SUMMER CAMPS CAMP SAN JOSE At Camp San Jose your child will participate in an unforgettable summer day camp experience combining summer camp traditions with enriching and educational activities. Children will play fun games, sports, create cool arts and crafts projects, sing funny songs and embark on a weekly field trip. Activities incorporate educational features disguised in fun and entertaining activities and projects. Price includes a low leader to child ratio of 1:10, field trips, a Camp San Jose shirt, skill building, new friendships, disguised learning and much more! Campers need to bring water, lunch* and sunscreen each day. *Check with your local community center for a complete list of field trips, lunch programs, scholarships and payment plans. FIT CAMP Come join us at F.I.T. Camp, a two week long camp where your kids will develop a balanced approach of knowledge, skills and confidence to be physically active for a lifetime! SUMMER CAMPS LITTLE MEDICAL SCHOOL CAMP
NASAÂŽ: JOURNEY INTO OUTER SPACE
Little Medical School brings medicine, science, and the importance of health to children in an entertaining, exciting, and fun way. Children learn and have fun as they dress up like doctors, learn how to use instruments doctors use, understand how the body works, administer first aid, and even tie knots like a real surgeon. Each child get their own stethoscope that really works, as well as a diploma upon completion of the Little Medical School course. Mad Science and NASA have teamed up to bring you the excitement and wonder of space in this new voyage of discovery. See the principles of thrust and propulsion at work in a real rocket launch. Watch star dust burn, and journey through a galaxy as you investigate the life cycle of stars. Explore the farthest reaches of our solar system and create a lunar eclipse in the "mad" planetary tour! ANNA & ELSA DANCE CAMP
Campers will learn the fundamentals of swinging, putting, and body positioning. Skyhawks has adopted the SNAG (Starting New At Golf) system to its curriculum. SNAG is specifically designed for the entry-level player; SNAG simplifies instruction so that young players can make an easy and effective transition onto the golf course. All equipment provided. WACKY ROBOTS & WIDGETS Whether your child loves to build things or destroy them, this week of camp includes lots of both! Junior Mad Science engineers design and build structures using simple tools and their imaginations. Then the machine madness starts children to discover how different machines, both simple and complex, are used in our daily lives! Kids design simple machines using pulleys, wedges, screws and levers and have fun learning how catapults work! We use the skills we’ve learned to build a Mad Science robot that we can keep, all while learning the science of robotics! Children must know how to read and write full sentences. CONTINUING GUITAR (YOUTH) BEGINNING & CONTINUING UKULELE
This is a follow-up class to Beg. Guitar Level 1. Students will work on music rudiments and songs both as a group as well as receive some limited individual instruction. Topics include playing chords to popular and classic songs, tablature melody playing and beginning fingerpicking. Teen Leadership Camp (T.L.C.) is designed for teens to prepare for their roles as future camp leaders and interact with other teens. Working closely with staff, they will learn all aspects of camp and what it takes to become an inspiring and memorable camp leader. Teens will receive mentorship from recreation staff, learn the value of teamwork, and become role-models for younger campers. Camp will also focus on teen development and team building. The registration fee includes supervision, field trip admission fees, T-shirt, supplies & equipment, training materials, and transportation (via San JosĂŠ City vehicles, City Transit, or Charter Bus).
