Man tries to smuggle 14 snakes and 10 lizards Customs officers in Norway were amazed to find 14 royal pythons and 10 albino leopard geckos taped to a man's body. The 22-year-old Norwegian was stopped in a routine check by customs after arriving on a ferry from Denmark. After finding a tarantula in the man's bag, customs officials decided to give him a full body search that revealed 14 snakes taped around his torso. When the man dropped his pants, officers found 10 lizards in cans taped to his legs. The man is in police custody! Woman passes driving theory test at 950th attempt! Cranberry Sauce Cranberry sauce is the perfect accompaniment to a traditional roast turkey dinner. And of course, no Christmas dinner table would be complete without it! Quick and easy to make, this cranberry sauce recipe can be prepared up to a week in advance as long as it is stored in a sealed container in the fridge.
Ingredients: - 120g superfine (caster) sugar - 500g cranberries (fresh or frozen) - 50ml port (or red wine if not available) - 1 cinnamon stick broken in ½ (or ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon) - Finely grated zest and juice of 1 orange
Method: If you are using frozen cranberries, allow them to defrost first.
Serves approx: 8-10 people Place the sugar into a saucepan and place over a medium heat until the sugar starts to turn brown around the edges. Add the cranberries to the pan followed by all remaining ingredients. Bring the sauce up to a simmer and cook until the cranberries have broken open and released their juice. Continue to simmer stirring occasionally until the desired consistency is achieved. Remove the saucepan from the heat and discard the cinnamon stick. Taste the sauce and add more sugar if it is needed.
Enjoy!
Each fact is more useless than the next...but even so, you will find them interesting, facinating or weird even. About 31% of all diamond purchases are made during the Christmas season. Most artificial Christmas trees are manufactured in Korea, Taiwan or Hong Kong. Frustrated at the lack of interest in his new toy invention, Charles Pajeau hired several midgets, dressed them in elf costumes, and had them play with "Tinker Toys" in a display window at a Chicago department store during the Christmas season in 1914. This publicity stunt made the construction toy an instant hit. A year later, over a million sets of Tinker Toys had been sold. Christmas trees are edible. Many parts of pines, spruces and firs can be eaten. According to a recent survey, seven out of 10 dogs in the UK get Christmas gifts from their owners.

free soap and shampoo. 5. They will even treat you like a customer, not a patient. An extra $5 worth of tips will have the entire staff scrambling to help you. About 2 years ago we were on a cruise through the western Mediterranean aboard a Princess liner. At dinner we noticed an elderly lady sitting alone along the rail of the grand stairway in the main dining room. I also noticed that all the staff, ships officers, waiters, busboys, etc., all seemed very familiar with this lady. I asked our waiter whom the lady was expecting to be told she owned the line, but he said he only knew that she had been on board for the last four cruises, back to back.
6. I will get to meet new people every 7 or 14 days. 7. TV broken? Light bulb need changing? Need to have the mattress replaced? No Problem! They will fix everything and apologize for your inconvenience. 8. Clean sheets and towels every day, and you don't even have to ask for them.
As we left the dining room one evening I caught her eye and stopped to say hello. We chatted and I said, "I understand you've been on this ship for the last four cruises". She replied, "Yes, that's true." I stated, "I don't understand?" She replied without a pause, "It's cheaper than a nursing home". Here's the proof: The average cost for a nursing home is $200 per day. I have checked on reservations at Princess and I can get a long term discount and senior discount price of $135 per day. That leaves $65 a day for: 1. Gratuities which will only be $10 per day. 2. I will have as many as 10 meals a day if I can waddle to the restaurant, or I can have room service (which means I can have breakfast in bed every day of the week). 3. Princess has as many as three swimming pools, a workout room, free washers and dryers, and shows every night. 4. They have free toothpaste and razors, and
9. If you fall in the nursing home and break a hip you are on Medicare. If you fall and break a hip on the Princess ship they will upgrade you to a suite for the rest of your life. Now hold on for the best! Do you want to see South America, the Panama Canal, Tahiti, Australia, New Zealand, Asia, or name where you want to go? Princess will have a ship ready to go. So don't look for me in a nursing home, just call shore to ship. P. S. And don't forget, when you die, they just dump you over the side at no charge.

Computer Memory Explained Very often, people get confused by the two different types of memory found in a computer. They are the RAM and the Hard Disk. The RAM (which stands for Random Access Memory) is very fast and it’s what the computer uses to work on files in real time. So, every time you switch on your computer, it loads the operating system into RAM so that it can operate quickly. Then, when you open a Word document for example, it loads that into RAM too. That way, when you are typing, changing fonts, sizes, styles, colours etc. your computer is able to do it quickly and dynamically.
You can think of RAM in terms of a person’s short-term memory. Right now, you know something. However, if you didn’t have long-term memory and someone asked you about that thing in a week’s time, you’d have forgotten. Using your long-term memory, that information gets stored and can be retrieved at a later date should you require it. That’s how it works with a hard disk. It stores your valuable information for later retrieval and use. The myths and the factsMyth: The more RAM you add to your computer, the faster it will run. Fact: If your computer does not have enough RAM, it will run more slowly than it could. This is because when it runs out of RAM, it starts swapping to the hard disk. The hard disk runs around 100 times slower than RAM, therefore everything slows down. As soon as your computer has enough RAM, it will run as fast as it can and if you add more RAM it will not make it faster. Myth: Deleting files from your computer will speed it up. In other words, putting too many files on your computer slows it down. Fact: Most hard disks are very large nowadays. To a certain extent, the above can be true, but only if your disk is completely full. It is recommended that you leave between 10% and 20% of your hard disk empty. If you have 10% or more of your disk empty, deleting more files will not speed up the computer.
The Hard Disk is where you store your files long term. Using RAM only, you would lose everything when you switch off the computer, since the RAM is cleared completely every time you switch the computer off and on. When you save a Word document for example, you are saving it to your hard disk. That means that the computer takes the contents of what you were working on (in RAM) and writes it to the hard disk so that it won’t be lost. Then, the next time you open the file, it reads it back from the hard disk and into the RAM for you to work on it again. When you save it, back it goes to the hard disk.
For recommendations on how much RAM or Hard Disk you need in your computer, to buy extra parts or upgrades, or simply for free, friendly advice, please contact us at ComputerNET on 952 49 49 13.
December - A wonderful opportunity to arrange a colourful flowering display of plants around your entrance, consider poinsettias, cyclamens, azaleas, violas, hyacinthus and kalanchoas. Be adventureous and add Buxus Semperviren (Suffruticosa) and Euphorbia Characias and finally splash out with solar lighting to really give the display a warm Christmas glow. Buxus Semperviren, Common Box, is a Mediterranean shrub which can be situated in full sun or part shade and is drought tolerant. this is a hardy evergreen shrub with green/white flowers in Spring. This plant is ideal for low hedging and when planning such garden designs . If a dwarf variety is needed then use the glossy green leaf Suffruticosa, brilliant for shaping and therefore well worth considering for your display.
Euphorbia Characias has been a favourite of mine for many years, the flower heads are perfect for adding to floral arrangements. This is a succulent evergreen perennial which prefers part shade and occasional summer watering. The narrow leaves are blue-green growing densely on the branches and even if your plant isn't flowering it is extremely worthy as a contrast to the other flowering plants. How about planting the plants into large decorative pots or at a time when we are all trying to save a little, buy tester size paints and give an old pot a new look. Make sure you fill pots and containers with a compost that is water retaining but also well drained. A little water absorbing gel added to the bottom third of the compost before planting is advisable. So have fun with your display, and be proud when your visitors call for their warm mince pies. Wishing you a Merry Christmas.
Rosie
Bright red is the common colour but there is the occasional orange specimens and more rarely some purple. A single female can brood up to 100,000 eggs. The Christmas Island Red Crab is this month’s amazing animal. At the start of the wet season (Oct to Nov), most adult Red Crabs suddenly begin a spectacular migration from the forest to the coast, to breed and release eggs into the sea. During the migration, the crabs cover the routes to the coast so densely that they can be seen from the air. Volunteers shovel the crabs off the roads and, although no harm is intended some inevitably get injured. 150 million Red Crabs make the annual mass migration to the sea to spawn. Ecologists describe it as 'One of the Wonders of the Natural World'.
If the spawning migration is delayed or disrupted, usually because of unfavourable weather conditions, both male and female crabs will remain on the terraces for the next month and complete the spawning one lunar month later. They are a big crab. An adult body shell (or carapace) may measure up to 116mm across. Christmas red crabs live in burrows, in order to shelter from the sun. Since they still breathe through gills, the possibility of drying out is a great danger for them. The rules of the Christmas Island Golf Club state that all players must treat the crabs as they would any other hazard. They cannot move them, and if a crab accidentally pushes your ball down one, then it’s counted as ‘in’.
CAPRICORN - After the excitement of November and the busy, hectic month of January you have coming up, December can be a quiet lull, like the calm before the storm. You will enjoy getting away, mixing with different cultures, trying an unusual routine, this kind of change will leave you feeling revitalised and refreshed. Helping a friend or relative out is second nature to you and nothing will be able to stop you from diving in, feet first. A break from career matters leaves you full of creative power for the New Year.
AQUARIUS - There are a few things going on that you can’t quite get your head round and you need to observe more closely, perhaps you missed the signs, or someone is behaving in an unpredictable fashion. Partners may seem distant, uncommunicative; perhaps they just need some time and space to sort things out. Why not let them know how you feel? Friends, networking and social activities are plenty and there is a lot of fun to be had attending various functions and gatherings. Your philanthropic qualities will come in handy mid month when someone may need your help.
PISCES - Support comes to you from behind the scenes when you least expect it and it becomes evident how many real friends you really do have. You may be surprised mid month how you can clearly solve the riddle to someone else’s problems even though many have tried to figure out a solution for months. Watch that spending, try not to get too carried away, or you will only worry about money later in the month. Focusing on your life direction with confidence allows you to become clear in your mind of the journey before you.
ARIES - A romance is picking up speed and gaining momentum with some adventurous and exciting times to be had around the 16th with your loved one. Friendships across the board have a fun filled feel to them this December and you may indulge in socialising rather more than usual. You could be questioning your career and asking yourself if it is really ‘you’, or perhaps you have outgrown a job and are seeking to broaden your horizons and learn new skills. Whichever it is, you will certainly be dreaming of a fresh start towards the New Year. TAURUS - The key to things moving forward in a positive way is to make sure your feet are on the ground, let common sense and practicalities prevail, then you can’t go wrong. This is usually easy for you but lately you have been a bit of a dreamer instead of taking steady action. This is a great time to make big decisions and there is likely to be many areas of your life that are under review. Take each topic one at a time and you will soon be on your way to brighter shores. Opportunities come when you least expect them particularly in the career field.
GEMINI - This is the month to put your foot down with a firm hand when it comes to other’s trying to tell you how things should be done, especially when you are the one with all the knowledge in a certain field. Make sure you express yourself clearly so that there are no misunderstandings. Try to see an obstacle as a challenge and you will win the day. By the end of December you are really in the party spirit and all obstacles and disagreements fade or are resolved leaving you to welcome in 2010 with zest, enthusiasm in a fun, loving mood. CANCER - It is good to talk this Christmas, from getting a problem off your chest, or airing a grievance, to discussing the way to bring about a major change, the answers, the solutions are all found in conversing. Perhaps you will have a deeper understanding of what you want from life and will put plans in place to make sure that you start 2010 on the right footing. The travel bug may get to you and you may be looking through holiday brochures, perhaps a break away from the normal routine, is just what the doctor ordered. LEO - It is all about relationships this month, a partner or love interest takes up most of your time and attention. Your romantic charm is high and you can sweet talk your way around any scenario. A friend from the past may turn up out of the blue or you could have a chance meeting,, this will bring back memories of some good times and leave you feeling quite nostalgic. A partner’s finances could increase and you will benefit because of this, it will allow doors to open that you thought were closed to you.
VIRGO - The beginning of December begins with romance on your mind and in your heart; someone shows you that extra bit of affection and means it. You are ready for a bit of adventure and are up for trying new things or adding more strings to your bow. Home and family bring many rewards and you will enjoy spending time with loved ones. Keep your eye open for work opportunities - you may hear of a good money making idea through the grapevine. Take the time to prepare for the New Year bash; it is a night you are likely to remember, for a long time.
LIBRA - This is a busy time for you, there are a lot of practical matters to attend to within the home and demanding routines can take their toll. Make sure you make some quiet time just for you; you need to relax so you can deal with the continuing pressure. It may feel as though you are being loaded up with more and more work and you are probably wondering how broad your shoulders are. There is light at the end of the tunnel though and things start to move forward towards the end of the month, there is a breakthrough that brings some light relief.
SCORPIO - You may be losing some interest in the way that you make money, perhaps there are some delays in development and progress. Home life is far more rewarding and you will enjoy socialising with family members and building on bonds. Romance heats up and you are in more than an amorous mood. Honesty is the best policy but perhaps it is best offered when you are asked for it – someone could be quite touchy and need careful handling. You may have an urge to be creative and want to re-decorate or experiment with colour. SAGITTARIUS - Venus is shining down on you this month and love opportunities abound, your charm is second to none, natural and endearing. This is a ripe time for the single Sagittarius to get out and about particularly mid month, so no excuses - get out there and mingle. There is a lot on your mind and you may be forgetful and misplace things as a result, always look at the first place you thought of twice, just in case. Christmas day finds you in a joyful festive spirit with your imagination soaring high. After all this action you may feel sleepy and just wish to relax for the New Year.
Honouring those who improve the species... by accidently removing themselves from it! She Talks Faster Than She Walks (30 May 2009, Louisiana) Back seat drivers beware! Annoyed at how slowly her boyfriend was driving, Tamera B, 22, encouraged him to pick up the pace so she could get to work on time. Joking that it would be faster to walk to work, she opened the door of the pickup and stuck her foot out before falling to her death. Deputies of the jurisdictional Sheriff's Office stated that the truck was traveling at highway speed on I-12 at the time of the incident. Her death was ruled accidental. Pierced! (January 2008, Pennsylvania) A 23-year-old man with various body piercings decided to have some fun at work. He wondered, "What it would feel like to connect the electronic control tester to my chest piercings?" Several coworkers tried to convince him that it was a bad idea to wire himself up to the electronic device, but he ignored their pleas. He proceeded to connect two alligator clips to his metal nipple piercings, one on each side, and hit the test button... His coworkers were still trying to revive him with CPR and rescue breathing when police and rescue personnel arrived. They were not successful. Clotheslined! (13 January 2008, Florida) Wearing only swim trunks and sneakers, a 37-year-old man raced his motorcycle toward the Manasota Key drawbridge. As the bridge began to open, it was clear that he intended to "shoot the gap." Bridge designers had anticipated such lunacy and invented the crossing guard. The closing gates swept him off his Suzuki, over the side of the bridge, into the water, and out of the gene pool. By a twist of fate the motorcycle continued up the ramp and made it across to the other side.

by Ann French of WeDoBling.com This month the focus is on scarves. Ancient Rome was one of the first origins of the scarf, which was not used to keep warm but to keep clean. It was used to wipe the sweat from the neck and face in the heat of the desert and was worn by men. Soon women started using the scarves and ever since the scarf has been a popular fashion accessory. The Scarf has come of Age..... this winter, discover gorgeous style with the WonderBoa©. The WonderBoa© is an amazing winter scarf that can be worn in many different ways due to its clever tube shape. It is made of a soft, feathery yarn, is 100% Polyester and comes in a array of colours. It can be transformed into different accessories, including a scarf, a hood, a shrug, a bolero, a boob tube, a skirt, a hat, a belt and more. They are lightweight and will keep you warm as well as looking great. And now the WonderWrap©, another truly versatile garment and it can be worn in a variety of ways ... wrap it, belt it, twist it. It has one sleeve and the rest of the length of fabric can be manipulated in any way you prefer: around your body, over your shoulders to create a cardigan, a cowl neck dress, a Grecian shawl; a wrap top or simply draped around the neck like a Pashmina. It is great over an evening dress or knotted with a simple t-shirt and jeans. These popular fashion accessories are very trendy and a must for your wardrobe. Visit www.gemsandtreasures.co.uk or see a range of jewellery, WonderBoas© and handbag hangers at Papeleria Martin, Alhaurin el Grande. See you next month….. Ann

The next pandemic I went to a dinner party last night, where I and other guests enjoyed copious amounts of alcohol. I awoke this morning not feeling well, with what could only be described as flu-like symptoms; headache, nausea, chills, sore eyes, etc. From the results of some initial testing, I have unfortunately tested positive for what experts are now calling Wine Flu. This debilitating condition is very serious and it appears this is not an isolated case. Reports are flooding in from all around the country of others diagnosed with Wine Flu. To anyone that starts to exhibit the aforementioned tell-tale signs, experts are recommending a cup of tea and a bit of a lie down. However, should your condition worsen, you
should immediately hire a DVD and take some Nurofen (Nurofen seems to be the only drug available that has been proven to help combat this unusual type of flu). Others are reporting a McDonald's Happy Meal can also help in some cases. If not, then further application of the original liquid, in similar quantities to the original dose, has been shown to do the trick. Wine Flu does not need to be life threatening and, if treated early, can be eradicated within a 24-48 hour period. NOTE: If you find you are complaining a lot, it may be that it has mutated into Whine Flu. This is particularly common in men and can quickly spread to their partners where the symptoms are detected as a serious case of eye-rolling. Sent in by David Jackson
On heat A little girl asks her mum, 'Mum, can I take the dog for a walk around the block?' Her mum replies 'No, because she is on heat.' 'What does that mean?' asked the child. 'Go and ask your father. I think he's in the garage.' The little girl goes out to the garage and says, 'Dad, can I take Lulu for a walk around the block? I asked Mum, but she said the dog was on the heat, and to come ask you.' He took a rag, soaked it in petrol, and scrubbed the dog's backside with it to disguise the scent, and said 'Ok, you can go now, but keep Lulu on the leash and only go one time around the block.' The little girl left and returned a few minutes later with no dog on the leash.. Surprised, Dad asked, 'Where's Lulu?' The little girl said, 'She ran out of petrol about halfway round the block, so another dog is pushing her home.' A male driver is pulled over by a cop and the following conversation takes place...
Man: What's the problem officer? Cop: You were going at least 75 in a 55 zone. Man: No sir, I was going 65. Wife: Oh Harry. You were going 80. (Man gives his wife a dirty look.) Cop: I'm also going to give you a ticket for your broken tail light. Man: Broken tail light? I didn't know about a broken tail light! Wife: Oh Harry, you've known about that tail light for weeks. (Man gives his wife a dirty look.) Cop: I'm also going to give you a citation for not wearing your seat belt. Man: Oh, I just took it off when you were walking up to the car. Wife: Oh Harry, you never wear your seat belt. Man: Shut your mouth, woman! Cop: Ma'am, does your husband always talk to you this way? Wife: No, only when he's drunk.
