Coca Cola’s Richands Bottling Facility is a multi-functional plant comprising multiple tanks in the syrup room, palletisers, depalletisers and packers, water treatment plant and refrigeration compressors. Sedgman Yeats provided planning approvals services and structural engineering for multiple projects throughout the facility including:

Arilla Aged Care required a new building to complement the existing retirement village of 150 independent living units and community facilities. The new building, a three level unit complex with 36 self-contained dwellings required quality finishes and planning, synonymous with a Stockland Retirement Living Project.

Queensland Nickel Warehouse Queensland Nickel / Minerology Townsville, Queensland This project involved the development of a new onsite warehouse facility at the Queensland Nickel Refinery in Townsville. The development principally consists of a 4,300m2 steel framed industrial building to be used for pallet storage. Sedgman Yeats was commissioned to provide concept design, detailed design and preparation of construction documentation, foundation design and documentation as well as technical support and certification during the construction phase. We overcame logistical challenges to complete the project ahead of a very tight schedule.

Sedgman Yeats provided concept design and design development, review and advice on geotechnical reports, as well as detailed design, preparation of construction documentation and certification and inspections for the new accommodation building.

Stuartholme School Boarding and Recreation Facility Stuartholme School Brisbane, Queensland Stuartholme, a private girls’ school, required a new building and indoor recreation facility including an in-ground 25 metre pool. Sedgman Yeats undertook project administration and the design and documentation of civil engineering works. This included the engineering services report, stormwater management plan, bulk earthworks, roads and driveway layouts, stormwater drainage, sedimentation and erosion control, and certification of works required by the local authority. We also undertook contract administration, site inspections and supervision of civil engineering and construction works, as well as preparation of tenders, reviews and recommendations. Structural engineering services included concept design, design development, building approval, tender and contract documentation and construction inspections.

The Welch Street development is a 47 storey mixed use tower development. The development consists of a five storey podium structure providing for retail space on the ground floor and educational facilities on the floors above. The tower structure above provides eight levels of student accommodation in the form of hotel type self-contained apartments. A recreational floor complete with swimming pool separates a further 32 storeys of residential one and two bedroom units. There is a four level basement which provides for carparking, plant and storage space.

Cobaki Estate is a 12,000 person master-planned residential and mixed-use community development adjacent to the Tugun Bypass (M1 Motorway). The development includes a village centre, residential precincts, community facilities and schools, open space, sporting facilities and environmental protection areas.

Sedgman Yeats was engaged to provide management, infrastructure assessment, geotechnical review and civil engineering design including bulk earthworks grading and design, and stormwater drainage design. We also provided structural engineering design including a reinforced concrete frame and post tensioned slabs.

As principal consultant for this project we completed the master planning, infrastructure planning, flood strategy and modelling, environmental advice, and civil and structural engineering work. Responsible for the majority of the engineering design work for internal and external infrastructure, our scope included a signalised highway intersection to Main Roads standards, a four lane arterial development access road, a four lane bridge and major water and sewer infrastructure works to service the estate.

Scenic Rise Estate The Sanctuary QM Properties Ormeau, Queensland The Sanctuary is a gated multi-unit development consisting of 41 two storey townhouses constructed in 21 individual blocks. The development included a central facilities area including a pool. Sedman Yeats was engaged to undertake the design and documentation of the structural components of the development including foundations and structural framing. We also provided technical support and certification during the construction phase of the project to ensure compliance with project documentation.

Gould Hill Unit Trust Beaudesert, Queensland Sedgman Yeats was involved through the development application process for this 211 lot subdivision project at Gould Hill Road. In the initial stages we undertook engineering infrastructure reporting and infrastructure agreement negotiations, as well as a flood impact assessment and stormwater management reporting. Following development approval we delivered the detailed engineering design, including a regional sewage pump station and rising main, trunk regional main infrastructure, a signalised intersection onto Mount Lindsay Highway to Main Roads standards, as well as all internal detailed engineering design.
