We did the Drive Away Hunger food drive in conjunction with Farm Credit Corp. and raised 904 pounds of food for the Abbotsford Food Bank. In November, we are doing PETvember, which means we are collecting food, toys, and other pet-related stuff for the animals of SAINT, a society in Mission that rescues abused and neglected pets. Bateman Key Club This month has been a busy month for our key clubbers at Bateman. Currently we are taking on two big projects: Halloween for hunger and Operation Christmas Child. Also our members have been involved with key Club outside the school level by attending DCMs every month. With bottle drives, bake sales and more, we have raised money to give to the children of the global world. With the club t-shirts on the way, our club is excited to continue the great journey throughout the year. -Yujin Song
Yale Key Club October was a productive month for the members of Kiwanis Club at Yale Secondary. To begin with, we were all very excited to design a new t-shirt for this year! Additionally, we focused on educating the Key Club members on the district project (Eliminate Project), as well as Mental Health Awareness Week. On October 26th, 2013 Yale Secondary‘s Leadership class organized an event called Run for Rest at Mill Lake. All the money raised would go towards Matthew‘s House, which is a respite care home for children living with complex healthcare needs. Several members registered and walked and/or jogged in support of this event. Also, many members were utilizing their entrepreneurial skills to sell chocolate bars for Key Leader that will be taking place in April, as well as collecting coins for the ‗Trick or Treat for UNICEF‘ boxes. This program assists in helping UNICEF provide medicine, better nutrition, safe water, education, emergency relief and other support to children in more than 150 countries. Lastly, congratulations to Kourtnie Sohl for being October‘s member of the month! Kourtnie has contributed hours and hours of volunteering this month, and has taken great part in planning the Run for Rest. Yale Secondary Key Club is looking forward to another productive month featuring the Shoe Boxes, Angel Tree, and more. -Rachel

Abby Key Club Hello all! The Abby Senior Key Club was very productive during the month of October. To kick-off the month, our club went to the ARC skating rink for our monthly hangout. We all had lots of fun and we hope to increase our attendance. Also, we started off Operation Christmas Child at our school. We have begun distribution among our club and will soon spread boxes throughout the school. Our main focus for the month however, was our annual Halloween Bake Sale! As per usual, it was the boys against the girls. The girls had quantity but the boys, surprisingly, had quality. I decided to call it a tie so that everyone would win. (Cheesy yes, but effective) We raised over $200 for Kiwanis Children‘s Cancer Program with B.C. Children‘s Hospital in Vancouver. Have a fun November! -Pranav Arya
S.O.H.L Key Club Sohl Key Club at GW Graham has begun the year with a bang. We held two different fundraisers for Eliminate. First off, we sold jell-o cups, and we offered the chance to win a coupon as a prize. This fundraiser made about $72! We also had a bake sale on Halloween to bring in some more. We are going to continue to focus on Eliminate with the possible idea of having the teachers at our school running the Beep Test and have the students donate for admission to watch. All proceeds will go to Eliminate. Our club has plans to help shop, wrap presents, and volunteer for Kiwanis Children's Christmas Party at the end of the month. We hope that this month is just as successful as October. -Mackenzie Ives
Garibaldi Key Club The Year has been great so far. The club has really developed in a lot of ways, and a lot has been learned on all behalf's. Thanks to a club visit by Shirley, a lot of our members are knowledgeable about project Eliminate, and are aspiring to work towards a club goal for it. On another note, our club is working on a new clothe and toy drive for the upcoming cold season, and are selling hot chocolate drinks every morning for the next couple months. furthermore, we are working with a teacher in our school, and our local Kiwanis club to organize a Christmas hamper for some less fortunate families. As it sits right now, we have a lot on our plates, and look forward for the months to come
-Nick Nichols
