He explained: "From the right, this guy comes dashing in, wearing this skin-tight rubber, black and gold suit, and starts chasing him away."

Real-Life Superhero Fights Crime In US City A real-life Superhero dressed in tights, a mask and a black and gold Lycra suit, says he is helping to make the streets of Seattle safer by scaring away criminals. The man, called Phoenix Jones, wears a bullet proof vest, and also has stab protection as well as being armed with a taser and tear gas. He says when he walks into an area, criminals leave because they see the suit and do not want to take him on. It is almost a case of Superman meets Batman as on most nights Phoenix walks into a comic store, enters a back room hidden behind shelves and is transformed into his character. He has already managed to stop a man breaking into a car and possibly stealing it. The would-be victim, known as Dan, was walking back to his vehicle in a car park when he saw a man with a metal strip trying to open his car. Dan said: "He started sticking it down between the window and the rubber strip." Dan began to call 911, but said help arrived before he even finished dialling.

Phoenix is not the only costume-clad crime-fighter in Seattle. There are eight other members of his Rain City Superhero group who also walk the streets, looking out for crime and prepared to fight it. Since Phoenix started his crusade nine months ago, he has been stabbed and was threatened with a gun several times, but received no serious injuries. Unfortunately, he did not find the man who was breaking into Dan's car.He told CBS: "When I walk into a neighbourhood, criminals leave because they see the suit. "I symbolise that the average person doesn't have to walk around and see bad things and do nothing." ( more on Phoenix next month ) Framingham women steals wrong car A Framingham woman admitted she stole a car, but she said she mistakenly took the wrong one, police said. Melissa Urban, 43, told police she thought she was stealing her boyfriend's car from the Chicken Bone on Waverly Street, not one that belonged to a stranger, police spokesman Lt. Ron Brandolini said. A man called police at 11:15 p.m. and told police someone stole his Subaru wagon. He said he'd left his keys in the car, reported Brandolini. Police put out an alert, and Officer Robert Lewis spotted the car on Western Avenue. Urban was driving, and she immediately admitted the theft. "She stated it was a mistake, that she took the wrong car," Brandolini said. "She said she wanted to steal her boyfriend's car." Urban told police she was on the way back to the Chicken Bone to return the car because she realized her mistake, Brandolini said. Police arrested Urban, of 39 Clark St., and charged her with larceny of a vehicle. She pleaded not guilty at her Framingham District Court arraignment. Judge Douglas Stoddart released her without bail. She was due back in court Dec. 3 for a pre-trial conference.

Reasons to be cheerful So here we are, 2011 has arrived and most of us are hoping that it’s a better year than 2010 was. So is there anything to be cheerful about, after all everything we read is doom and gloom! Well let’s take a look at what’s expected to happen over the coming year. Currency – With the European Union suffering more than most there are signs that the Pound will make a significant gain in the coming year The Foremost Currency Group who are experts on foreign exchange, tell me that they are predicting the Euro reaching 1.30 to the pound by the end of 2011 excellent news if your income is derived from the state and personal pensions in the UK. Property- Although as we are all aware, the property market has seen a huge decline over the past 3 years there are signs that the market may have bottomed out Steve Leaver from Crown leaf Properties tells me over the past 6 months, they are receiving 4 times as many enquiries as the same period in the previous year and with the pound getting stronger they expect interest to

continue to rise throughout 2011. Pension- Living in Spain, brings positive advantages. Residents that have lived outside the U.K in excess of 5 full tax years can take advantage of QROPS a far more flexible route for pension planning and can even en-cash the full fund if required, they can also offer greater tax efficiency and investment choices. QNUPS- Another form of pension, that can protect your assets against inheritance tax whilst providing full release of capital if required. Stock Markets- 2010 saw significant growth with most fund providers showing healthy returns, although this slowed towards the end of 2010. With most major economies now out of recession we are still wary of the possibility of a double dip as the austerity measures begin to bite, however the same could have been said about 2010 so let’s think positive. 2010 has not been a particularly good year for travellers, with the terrible disruption caused by the ash cloud, adverse weather conditions and European industrial action. We certainly hope that things will be easier during 2011. There are still a number of people who choose to travel without arranging Travel Insurance, or who do not completely understand why they should have it. Misunderstandings about the European Health Insurance Card are common. The Card covers public facilities only it is often not accepted in certain countries and it will not cover repatriation costs. We cannot emphasise the importance of disclosing pre-existing medical conditions and the growing need for screening in certain circumstances. Over the past year, Medical costs have increased by around 13%. Travellers generally have no idea what the actual cost of their treatment might be. A simple ear infection if likely to cost ÂŁ300 in Europe, a broken leg in USA ÂŁ24,000! Around 30% of skiers or snow boarders are likely to make a claim at some time. A quarter of them have suffered some sort on injury. Evacuation from the slopes, surgery and an air ambulance home can easily cost ÂŁ25,000 in Europe and four times as much in USA or Canada.

We give you a timely reminder to make sure the you do not travel without decent travel insurance cover and that your policy must be for the entire duration of your complete return trip from the date you leave Spain until the date you arrive back in Spain otherwise you will not be adequately protected in the event of a claim. If you have any questions about Travel Insurance in general or Globelink policies in particular, please send them by email to us at info@globelink.co.uk and we will do our best to provide the answers. Visit www.globelink.co.uk get a quote instantly and arrange cover securely online. Your travel insurance Policy and Emergency Assistance Card will be delivered to you immediately by email. Don`t get fooled this Valentine’s day. February is a busy time for email messages and hidden amongst some of those messages of love this time of year is a fair amount of spam. We have already seen an increase in email based virus and malware attacks. An email arrives with an attachment, the email appear to come from an admirer with titles like “I Love You Because”, “Sent with Love” and many more, These are just a number ways to trick you into opening a virus or Trojan file and infect your computer. Once opened the file takes control of your computer downloading files and in the really nasty cases captures the data you enter in forms and sends it back to the criminals that are stealing identities. Some rules to follow Only open email attachments that come from a trusted source, make sure your virus program is scanning your emails for Virus and Spyware. If you are not sure who an email is from, delete it without opening it. Be extremely wary of emails asking for confidential information; confirm suspicious requests before responding in email, look at the email address, I have my email program set for reading emails in plain text, often I have received a fake email that in HTML mode looks like it was sent from eBay asking me to confirm my details, in text mode it is very obvious that eBay don't use hotmail as their email server. Even with virus protection and spyware protection if you open a suspect attachment if could already be too late as in some cases a suspect files first job is to disable both the virus and spyware programme on your computer. Once these tools are disabled your personal information is fair game for the hacker. Should you be having problems contact me, I'll be more than glad to help. Ukraine Population: 45,888,000 Total Area: 603, 628km squared Languages: Russian, Tatar, Crimean Currency: Hryvnia Capital City: Kiev National Sport: Football Brief History: The first identifiable groups to populate what is now Ukraine were Cimmerians, Scythians, Sarmatians, and Goths, among other nomadic peoples who arrived throughout the first millennium B.C. These peoples were well known to colonists and traders in the ancient world, including Greeks and Romans, who established trading outposts that eventually became city-states. Slavic tribes occupied central and eastern Ukraine in the sixth century A.D. and played an important role in the establishment of Kiev. Situated on lucrative trade routes, Kiev quickly prospered as the centre of the powerful state of Kievan Rus. In the 11th century, Kievan Rus was, geographically, the largest state in

Europe. Christian missionaries, propagated the Christian faith and the Cyrillic alphabet. Kievan Rus Prince Volodymyr converted the Kievan nobility and most of the population to Christianity in 988. Conflict among the feudal lords led to decline in the 12th century. Mongol raiders razed Kiev in the 13th century. Most of the territory of what is modern Ukraine was annexed by Poland and Lithuania in the 14th century, but during that time, Ukrainians began to conceive of themselves as a distinct people, a feeling that survived subsequent partitioning by greater powers over the next centuries. Ukrainian peasants who fled the Polish effort to force them into servitude came to be known as Cossacks and earned a reputation for their fierce martial spirit and love of freedom. In 1667, Ukraine was partitioned between Poland and Russia. In 1793, when Poland was partitioned, much of modern-day Ukraine was integrated into the Russian Empire. When World War I and the Russian revolution shattered the Habsburg and Russian empires, Ukrainians declared independent statehood. In 1917 the Central Rada proclaimed Ukrainian autonomy and in 1918, following the Bolshevik seizure of power in Petrograd, the Ukrainian National Republic declared independence. In 1919, amid great fanfare, the Ukrainian People's Republic, united with the West Ukrainian People's Republic

(which was part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire) based in Lviv. This union of Ukraine's lands proved to be short lived as the West Ukrainian's Army lost the war against Polish expansionists, while the Kievbased Ukrainian Army was forced out of Ukraine by the Red Army. Soon after, Ukraine was officially incorporated into the Soviet Union. Under Stalin, rule Ukrain was atomized through totalitarian terror, involving massive purges, executions, and the exile of millions to the infamous labor camps of Siberia's "Gulag". During World War II, Kiev again was heavily damaged. For 72 days the city was defended by its citizens and Soviet troops against the Nazis. On September 19, 1941, Nazi troops entered Kiev. The Nazis also built two concentration camps for civilians and POW's near Kiev. During this period, over 200,000 people were killed and over 100,000 were deported to Germany for forced labour. Kiev was liberated on November 6,1943, by Soviet troops. Soon after celebrating the defeat of Hitler's Germany, Ukraine learned that "liberation" by the Soviet Army meant a different kind of dictatorship. The post war years in Kiev were marked by intensive restoration of the damage caused during the war. The city began to dress its wounds. Politically, however, new waves of Stalinist terror again tore at the Ukrainian social fabric, with more purges, executions, and mass exiles to the Gulag. As the worst features of the

Stalinist police state began to dissipate during Brezhnev's leadership, the Kremlin intensified its policy of "Russification", barring the Ukrainian language from government, education, courts and so on, pursuant to the theory that the "Soviet peoples" would become better unified if they adopted the Russian language and culture. The Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant accident of April 26,1986, brings back painful memories for all Ukrainians. This disaster caused tens of thousands of deaths and health related problems, and inflicted enormous ecological and economic damage. Chernobyl served to rock the Communist Party establishment with political fallout as the facts behind bureaucratic ineptitude, negligence, disregard for the ordinary citizens, and cover-up emerged and began to stir the minds of the people. On July 6, 1990, the legislature proclaimed Ukraine's sovereignty. In August 1991, a failed three-day military coup of the Kremlin's would-be dictators led to the Declaration of Independence by the Verhovna Rada (Parliament) on August 24. Following the Orange Revolution, on December 26, 2004, after two rounds of falsified elections, Viktor Yushchenko beat the Kremlinbacked candidate in the third round. Under Yushchenko, Ukraine finally became free from Moscow's 300-year domination.

I recently went out with her indoors, she wanted to go back to the Carihuela Carvery on Calle de la luna, Torremolinos. On our previous visit we had had a really good time and some excellent food and she wanted to try the ala carte menu. We were not disappointed, she had a home made fish cake in a spicy tomato sauce and I had the vegetable pakora with a yoghurt mint dip. We followed that with two succulent Irish sirloin steaks, served with a southern comfort and cream sauce, with fresh veg and potatoes. Then I had a flambĂŠ banana in a hot butterscotch sauce with ice cream and she had a fresh made pancake stuffed with fruit strawberry sauce ice cream drizzled with chocolate sauce. This was all washed down

with a very good Rioja, a truly exceptional evening in a beautiful setting where you can watch chef/owner Robert, cook your meal in his open plan kitchen, whilst enjoying some friendly banter with the host. All in all it Is highly recommended. We will call again to try the rest of the sauces to go with his steaks and to try the chicken, pork and fish dishes. He also has vegetarian options and caters for gluten free clients. It is well worth finding this hidden gem in Carihuela. To help you find him, see the map in the mag for directions or tel 664342858 for bookings he has also got a special menu for valentines day, perhaps we shall see you there.

Take a bow son! 25/01/11 FORMER Everton striker and Sky Sports football pundit Andy Gray has been given the red card following his comments about assistant referee Sian Massey. Sky Sports announced Gray was dismissed "in response to new evidence of unacceptable and offensive behaviour"following an "off-air incident that took place in December 2010", having been handed a warning following his comments about Massey. Sky Sports' managing director Barney Francis, who yesterday disciplined both Gray and Richard Keys for their comments, said he had "no hesitation" in summarily terminating Gray's contract. Gray, Sky's expert pundit for almost two decades in a long standing partnership with Keys, was originally suspended yesterday after a Sunday newspaper published a transcript of the pair criticising female match official Sian Massey during Wolverhampton Wanderers' match with Liverpool on Saturday. The pair discussed Massey's appointment for the game at Molineux on Saturday, speaking when they believed their microphones were switched off. They agreed that female officials "don't know the offside rule", with Keys adding: "I can guarantee you there'll be a big one today. Kenny [Dalglish] will go potty." Keys went to remark on the newspaper column by the West Ham United vice chair Karren Brady, saying: "The game's gone mad. See charming Karren Brady this morning complaining about sexism? Yeah. Do me a favour, love." Brady said the comments made her "blood boil" while the England captain Rio Ferdinand labelled them "prehistoric" Jamie Rednapp will be favourite to co host the show taking over Gray’s role, it remains to be seen as to whether Richard Key’s will follow Gray down the tunnel. Rednapp, a fans favourite and son of Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Rednapp is highly respected as a football pundit.

Punch Out! Tue, 25/01/2011 It's finally happened, the moment everyone's been waiting for. Someone has offered Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton, notoriously fame and money hungry celebrities that they are, the chance to face off in a ring, establishing once and for all which one is the most useless. Luckily, the only real cost for them here is their dignity, an almost valueless commodity that they both sold the majority of to the highest (nearest) bidder as soon as the clock struck 12 on their 18th birthday. Well, at some point after their 12th at any rate That's right, according to Radaronline, boxing promoter Damon Feldman of Hollywood Boxing Federation has said his organisation will donate the entire proceeds of the event to an anti-drug and alcohol charity if Paris and Lindsay agree to go for three, one-minute rounds with each other in the ring. Of course, they will also be paid for their time, a cool $500k each, which should keep them in whatever drug they're not taking these days for at least a week. According to Feldman: "This is a perfect way for the two ladies to give back," We can't wait. Please make this happen. How much more to make it a cage fight?

NEW BODY is a passive gym in Fuengirola where the machines does all the hard training for you while you are laying down and relaxed . NEW BODY is a huge success. In order to offer an even better service for people that need to lose weight, the owner Patricia Lee-Adolfsson has invested in a new machine DERMOSONIC. Dermosonic is like liposuction but without knives. A unique, non-surgical, non-invasive way of reshaping the body. It reduces cellulite, body fat and improves overall fitness by using ultrasound waves and massage-vacuum therapy. The ultrasound wave method penetrates underneath the skin, breaking down fibrosis and softening the fat deposits. And the vacuum therapy works with suction that gently lifts the skin, energizing the venous and lymphatic systems and thereby eliminating toxins. The suction and vibration also break down subcutaneous fat and water which are drained away by the body’s lymphatic system. Fibroblasts are stimulated which increase collagen and elastin production. The other machine in NEW BODY is called TEI system and it works with muscle stimulation and infrared heat. Just some of the benefits is that you strengthen your muscles and the infrared heat increases your metabolic activity and you will burn up to 13 % more fat with every degree that the temperature rises, until you reach 45 degrees. Mixing the 4 different treatments ultrasound waves, vacuum therapy, muscle stimulation and Infrared heat makes you get slimmer even quicker and NEW BODY is without doubt the most complete passive gym in Costa del Sol, and the results are without question, a success!.

Breast Cancer

Breast cancer is the most common form of cancer in women. The lifetime risk of developing breast cancer is one in nine. Each year there are approximately 41,000 new diagnoses. The incidence of breast cancer for men is on the increase too with approximately 300 new cases diagnosed yearly in the UK. It has been shown that early detection of breast cancer can improve the outcome. Survival rates from breast cancer have improved partly in recent years due to early presentation and from individuals being breast aware. What Is Breast Awareness? Breast awareness is a process of knowing what is normal for you and becoming familiar with the appearance of your breasts. It is about being aware of your breasts when carrying out daily activities such as washing and dressing. By looking and feeling and becoming more familiar with your breasts at different times you can become more breast aware. You do not have to examine your breasts in a particular way or at a particular time. Do what feels best for you and make breast awareness a normal part of caring for your body. 90% of cases of breast cancer are detected by women themselves or by their partners. By being breast aware and knowing what is normal for you will be able to detect any changes, should they happen. Follow the Breast Awareness Five Point Code: • Know what is normal for you • Look and feel • Know what changes to look for • Report any changes without delay • Attend for breast screening

The Normal Breast It is important to know what is normal to expect breasts to feel like and also how they can change throughout your lifetime. Before the menopause breasts feel different at different times of the month, as they are affected by the hormonal changes in the milk producing tissue. For some women their breasts may feel lumpy or tender before a period. After the menopause the breasts will not be affected by monthly hormonal changes and will feel less firm, softer and without lumps. If you have had a hysterectomy your breasts will usually show the same monthly changes until the time when your periods would have stopped Changes to Look Out For When looking at and feeling your breasts be aware of anything that is new for you or that is not normal for you. Look for any changes in the skin, any puckering or dimpling. Look and feel for any lumps or bumps, especially if different from the other breast. Be aware of any pain or discomfort in one breast that does not go away. Also be aware of any changes in your nipples; any discharge, bleeding or rash or any change in the position of your nipple. It is important to know what sort of changes to look out for, but it is equally important to report them to your doctor / Nurse without delay. They are many reasons for breasts to change and many of them are harmless, but they all need to be checked out. You will not be wasting anybody’s time and the earlier any problems are detected the easier the treatment is likely to be. Breast Screening Programme The risk of breast cancer increases with age. 80% of breast cancers occur in women over the age of 50. In Spain, women over the age of 50 are offered routine yearly mammograms to help detect breast changes at a very early stage. Women under the age of 50 are offered breast screening when the need arises. Though we believe that prevention and early detection is your best line of defense. Clinica Medicare

Honouring those who improve the species.... by accidently removing themselves from it! or almost! Pancake Pantry Thief 1992 Darwin Award Nominee Unconfirmed by Darwin (1992, Tennessee) Nashville's Pancake Pantry restaurant is well known throughout the music industry, not only for its great pancakes, but for its star-studded clientele as well. It is not uncommon for the Pantry's sidewalk to be littered with long lines of customers waiting for breakfast and the chance to see a famous country star dining there. The man involved in this story may linger longer in our memories than the average country singer's career. It seems one of the Pancake Pantry employees, noting how successful the place was, thought it would be a perfect place to rob. Early one morning, he climbed on the roof and reached the exhaust chute that hangs over the Pantry's large flat grill. Upon inspection, the perpetrator realized that he couldn't negotiate the tight passage fully dressed. He disrobed and slid down the exhaust chute naked. This was the last thing he ever did. Imagine the surprise of the opening crew for the restaurant that morning! As they prepared for the morning's breakfast, they were horrified to find a pair of legs dangling just inches from the griddle. What happened to our would-be villain? It seems that the chute was so tight, there was no room for error. As he slid down the chute, he slipped and caught his own arm under his chin, where he stuck. He died by suffocating himself. Fish Gag 1992 Darwin Awards Runner-Up Unconfirmed by Darwin (Zambia) A solo fishing expedition near Livingstone in Zambia turned into a tragedy when 28 year old Harris Simwaba was choked to death by a live fish which accidently slid and lodged itself into his throat. Simwaba hooked the fish from the Chungu River 16km east of Livingstone, the Zambian media reported. When he tried to bite the fish to death it slid down his throat. Simwaba tried to hook out the fish with a stick, but he pushed it further down his throat instead. Villagers going to their fields in the morning found his body sprawled on the ground with a stick dangling from his mouth. The fish came out when one of the villagers pulled the stick out of Simwaba's mouth."

Poisonous creatures of the Mediterranean The pine processionary caterpillar is the best known of all the processionaries. The insect is found in the warmer regions of southern Europe, the Near East, and North Africa. It is the habit of the caterpillars to move over the ground in long head-to-tail processions and to sting, with urticating hairs, anyone who attempts to touch them. This has brought these dangerous caterpillars to the attention of the public. It is also one of the most destructive of forest insects, capable of defoliating vast tracts of pines during its population surges. Sibling groups stay together throughout the larvae stage, often pupating side by side. The insect is active only during the colder times of the year, spending the warm summer months as a pupa buried in the ground. The moths begin to emerge from the soil in August and shortly thereafter mate and seek out pine trees where they place their eggs. Each female produces a single egg mass which it fastens to a needle of a suitable host trees. Egg masses contain up to 300 or so eggs and the caterpillars typically emerge from them four or more weeks after they are laid. The eggs are completely covered with scales that detach from the abdomen of the female. Despite their small size, the newly hatched caterpillars have remarkably strong mandibles and are able to penetrate the tough needles of the host from the start. Shelter Building The caterpillars are highly social. At first they are nomadic, spinning and abandoning a series of flimsy shelters constructed by enveloping a few needlesin silk but eventually they initiate the Construction of a permanent nest and settle down to become central place foragers. There are no definitive openings in the shelter that allow the caterpillars to enter and exit.Rather,The caterpillars force their way through the layers of the shelter as they move in and out. The frass that is produced as the caterpillars process their meals accumulates at the bottom of the shelter. Midwinter Foraging and Thermoregulation Colonies are active throughout the winter months, the caterpillars leave their nests soon after sunset

and travel to distant feeding sites located on the branches of the host tree. Here they feed overnight then return to the nest at dawn. In mid-winter the caterpillars forage on the coldest of nights and are able to travel, albeit very slowly, at sub-zero temperatures. The permanent nests are typically sited to to be warmed by sunlight. The caterpillars rest in the nest during the day and the elevated body temperatures they experience due to heating of the nest by the sun helps to efficiently digest the food they collect overnight. By March the caterpillars are fully grown. At this time the leave their nest, following each other in long, head to tail processionsand seek out pupation sites in the soil. Trail Marking and Processionary Behavior The caterpillars lay down a trail pheromone as they advance over the branches of the host tree. The caterpillars mark when the tips of their abdomens brush against the substrate. Although the caterpillars also secrete silk and mark their pathways with the material, silk serves to increase steadfastness on the smooth plant surfaces. Caterpillars can distinguish old from new trails. The caterpillars also differentiate between trails made by different numbers of caterpillars and follow preferentially those marked by the most caterpillars. Trail marking enables the caterpillars to aggregate at feeding sites and allows them to find their way back to nest after feeding. When they move over the branches, the caterpillars may move head to tail in small groups or they may move completely independently of others. In either case, they rely on the trail marker to find their way. While the caterpillars may form single file processions as the advance over the branches of the host tree in search of food, the most spectacular processions are formed when the caterpillars are fully grown and abandon the host tree in search of pupation sites. Over-the-ground processions of as many as three hundred caterpillars have been observed. The caterpillars may travel long distances from the natal tree looking for soft soil in which they bury themselves and form their cocoons. WARNING ‘TOXIC’- Anti-Predator Defense These caterpillars are highly dangerous. Contact with the hairs causes skin rashes and eye irritations even when it is dead. The hairs can be carried in the air so can cause respiratory problems. Susceptible individuals may also develop an allergic response to a protein associated with the hairs of the caterpillar. Causing Urticaria (severe swelling and itching) Localized pain and in the old and young possible anaphylactic shock which can be fatal. Cats & dogs are also at risk of death if they come into contact with them immediate Vetinary treatment is essential.

Don’t forget you can always catch one of the Heart fm Team on Facebook, via MSN or email on presenters@heartfmspain.com You can get us on the internet at www.heartfmspain.com where-ever you are in the world or text us on 637898689 Chat again soon but in the meantime Heartfm Spain is pumping on a Radio near you. A new frequency 88.5 fm on the Coast from Calahonda to Sotogrande and up as far as Ojen so now when you take a drive to the beach and Marbella you can still enjoy the sound of Heart fm Spain on your radio. We hope to continue bringing the best radio to the rest of Andalucia however, we have had problems with 95.7, as regular listeners will know, and we are now relying on our other inland frequency 96.1 which is booming out. We have new programmes for you to enjoy, the excellent Route 66 Sunday morning show featuring some of the greatest long lost classic Rock n Roll songs ever recorded. Also on Sundays we have “Chatting with Lee” a series which continues with some really fantastic interviews, including Artists as diverse as Russell Grant and Holly Johnson. If you have missed any of the interviews first time around you can hear them again on the Heartfm Channel on Youtube. New Music to watch out for…….Bryan Ferry’s is back big time with a wonderfully smooth album entitled Alphaville. Whilst being reminiscent of such tracks as “Slave to Love” the whole album is a bit of a musical journey through to where the illusive Mr Ferry is now. An Artist we have been very excited about is a lady called Scarlette Fever, Pete, the Heart fm Breakfast Club man has had her as his Artist of the week, playing tracks from an advanced copy of her new album. I caught up with her whilst she was in rehearsals for an up and coming UK tour and was lucky enough to drag her away for a chat. Scarlette’s influences are as diverse as Dusty Springfield and the Motown greats, to some of the more recent indie acts. She draws on all of these influences in her debut album which we would strongly recommend. Her “soon to be released” first single Crash and Burn leans more to the rock-side of her character and yet, still shows the soulful elements of Scarlettes voice – Watch out for this lady during 2011 Talking of Scarlet’s well they’re back, the ladies who appeared in Marbella last summer at the X Factor show have released a new single Messed Up it’s now out and available from their Web Site – Well done girls

Capricorn 22nd December – 20th January The Magician, For you, Capricorn, to re-establish the emotional harmony that you usually enjoy in a certain relationship, a bit of work for change on your part is required. Intensive analysis of the situation, coupled with stating clearly the changes you require in the dynamic, will perform the transformative magic you require. Establishing a more equitable balance of give and take is necessary. Victory will be yours. Aquarius 21st January – 18th February The Tower, Well, something's going to come tumbling down this month and it's with a relationship close to hearth and home for you. This radical change of circumstances will come as some surprise; it will require you to do some pretty smart juggling if you are to attain once more the serene security you so need, in order to function well in life. Family will come to your aid. Stay strong and be prepared to walk away from any relationship that has ceased to hold enrichment for you. . Pisces 19th February. – 20th March Two of Cups You take a risk on a partnership this month, Pisces. It could as well be a friendship as a more intimate relationship. There will be considerable obstacles put in your way concerning this association, mainly from others close to you. The outcome, however, will be very positive. A happier home life and a happier, more secure you. Aries 21ST March – 20th April. Eight of Cups, An old relationship has lost its charm for you, and you are about to walk away from it. You leave much behind as you make this move, but your heart tells you that what you do leave with is enough. In fact, less is better when your personal freedom is at stake, if you were to hold onto that past. Greater contentment and new beginnings await you. Taurus 21st April – 21st May Eight of Swords, There's something about your emotional life this month, Taurus, that has you feeling bound and restricted. You are living a life that is not in accord with your inner being. Your creative and spiritual yearnings are stifled and yet financial issues make you afraid to make any changes. Rely on your own initiative to make much-needed changes. There is relief, and relief ahead, for those who assert courage. Gemini 22nd May – June 21st The Sun, This is a time of blooming new growth and personal renewal. OK, some aspects of what's going on in your emotional life don't seem to be living up to that fine sunny interpretation, because someone you've been closely bound to is trying every which way to take from you all your assets. They won't get away with it. A karmic time for Gemini, which throws you back on your own resources. How else could destiny show you your own ingenuity and strength as an individual. Cancer 22nd June – 22nd July Queen of Pentacles, A contented Crab in February! You've worked hard on your home and on harmony within it. There is a feeling of material security adding to your tranquillity. After a time of loving attention to hearth and home, the world at large will soon be calling you to re-emerge. Part of you will miss the seclusion of February, while new partnerships or friendships will bring some of your heartfelt hopes into reality. Leo 23rd July – 23rd August The High Priestess A time for quiet meditation for you, Leo. Home and family around you will prove tonic. You'll find yourself investigating your spiritual beliefs; the development of intuitive wisdom of greater depth will be the fruits of this time. Attention to the healing of any relationship issues will also prove fruitful, allowing you greater inner peace.

Virgo 24th August – 22nd September Six of Wands, You hope for a victory where relationship issues are concerned. For some of you it will be the victory of getting a certain someone into your life. For the few others it will be about winning , or scoring a point in an existing relationship that is in strife. Whichever way it goes, you will be involved in formalising the outcome in whichever way your culture deems appropriate. Libra 23rd September – 22rd October The Hierophant Libra, your home and family life has been rather burdensome lately. Just when you feel you must ask certain others around you to take more responsibility for themselves, yet another demand is made of you. You will find it necessary to seek advice from a legal or accounting expert, in order to hold on to what is rightfully yours. Steady strength and calm will see you through this spell. Scorpio 23rd October - 22nd November Justice Fights and squabbles around you, Scorpio, might well require approach to legal arbitration to overcome. You hold much fear in your heart concerning current issues. You do find yourself required to take on further burdens, but ultimately greater peace will be yours. Sagittarius 23rd November - 22nd December The Hermit, Well Sag., you're pretty much on your own emotionally this month, aren't you. Even those who are in a relationship are feeling very withdrawn. There's been some less than fair behaviour in your recent past, especially concerning matters material and the only way you feel safe to lick your wounds is within that state of secluded withdrawal. Other family matters also demand your attention, and just when you think those matters safely sorted, they fall down in a heap. Meditate, rather than act out your frustrations.

Wise Old Jewish Man A female CNN journalist heard about a very old Jewish man who had been going to the Western Wall to pray, twice a day, every day, for a long, long time. So she went to check it out. She went to the Western Wall and there he was, walking slowly up to the holy site. She watched him pray and after about 45 minutes, when he turned to leave, using a cane and moving very slowly, she approached him for an interview. "Pardon me, sir, I'm Rebecca Smith from CNN. What's your name? "Morris Feinberg," he replied. "Sir, how long have you been coming to the Western Wall and praying?" "For about 60 years." "60 years! That's amazing! What do you pray for? "I pray for peace between the Christians, Jews and the Muslims." "I pray for all the wars and all the hatred to stop."

"I pray for all our children to grow up safely as responsible adults, and to love their fellow man." "How do you feel after doing this for 60 years?" "Like I'm talking to a flipping wall A Liverpool Love Story A young woman in Liverpool was so depressed that she decided to end her life by throwing herself into the Mersey. She went down to the docks and was about to leap into the freezing water when a handsome young sailor saw her tottering on the edge of the pier, crying. He took pity on her and said, "Look, you have so much to live for. I'm off to America in the morning, and if you like, I can stow you away on my ship. I'll take good care of you and bring you food every day."

Moving closer, he slipped his arm round her shoulder and added, "I'll keep you happy, and you'll keep me happy." The girl nodded yes, after all, what did she have to lose? Perhaps a fresh start in America would give her life new meaning. That night, the sailor brought her aboard and hid her in a lifeboat.

Housework is a woman's job, But one evening, Janice arrived home from work to find the children bathed, one load of laundry in the washer and another in the dryer Dinner was on the stove, and the table set. She was astonished! It turns out that Chuck had read an article that said’ 'Wives who work full-time and had to do their own housework were too tired to have sex'.

From then on, every night he brought her three sandwiches and a piece of fruit, and they made passionate love until dawn.

The night went very well.

Two weeks later, during a routine inspection, she was discovered by the captain...

The next day, Janice told her Red Hat friends all about it.

"What are you doing here?" the captain asked.

'We had a great dinner. Chuck even cleaned up the kitchen.

"I have an arrangement with one of the sailors," she explained.

He helped the kids do their homework,

"I get food and a trip to America, and he's screwing me."

folded all the laundry and put it away. I really enjoyed the evening.'

"He certainly is," the captain said. "This is the Birkenhead Ferry.

'But what about afterward?' asked her friends. 'Oh, that.......... Chuck was too tired.'
