existing product called “Trends”. What makes this product unique is that it allows you to see the most sought for keywords terms (and what’s trending) by their category. The charts are easy to use and are great for quickly realising new keywords for research by a given vertical. Below are some examples
Features that I particularly like include:
Lightweight look and feel. Ability to see up to 20 keywords per category. Green and red movement indicators. Easy capability to share and embed on other platforms such as Google+, Twitter, Facebook or your own blog.
The main drawback is that it is only relevant to US search queries; however, Google says it will be applying this functionality to “More countries soon”. Hopefully the UK rolled out soon, however no dates have been provided.

Google to Replace 3rd party Cookies It has been reported this week by sources in USA that Google are looking to replace 3rd party cookies with a new AdID as the industry’s primary tool for tracking browser activity. While Google have not released any official statements or made any such plans public, this speculation concerning this anonymous identifier would gather information regarding user interests for advertisers in a similar fashion to the current cookie method. Whether or not these plans come to light in the near future or they are pure speculation, the industry as whole continues to look for a long term solution to enable highly targeted ad networks without the complications that 3rd party cookie provide.
