Search Lately: Issue 14 Weekly Search Round Up The main news this week is the launch of Google’s new dynamic search ad feature. We have also seen Steve Ballmer address the web 2.0 summit waxing lyrical about Bing and Yahoo continue to lose market share to rival search engines.
NEW: Google Launches Dynamic search ads 20 OCTOBER 2011 – Google launched a new feature for AdWords called Dynamic Search Ads. With Dynamic Search Ads, Google will index your site frequently for changes, take the keywords from your website, and generate a highly dynamic search ad based on search queries in Google that you don't have set up in AdWords.
Google will dynamically generate a headline based on what was searched on Google. This would be totally separate from your other campaigns and if a keyword was searched that you were already bidding it would not be eligible to show.
This feature is currently available in beta. http://searchengineland.com/google-intros-dynamic-search-ads-97793 POV: This feature could prove to be very useful in fast changing, heavily demanding verticals such as Retail where prices and availability of stock are always in constant flux. Appearing against new search queries which may not be in our accounts but are still relevant with targeted ad copy opens up new opportunities to gain those incremental conversions.
Yahoo-Bing Integration Complete Everywhere but Korea 20 OCTOBER 2011 – Yahoo has finished transitioning to a Bing back-end in every country except Korea. The near completion of the global transition should signal improved profitability for both Bing and Yahoo. http://searchenginewatch.com/article/2118908/Yahoo-Bing-Integration-CompleteEverywhere-but-Korea
