Note From The Editors “Noting all of the Keys this Month”
Hello PHHS Key Clubbers!!!
2016 is finally here! On the road ahead you’ll find lots of new events,
which we will highlight for you here in this short-and-sweet issue. Coming up are the club elections, and once those are through, the year will fly by! Soon after we elect the new officers (results will be in the next issue!), get ready to face annual projects like the Valentine’s Day candy collection and the Dinner Theater. Read on to learn more!
Yours in Caring and Service,
Sharon Christian and Tara Srinivasan This month, Key Club International officially welcomed our newest nation: Japan! Key Club is now in 37 countries around the globe. On the cover: Our current 2015-2016 executive board at DCON 2015, excited to begin serving this club! coming up… Valentine’s Day Candy Collection For every Valentine’s Day, Key Club packs candy bags for each PHHS staff member. Giving thanks is one of the most important things Key Club can do, so start listening for updates at the general meetings regarding deadlines and afterschool packing dates! To show support and appreciation for these wonderful employees, donate candy to create wonderful gift bags.
Dinner Theater In the middle of March, we will be hosting the annual Senior Dinner Theater in the cafeteria. The event will be free for all senior citizens. Not only will they be served a warm dinner and delicious desserts, but they also will be the first to see the spring drama production Legally Blonde. Over the years, the dinner theater has been highly anticipated, and is an enjoyable evening for both the senior citizens and the Key Clubbers! Want to help out? Stay posted for more info!

DCON 2016 By far one of the most anticipated events of the year, District Convention 2016 will be held the weekend of April 1st. But what is DCON? For those of you who don’t know, it’s a three-day celebration of service and the New Jersey District, as well as a great opportunity to learn more about Kiwanis with fellow NJ Key Clubbers across the district and to take part in electing the new district board! There’s a ton of informative workshops for every officer and general member, inspirational speeches from some VIPs, contests, award ceremonies, and caucuses— all at a beautiful hotel center along the Jersey shore. Last year, DCON featured an iconic Harry Potter theme— “The Magic of Service”— but this year is just as exciting: It’s a 007-esque “License to Serve”! Sound fun already? Start thinking about packing your bags! As a side note, members who sold Yankee Candles will be given a discount. More information will be given in the general meetings in February and March.
