This introduction to hip-hop class is for boys and girls who love to dance and have lots of energy! Music and instruction is age-appropriate. Children learn to respond to music, improve balance, agility, coordination and rhythm. This class safely introduces basic gymnastics balances, rolls, springs and rotations while also developing a dance foundation. Children improve motor skills and coordination in a playful atmosphere. A first introduction to ballet - children learn basic ballet positions, steps and routines. They dance to a variety of ballet and age-appropriate music, use props and have lots of fun! Children should wear ballet attire and ballet shoes. Parents may stay for first 10 min of first class and are invited back at the end of program for a class demonstration. Calling all Princesses! In this magical princess themed class, they will learn ballet, creative dance, individual steps, across the floor movement and dance combinations. SJ RECREATION PRESCHOOL Please consider the following policies and requirements before registering for a San Jose Recreation Preschool class:  Parents should pack a snack for their child each day. Parent volunteer requirements vary by class, please inquire for details.  Teacher to child ratio is 1:10 or better.  Participants must be toilet trained by first day of program.  Non-registered children are not allowed in the class at any time. Please make arrangements for siblings on your participation day.  A birth certificate may be requested for age confirmations.  The City of San José, Department of Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Services provide recreational programs ONLY and not licensed childcare.  After reaching the class capacity your child can be put on a waitlist. If a spot becomes available at any SJ Recreation Preschool center, you will receive a call and be given the  

option to enroll at that center or to stay on the waiting list. Monthly payment plan is available with auto-pay on the 20th of each month. A valid credit card must be on file for monthly auto-pay. Children will be introduced to socialization, positive self-esteem, following directions and simple learning concepts. Children will work on hand eye coordination, motor skills, and gain independence through the use of circle time, music, songs, stories, play and arts and crafts. Food will be provided for cooking activities and may be provided for special events.

This class prepares your child for kindergarten with age-appropriate activities, learning concepts, socialization skills and fun. Your child will gain a basic understanding of shapes, colors and pre-phonics and literacy building (i.e. identifying letter sounds, and writing the alphabet and simple words), as well as number recognition, and counting up to 30. The goal is to have fun, participate and learn.

GUITAR LESSONS: LEVEL 1 This fun and educational class is for the absolute beginner guitarist. Students will be introduced to the basics of guitar playing and music fundamental by learning fun, contemporary songs.
