ARTS & CRAFTS MY FIRST ART CLASS Explore five art stations with a different theme each week. Children engage in ageappropriate projects at their own pace and in their own way. Each class will end on a musical note with singing and dancing. Aprons are provided but wear your grubbies.

MASTERS OF PUBLIC SPEAKING & DEBATES This course serves dual purpose: It is an excellent course to build confidence in students as well as an ideal class for students to prepare for joining the competitive Debate or Speech Teams of their middle and high schools. This is the masters level course that teaches students parliamentary and L-D debate formats. It covers an indepth knowledge of writing and presenting persuasive, informative and impromptu speeches. JAZZ & TAP

This program encourages grace, poise and self-expression. Children learn to respond to different types of music and express their thoughts and feelings through the art of dance. A variety of music and fun props keep your little one entertained! Parents may stay for first 10 min of first class and are invited back at the end of program for a class demonstration. Come join the fun! Students will have fun learning Ballet positions, warm-ups, and tap steps. Correct technique and terms will be taught. MUSIC GUITAR LESSONS: YOUTH LEVEL I This fun and educational class is for the absolute beginner guitarist. Students will be introduced to the basics of guitar playing and music fundamentals by learning fun, contemporary songs. Please consider the following policies and requirements before registering for a San Jose Recreation Preschool class:        

Effective November 26, 2018, all children 18 months to 5 years of age enrolled in San Jose Recreation Preschool are required to show proof of immunizations.

Requirements for a parent participation, volunteer, snack, etc. varies by center.

Teacher to child ratio is 1:10 or better.

Participants must be toilet trained by the first day of program.

Non-registered children are not allowed in the class at any time. Please make arrangements for siblings on your participation day.

Everybody loves camp! This camp is designed for children with disabilities who need a higher level of staff assistance for participation including those with Autism Spectrum disorder. Activities will include arts and crafts, games, circle time, and possibly a field trip. The goals of this program include: increased leisure skills, improved fine motor skills, decreased isolation, and community/friendship building. Children should bring a sack lunch to camp each day. Participants must be able to function in a 1:3 staff to child ratio and be independent with personal care needs or bring an attendant with them. Attendants will need to fingerprinted by the City of San Jose.

In this class, students will learn the basic principles to lay down the foundation for a practice based on safety and understanding of ones own abilities as well as limitations.
