ISSUE 155 – 10th October 2014 Acxiom & SMG Agree European Partnership Acxiom, a leading data analytics service, announced earlier this week that they have signed a European-wide partnership with Starcom Mediavest Group (SMG). Bing Ads Makes Combined Tablet-Desktop Targeting Official Bing is following suit with Google to have combined targeting for Desktop and Tablet. As of last year, Google decided to roll out enhanced campaigns which meant that advertisers could not create bespoke campaigns targeting specific devices as campaigns created will target all devices. Many times in 2013 Bing resisted the move to do the same, claiming to be a point of differentiation. However in June 2014 Bing announced changes to device targeting. The combined targeting of desktop and tablet is to roll across the network immently.

Google (Now) Beats Siri and Cortana for Direct Answers A study conducted by Stone Temple Consulting which compared mobile answers to 3,086 queries on Siri, Google and Cortana to see how they performed relative to each other. Results showed that Google was the winner, generating a score of 88% for completed answers. Cortana was the least successful generating a score of 20%.
