PROVIDING ESSENTIAL SITE ENVIRONMENTAL COMPLIANCE AND MONITORING SERVICES FOR CONSTRUCTION AND INDUSTRY
Site Environmental Management Services Sedgman Yeats is a multidisciplinary organisation, providing a no-nonsense, practical and common sense approach to site environmental management – our job is to remove obstacles, and make the process of environmental compliance simple. Our environmental specialists are uniquely positioned to understand our clients’ needs and tailor solutions with a focus on maintaining production or construction, providing cost efficiency, and forging a partnership with site management. Due to the complexity of changing legislation and the science and engineering required, site managers need rapid and focused responses to their needs, with the prime focus on managing environmental problems to maintain continuity of site operations. We understand that disruptions to timecritical works have far-reaching effects on our clients’ business. Having a specialist team with inside industry expertise allows our clients to do what they do best, while we work with local, State and Federal government bodies in maintaining and negotiating site compliance. We assist managers to develop their own site auditing and monitoring capabilities, with significant savings and opportunities to partner with projects in the overall site management process. Our collaborative approach has earned us a highly respected position in our field and has resulted in long-term alliances with existing clients. Our comprehensive management systems are certified to ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 4801 standards for quality, environment, and health and safety management, and we engage NATA accredited laboratories for all our testing.

Our experience Styx Coal Project
Horizon Shores Marina
Queensland Nickel Pty Ltd Styx Coal Basin, Queensland
Meridien Marinas Horizon Shores Woongoolba, Queensland
As part of the pre-feasibility stages for this proposed open cut coal mine in Central Queensland, Sedgman Yeats was engaged to undertake an environmental assessment program in this little-studied part of the Central Queensland coastal region. The program was developed, managed and delivered as a baseline report within the specified timeframes.
As the nominated Environmental Management Representative for the site, we provided ongoing advice and consultancy services for the marina during major development works to make it the largest marina in the southern hemisphere.
Follow up environmental studies were then initiated based on identified data gaps and long lead time components, including groundwater, surface water, air, noise, land, contaminated land, cultural heritage, aquatic and marine ecology, flora and fauna. Project management and implementation of the Styx Coal Project was controlled by Sedgman Yeats, including field work programs, sub-consultant management and client liaison, adapting the program to meet client requirements and expectations as the project developed.
Services undertaken by our staff on this project have included: Annual license compliance audits and 5-yearly energy use audits
