Bateman Key Club While the leaves of autumn have finally begun to settle, and the vibrant colors of fall are all but gone, we at Bateman Key Club are still hard at work! The Club recently finished two massive projects: Halloween for Hunger and Operation Christmas Child. The two projects were both a huge success; our members collected a large number of non-perishable food items for the Abbotsford food bank and the combined efforts of all the students at Robert Bateman helped raise a grand total of a 131 boxes for OCC. During the month of November, Bateman Key Clubbers also participated in the DCM at Mill Lake and raised $200 through bottle drives to help with Philippine Relief. The Canadian Government will match our donation. In the last week of November, we hosted a party for all of our members. Together, we watched a slide show of our many accomplishments thus far and ate some food. I hope our Key Clubbers are excited to know that we’ll be receiving our official shirts soon! Bateman Key Club will continue to persevere throughout the course of the year and we would like to wish our fellow members from other schools a “season’s greeting” from all of us at Robert Bateman Secondary School. -Anthony Miyagi

Yale Key Club Yale Secondary’s Kiwanis Club members were very active in the month of November. To start off the month, multiple members visited the legacy building to volunteer for the Harvest Dance. The Harvest Dance is a dance organized for adults with mental disabilities. All members were busy flipping burgers, handing out drinks, and dancing. We were happy to see a lot of smiling faces that night, and we were fortunate enough to make new friends. Yale’s Key Club continues to recycle every second Tuesday, and the money raised from November 19th’s recycling was donated towards a group fundraising for the Cyrus Center. The group is planning on preparing approximately 20 care packages and providing lunch for the homeless youth in December. Additionally, a couple of our members volunteered at Matthew’s House to direct parking! Finally, during one of our weekly lunchtime meetings, all members gathered to pack small gifts for Operation Christmas Child. We have donated 23 boxes. Yale’s members have gathered change for the UNICEF Boxes, and are also continuing to sell chocolate bars for Key Leader in April. And last but not least, congratulations to James Chooi for member of the month! James is very dedicated and passionate about volunteering. -Rachel Lee

Abby Key Club Hey guys! The Abbotsford Senior Key Club had a productive month of November. This month, we wrapped up Operation Christmas Child at our school. In addition to OCC, our club has been involved in the Angel Tree and have started raising awareness for women’s rights. We are doing this by making and selling bracelets throughout our school and community. Production is yet to start but is projected to be great! With the funds we have accumulated, we are planning to donate our excess funds to a local charity. Additionally, we have chosen our member-made T-shirt design. We have some great ideas for December so stay tuned -Pranav Arya

S.O.H.L Key Club Sohl Key Club has continued to have great success in fundraising for Eliminate! We ran a Teachers Beep Test and got a great audience. The teachers were competitive and brought in even more students. We have one more project planned for December and hopefully we will reach our clubs goal of $300. We are going to have our school's student body guess how many gumballs are in a jar with entry being 25 cents each. We cannot wait to see the results! We also helped our local Kiwanis Club with their Children Christmas Party. We helped buy and wrap presents, and participated at party itself. We had great fun this month! -Mackenzie Ives

Garibaldi Key Club For the last few weeks, Garibaldi Key Club members have been working hard in conjunction with the Golden Ears Kiwanis Club in order to organize a Christmas party for the less fortunate families during the Christmas season. This is expected to be a huge event for our Key Club and something to definitely look forward to this coming 14th. Also, as a club we are currently doing a Christmas collection, collecting clothes, blankets, food, toys and donations for the holiday and winter seasons! At the same time our club has been serving hot chocolate to our school, and been promoting raising money for a well; a task we have taken on for the new year! Overall, the Christmas season has been good to our club, in promoting what Key Club stands for. Definitely look forward to the 2014 year ahead. -Nick Nichols
