He also finds that art is a never-ending learning experience, and sincerely hopes that we love what we see. He desires that that his unique creations put a smile on our faces and that they bring to us a sense of wonderment.

Bob Ivens, was born in Antwerp, Belgium. His creative drive took him to the Art Academy of Antwerp, where he trained in Advertising. At the age of twenty-two, he set up his own company where he did general advertising work and also screen-printing. Gradually screen-printing became the company’s main activity and painting still remained his passion.

Bob’s adventurous spirit took him wandering around the Himalayas for two months. Upon his return, he sold his shop and at the age of thirty-five converted a barge into a houseboat for artists to exhibit their works in. Hanging out with other fellow artists, Bob reverted back to his former passion - painting, and he fervently took to painting large works.

“My works, mainly oils on canvas, for the most part, are humorous yet seasoned with eroticism”, says Bob. Further, explaining the process behind his ingenious and unorthodox canvases, he says, “I always start from vague sketches, but as the canvas progresses, I let my imagination run free, as a result of which the original design changes considerably by the time the painting is done. Giving a title to my paintings is a necessary evil, it partly deprives the spectators of their own imagination and interpretation.” He is right! Putting a title to his work could take a little bit of mystery away from his
