Note From The Editors “Noting all of the Keys this Month”
Winter Break Is Almost here!
Can you believe that 2015 is almost over? Time flies by so quickly!
Now that the Holiday Festivities are underway, Key Club is in full swing with future events and volunteering opportunities. Keep in mind that each member should have gathered at least 25 hours of volunteer service by the end of the school year. Also, since the Key Club Executive Board Elections for the 2016-2017 school year are coming up next month (January!), keep in mind that we are looking for dedicated members that can help maintain and improve the PHHS Key Club activities and events. That being said, read on to discover what each position entails and see what may be the right fit for you! Happy Holidays!
Yours in Caring and Service,

Election Time! The Key Club year has just about reached that point where club elections decide who will be next year’s board members! Within our own little club, executive board elections will take place on January 29th— but the fun starts even earlier than that! We hoped everyone attended the general meeting on December 8th to hear about election information, but if you missed it, here is a quick run-through: On January 12th, election sign-up forms will be distributed to any Key Clubbers interested in running for a position. The form will ask questions such as why you joined Key Club and why you feel qualified to run for the desired position. You will have one week to answer the questions and return the form to D-25 by January 19th. You will only be eligible to run if you have completed at least 10 hours of
service by January 12th. This amount includes the time spent attending the general meetings.
On election day, January 29th, you will be required to give a 1-minute speech to support your platform as a candidate. Members will then vote and you just may become a new board member! Be aware that being an executive board member is a huge commitment. You will be expected to attend all executive and general meetings (every Tuesday) and meet all your officer duties (see next two pages for descriptions). You will also be required to attend District Convention and Fall Rally. However, being an executive board member is a great experience too! If you love our Key Club and want to become more involved in what goes on here and district-wide, executive board is the perfect place for you. Not only can you become more responsible and informed, you can also grow as a person. So think about it! We can’t wait to welcome you into the executive board!
