Mobile PPC Spend Increases By 98% Year On Year Covario have just released their quarterly report that highlights global paid search media spend. The stand out finding was that Mobile paid search spend has increased by 98% YoY. This brings Mobile (tablet and smartphones) spend up to 25% of all media spend for paid search. This increase is a convergence of both clients’ response to the uptake of Mobile and the default opt-in of these devices with the advent of Google’s Enhanced Campaigns over a year ago. Quarter on quarter data, suggested a marked improvement in the quality of the PPC traffic, with this increasing by 18% against an impression decrease of 15% (39% increase in Click through Rate), across all devices. Drilling down further, it could be seen that Baidu, Yandex, YBN and Naver have seen Cost per Click increase by up to 30%, with Google unchanged. The likely reason for the increase in CPC, is due to a heightened level of competition for decreasing premium desktop ad placements. More information by Search engine and region can be found at the link below. Shared By Jafar Mahir Follow the link for more details: http://bit.ly/1oFllIh

Present Adwords Format Improves CTR An Adobe ad study has shown that CTRs are up 20% over the last quarter alongside a CPC increase of 4%. This seems to be the impact of the present PPC ad listing format. Since Google removed the background colour from their paid listings, it would seem that more users are clicking on the ads which are less differentiated (now with a yellow ‘Ad’ sign). The study was conducted across over $2 billion in ad spend. The fact that CPCs have also increased suggests that there has also been more investment into Adwords. This should bode well for Google’s Q2 earnings call this week. Shared By Jasdeep Mondae Follow the link for more details: http://bit.ly/1t5o55R
