“I am inspired by Indian culture and it’s spirituality, my paintings depict the journey of a seeker of truth”

Avani Shah is an artist and a Spiritualist from the city of Vadodra, Gujrat, India. Her artistic journey began very early in her life. Her most coveted birthday gift as a 7year old was a color box and set of brushes! It was a natural progression that she takes an Arts program at the University. And not just any University, she is Bachelor of Fine Arts from the prestigious M. S. University, Vadodara.

Her works stem from an intense spiritual premise. Avani believes that a strong force is what that keeps us together. And every experience of her life, in every situation, every time, she has experienced the cool shadow of ultimate bliss - the Divinity. And it features in most of her works.

Her paintings explore the force that resides in her. An inner reflection of her experience in the deep silence of meditation, which moves her like nothing else. As seen in the painting ‘Wings to Freedom’, where a blue angel seems to be in a trance. “I am inspired by Indian culture and it’s spirituality, my paintings depict the journey of a seeker of truth”, she says. Her paintings burst forth in bold sweeps of intense colours which demonstrate a wide range of emotions. The vibrations of reverberating ‘aum’ resonate from a burst of deep ochre sunshine.

Avani has had many solo and groups shows. She has received a grant at National Level and also an International Grant for a solo show in New York.
