TENNIS CAMP

Grab your tennis racket and get ready to play! Whether your child is a beginning or intermediate player, this program will improve their game and help them get more enjoyment from tennis Our tennis programs focus on skill refinement as well as practice and match play to develop consistent, well-rounded tennis players.

FLAG FOOTBALL CAMP

Flag Football is the perfect introduction to “America’s Game ” Participants learn skills on both sides of the football - including the core components of passing, catching, de-flagging and defense - all presented in a fun and positive environment.

VOLLEYBALL CAMP

Camp Skyhawks Volleyball takes the energy and excitement of this great team sport and puts it all together into one fun-filled program. All aspects of the game are taught through drills and exercises that focus on bumping, setting, spiking, hitting and serving. This camp is designed for the beginning to intermediate player.

MINI HAWK CAMP (BASEBALL & SOCCER)

This multi-sport program was developed to give 4 to 7 year-olds a positive first step into athletics Sports are taught in a safe, structured environment filled with encouragement and fun. Through games and activities, campers explore balance, hand/eye coordination and skill development at their own pace

TRACK & FIELD CAMP

The fundamentals of body positioning, stride, proper stretching and cool-down techniques are taught. Track and field events include javelin, discus, shot put, hurdles, long jump, triple jump and various running and relay events

LITTLE GREEN THUMB

Flowers and minds can’t blossom without STEMs. This camp is specially designed for inquisitive pre-K or Kinder-“Gardeners”. Kids discover how to paint with wind, build a bug model, start their own garden and learn what nature needs to make their plants grow! WACKY ROBOTS & WIDGETS

Whether your child loves to build things or destroy them, this week of camp includes lots of both! Junior Mad Science engineers design and build structures using simple tools and their imaginations Then the machine madness starts…children discover how different machines, both simple and complex, are used in our daily lives! Kids design simple machines using pulleys, wedges, screws and levers and have fun learning how catapults work! We use the skills we’ve learned to build a Mad Science robot that we can keep, all while learning the science of robotics!

Program Information

R.O.C.K. Afterschool is available Monday-Friday on school campuses from the time school is dismissed until 6 P.M., except school holidays, breaks, and inservice days.

Payment Options

R.O.C.K. Afterschool payment options include a one-time payment in full or quarterly or monthly auto pay. A Punch Pass for 10 site visits to R.O.C.K. will also be available for students. Scholarships are available for those who qualify; awarded as funding is available. Please contact your local community center for information about scholarship opportunities.

R.O.C.K. Afterschool is a license-exempt program.

This program offers children between the ages of 3 to 5 years old an educational and recreational experience. This program supports children's imaginative, physical, cognitive, social, and emotional development The San José Recreation Preschool Program prepares students for kindergarten success in a safe and welcoming environment

KINDERPREP

This class prepares your child for kindergarten with age-appropriate activities, learning concepts, socialization skills, and fun! Your child will gain a basic understanding of shapes, colors, pre-phonics, literacy building (i e identifying letter sounds, writing the alphabet, and simple words), number recognition, and counting up to 30 The goal is to have fun, participate, and learn. Children must be able to use the restroom unassisted. All children must have valid immunization records on file before the start of class. Requirements for parent participation will vary by center.

LITTLE LEARNERS

Children will be introduced to socialization, positive self-esteem, structured playtime, and simple learning concepts. Children will work on hand-eye coordination and motor skills while gaining independence through circle time, music, songs, stories, play, and arts & crafts Food will be provided for cooking activities and may be provided for special events Children must be able to use the restroom unassisted All children must have valid immunization records on file before the start of class Requirements for parent participation will vary by center
