February Newsletter |Volume 2|Issue 10|Feburary, 2014| With Contributions by Div.11/18C Key Clubbers|

Hello Leaders! This month has been such a bitter sweet month; with the election of the new lieutenant governor. My term has really gone by in a blink of an eye, it’s hard to believe that there is only two more months left in this Key Year administrative year. Let’s accomplish all of the Key Club goals we have set for ourselves and finish stronger than we started. February is a month of many deadline. With the DCON registration deadline fast approaching. Every club should be filling out the annual achievement form. and entering into some competitions. Club election should be happening before DCON, as officers are able to receive training at DCON. Another benefit of electing the officers early is so that they are able to observe the work that goes into each position and integrate in with knowledge. Congratulations on Pranav Arya on becoming the Division 11/18C’s Lieutenant Governor for the 2014/2015 year. Go Canada Go!!

The fact that we are able to build a SIGN center in such a far away country is inspiring. Without the work of Mrs. Penner, Key Club members we would not have accomplished such a feat. One of the biggest fundraisers we held was the shovelling of mushroom compost. These couple of years, the doctors at SIGN developed a nail that is suitable for children. It cost $5,000 to build a paediatric SIGN Center at Gilani Center. We have already raised $2,800. We only have $2,200 more to go.

Our other project is a "knitting club" we have which is making bracelets, scarves and toques. They are planning on selling the bracelets wrapped around cookies to increase their sale potential. Meet Pranav Arya This year, I am proud to present the Lieutenant Governor for the ensuing year Pranav Arya from Abby Key Club. He was chosen by the club delegates at the election rally to lead our division through the next term. Remember, he will be officially installed as LTG in April at DCON!! Be sure to attend DCON to cheer him on. Pranav is currently a junior at Abbotsford Secondary School. During his junior year, he was the president of Abby Key Club, a member of Team BC Rugby and an IB Diploma student. Through his term as president , the level of service in his club increased greatly.
