Celebratory Song

Marching To Zion

Come, we that love the Lord, And let our joys be known; Join in a song with sweet accord, And thus surround the throne.

(Chorus)

We’re marching to Zion, Beautiful, beautiful Zion; We’re marching upward to Zion, The beautiful city of God.

The sorrows of the mind Be banished from the place; Religion never was designed To make our pleasures less.

Let those refuse to sing, Who never knew our God; But children of the heav’nly King May speak their joys abroad.

The men of grace have found Glory begun below; Celestial fruits on earthly ground From faith and hope may grow.

The hill of Zion yields A thousand sacred sweets Before we reach the heav’nly fields, Or walk the golden streets.

Then let our songs abound, And every tear be dry; We’re marching through Immanuel’s ground To fairer worlds on high.

HYMN OF DEPARTURE

Take The Name of Jesus With You

Take the name of Jesus with you, Child of sorrow and of woe. It will joy and comfort give you, Take it then where’er you go.

(Chorus)

Precious name, O how sweet! Hope of earth and joy of heaven; Precious name, O how sweet! Hope of earth and joy of heaven.

Take the name of Jesus ever As protection ev’rywhere. If temptations ‘round you gather, Breathe that holy name in prayer. [Refrain]

At the name of Jesus bowing, When in heaven we shall meet, King of kings, we’ll gladly crown Him When our journey is complete. [Refrain]

We should love and serve Him with all of our hearts from day to day, and share him with every person we meet. If they are like us, encourage them to continue to praise Him. If they’re not like us let them know how precious they are to the Lord, their Creator and Redeemer. And let them know that each and every one of us on this earth is moving (we’re not staying here) we are moving into eternity. And He is the only way they can be certain that when they close their eyes in time and open it in a light that is beyond explanation, they will be with the Lord forever.

Bishop Joseph Alexander Zonicle, J.P. 1919 - 2022
